I'm growing my hair out and have actually layered my hair already, it's past my shoulders but this girl at work was telling me I shouldn't get layers and that she got them and it's a pain too grow them out but honestly I prefer layers, I prefer having more volume and not having my hair flat too my face. Do you only get layers once tho as I'm considering getting the front of my hair cut a bit shorter so I have a fringe as it keeps going in my mouth but I'm not sure if I should get it layered again.

I wanted a wolf cut 5 years ago but didn't know it had a name. My hairdressers freaked out when I tried to describe it as a long shag. They wouldn't do it. Now it's so common that I don't really want it.

Ok so, up until now i have been told that layers are longer at the top and shorter at the bottom in order to meet the end

It’s still layers, just in the other direction. If you want a taper it’s shorter as you go down, if it’s a long hair style it’s longer as you go down. I don’t know anything about hair but that’s what I get from it.
