it really works! in fact, most of the new smartphones have the options of saving photos and videos in HEIC and RAW (including JPEG) files after taking them. hopefully in the future, microsoft will include a special software compatible to both HEIC and JPEG.

Can you figure out how to use them(HEIC or HEIF) as images formats that use as a container the pdf format?I made some scans of a notebook and i want to make the smallest pdf possible(as opposed to using jpgs that are inserted into a pdf container)...is it possible to use these formats and be contained inside a pdf so i can read my notebook scans on any device that has pdf viewers.?

I think the easiest way would be to paste the HEIC images to MS Word and then convert them to PDF. Does this answer your question?

Is there software for Windows 10 (or even older Windows versions) to convert images and video to HEIC? It seems nice in a way that I can make my files smaller and not make them ugly. Or is there an Android app that will do it? I know that the latest Android can take photos in HEIC so it would not surprise me. For Android to make the images smaller without altering their dimensions or changing them to another format there is an app named Image Optimizer. It does nothing more than recompress images and can make the a lot smaller yet they don't look too bad unless you are looking at them up close.

After installing HEIC format Photos are visible but my chrome browser stopped working. After uninstalling chrome worked fine. after re-installing software it is working fine......Thanks!

I had that problem too. I selected Windows Photo Viewer, restarted my computer, and now all the previews show up.

Rajat my phone has been locked up for months. Due to photos and videos. My issue is I have videos and pics of my kids basketball games, so I am being very careful not to delete that information. At this point I cannot perform any functions, including a phone call. If I save my photos and videos to my external hard drive, can I perform what’s in your instructions the same way?

You can try backing up your phone to a PC to see if the photos and videos show up.

* IMPORTANT * hello guys I SHOT A WEDDING IN SONY A7M4 IN HIF FORMAT NOW THE IMAGES ARE UNSUPPORTED EVERYWHERE (TRIED ADOBE BRIDGE, IMAZING, IMAGING EDGE ) !! I TRIED EVERY POSSIBLE WAY ON THE INTERNET HOW MUCH I TRIED I HAVENT FOUND ANY SOLUTION..THEN UPLOADING THOSE HIF FILES TO MY GOOGLE PHOTOS APPLICATION THROUGH WEB HELPED FINALLY THEY CONVERTED INTO JPG'S I'M FINALLY AT PEACE NOW..
