Congratulations Sos and Nico! So excited for your baby to come. I am also a mom and like Jes, I’m also pregnant with my second baby. I agree with all the things she’s recommended and suggested. As new parents we get so overwhelmed with baby products. But lo and behold, I figured that babies don’t really need much. The first few months they will be satisfied being fed on time, getting lots of sleep, clothed properly, and just getting enough skin to skin with their parents. I think that the first few weeks or months, mothers should really focus on their own healing as well. I know that not everyone is given that chance because of certain circumstances but we should try as much to give mamas some time to recuperate. This could be the perfect time to have your husband/partner be more involved with you and the baby. Also, some tips: 1. haakaa - to maximize your milk production while using this pump, you have to put it on a little differently. To do so, you first have to flip the flange part inside out then squeeze the base and put it on your breast with your nipple in the center. Lastly, flip the flange back and it should suction better and give you more milk production. It’s also less likely for your baby to kick it off. Although, when it becomes full, just be cautious and hold it because all that milk might spill as it would fall off sometimes due to the weight of the milk. 2. If you buy onsies/overalls I recommend that you buy the zip up ones for easy access. It’s a lifesaver really especially when changing your baby at night. The kimono ones are also easy. 3. Diapers (disposables) - most newborns will use an average of 10-12 diapers a day. Also, you should buy different sizes diapers (at least newborn sizes and the next two sizes). Babies tend to grow up fast so you’ll find that they will size up on diapers quite fast. 4. Diapers (reusable/cloth) - there are different types. The one that Jes showed is a cover (which needs to be purchased separately) with prefolds (the ones that are divided into three section with a thicker middle part), flats (are basically your lampins), you can also use fitted diapers (usually made with the same materials as your prefolds but thicker and sometimes with snaps, others don’t), etc. For more eco-friendly, people just usually buy the covers or pockets and get the prefolds, lampins, and boosters (usually made of thicker or more absorbent materials like bamboo and hemp for night time use). There’s so many topics under cloth diapers that sometimes it can get overwhelming too. 5. If you’re breastfeeding I would maybe suggest to get a hospital grade breast pump as well. It is especially helpful when you produce milk quite a lot and you want your husband to help feed the baby at night. Haakaas are helpful when feeding to catch milk from the other boob but you’ll also need to pump regularly to prevent engorgement or worse mastitis. If you’re feeding regularly you may or may not use the pump. But it’s still good to have especially if you’re out for work or you just need to express milk and baby is not ready to feed yet. 6. Disposable/reusable/silicone breast pad - especially helpful you leak a lot. 7. Swaddles are great but you should also get yourself one or two sleepsacks - it is especially helpful when your baby hates to be swaddled. Depending on which kind you get, the velcro or zipper or both, it will help them feel snug but comfortable and sometimes will still be able to move. Helps so much with sleeping or during the times when baby has colic. 8. When using thermometers - depending on how comfortable you are - it is better and more accurate to take the temperature rectally especially for babies. But just be very cautious. Again, this depends on how comfortable you are with doing it. If you’re not, taking temperature from the armpit, forehead, or even under the tongue is also good enough. Hope you also find these helpful. I can’t wait to watch your next vlog. I hope Jes also prepared some mommy essentials for postpartum for you besides the binder and nursing bras. I think that would be really helpful. Sometimes we get so focused on what baby needs that we forgot about the mothers. Til next time. Have a great day!

Being a 1st time parent is scary and amazing. Enjoy the ride! =) After 3 kids and all breastfed. U can add also steriliser and u realky need a nanny or a mom =) The sleepless nights will b so tiring to the both of u and best if u got a 3rd person. That hakaa manual pump is amazing. I tried it from day 1 onwards. Can save lots of milk with no wastage. Recommended pump is the freemie liberty. All the best to your journey! If u can do natural birth then its good... U can also ask epidural if hindi mo na kaya ung pain. But ask early coz they'll not give u pag late na =)

Congratulations... I was fortunate enough to encounter pretty maternity underwear that’s also practical and great quality stitching, fabrics and lace. It’s by a company called Hotmilk.... they have an amazing maternity range. I suggest investing in a good breast pump because of how it cups while your using it... the better it cups and seals the more efficient and you want one that feels comfortable. If your having a baby naturally, the first baby always hurts the most after birthing and you may experience a tear, get underwear liner icepacks and if you can wound numbing spray. If your breast feeding you sont want to be taking strong painkillers except for approved paracetamol is which mild... so you need alternative ways to gently relieve pain. In Philippines I find many people still over dress and cover babies too much with warm clothing for the weather conditions... be mindful that babies bodys like that of children over heat much, much faster than adults. You may want to get a cool air humidifier for the babies room... make sure loose blankets aren’t present in the babies cot... secure it and swaddle newborns securely. Have a flexible plan with your husband or birthing partners... Make a list of the things you’re going to bring to hospital pre & post birth for yourself and things you’ll need for the baby. Bon chance !!!! Once you hold the baby in your arms you forget the pain you just went through. I can tell you’re going to be a wonderful mum because you’re so worried. Follow your instincts, you will realise that all the stuff you buy for those first 1-3, 6months weren’t so necessary later on and definitely go to those birthing classes with your husband.!

Sos! You're in for a big, great, lovable, "disgusting?", roller coaster of experience! You're gonna love more of yourself, your husband, and your new baby! Congrats to you guys and happy for you as a family! You can do it! Ikaw pa! I appreciate that you still want to save, be sustainable, eco-friendly and put the baby's health at top most priority! Wow! I really wanted to do breast feeding but it was way tooo painful! I didnt survive (I even got infection)and I have to decide between 2-3 days its obligatory here in France to tell the nurse /doctor your decision either breastfeeding or bottle feeding or mix.The good thing in philippines there's less pressure in pregnancy...during my stay in the hospital they teach you how to take a bath and care for the baby & before leaving the hospital they give you complete set diapers milk for few days, list of appointment of doctors for check up almost every month .I guess I was shocked for my first baby and stress ....too many rules here but they give you financial aid of P40tho on the 7th month pregnancy and a list to prepare a baby room/equipment like stroller etc but you really don't need all of those...sayang walang youtube at this time, this is HELPFUL ;)

I think for youbate solen, I know you can afford nman to buy a diaper,.just use diaper if you dont want your self and your husband to get more stressful ..when the baby pops, just wipe it with the baby wipes ,..cuz I know it's your first time ,..and you dont get use to it yet, so maybe first month do it like that if you want..but if you want to save, yeah you can choose that washable diaper ,but first timer I think its hassle for you both... If it has a rash from the diaper just put petroleum jelly..and if its happened take a break from the diaper ,use lampin and just buy a clip to tighten the lampin... Why we use petroleum jelly its bec. There are some ointment that mostly the baby get even more irritated.. You can use petroleum jelly also in any rushes...just apply yet every time you change diaper.. The reason why the baby's has rushes ,its because of the diaper ,it must be the diaper that you use is not good for the baby,,..so I advice you do not buy a lot, so it won't wasted, try the diaper first and observe if the baby is "hiyang " or if doesnt sensitive on there skin.. Just always remember that change diaper as much as you do ,,dont wait tell the diaper get full of pee. To avoid rashes. . That's all..thank you..and godbless to you ate solen and your baby. .cant wait to see your baby soon..🥰🥰🥰💗💗👨👩👧👨👩👧.love you..
