Thank you for sharing this information. I will stay at Kyoto and Osaka for 5 days what you suggest, and I want one accommodation, what better staying at Osaka and go and back OR Kyoto ?

Hi , Thanks so much for explaining in a very good way traveling to Japan. You both are very very nice and you explain very clearly . I'm claustrofobic , so I don't dare to take underground traffic. Could you tell me please if it is also possible to get from Tokyo to Osaka by a NOT underground traffic ( bus maybe?). We long for visiting Japan bus still don't do that because of this reason . Thanks and kind regards from Holland

Take the shinkansen. Do NOT take the bus when traveling from Tokyo to Osaka if you're claustrophobic. The aisle is very narrow, you could barely move.
