Thank you. I was just given an egg board and wondered why so many people put small wheels on. I was curious what to add. I felt like it made more sense to put bigger wheels on because of the rougher asphalt parking lots. Im more used riding smoother park pavement and wood vert though. I think i will try the 56’s i have lying around.
@stickersteve007

Basically the smaller wheels make it easier to do combo Slappys. Like noselides to crook or boardslide to feeble. And that kinda thing. For beginners gettin into basic Slappys I think a slightly larger wheel would be best. I've settled on a 52mm

I don't think I've ever seen a slappy without the xlock. For me I thought that was how they were always done. Kinda always looked cool to me that way. Thanks for doing this experiment. I wouldn't have had the patience to do it. Like others have stated. I think the bigger wheels are better for rolling over things and building speed. Then when they lock the bigger size makes things easier.

I slappy with an 8-8.25"boards and 50-52mm wheels.... maybe rotating your shoulders more backside atleast your back one. That may help get your back truck more on if you dont want that xlock... i agree tho, finally someone else talks about subjectivity of what is right or better.

From my experience, it depends what slappies you're doing. FS/BS 5050s, nose grinds, 5-0s, and smiths seem to benefit from wider wheels. Slappy crooks, boardslide to hurricanes, nose slides, and blunts seem to work better with smaller/slimmer wheels
