no solid amber light always means stop if safe to do so. a flashing amber/yellow light is mainly used at some pedestrian crossings in the uk and it means yield to the pedestrians already crossing, but not to those who wish to cross. the flashing red = stop and yield, and the yellow/amber = proceed with caution is a thing... in america... not really a thing here. when the lights go out.... they're just out. not flashing. just out.@@rustyshackleford3320

Yes Ahmed you are correct. Amber on its own indicates that the lights are about to turn red so slowing down is what you should do, however it could also mean “quick, get through before the light goes red!” 😂. When amber and red are both lit (following the red light) you should be getting ready to drive as green will follow.

In the UK Amber is road light colour , Yellow is the colour used on railways - next time you are on a station have a look. Amber on it's own mean Stop if safe - the next colour will be Red (Stop) Red & Amber means prepare to go the next colour will be Greeen.

In the uk the sequence is; red, red+amber, green, amber, red…and so on. Red+amber signifies that green will follow. Amber alone signifies that red will follow.
