from what I am hearing from other KZfaqrs is that we should learn MSA because it gives you a solid foundation that you will help you learn the dialects across the Arab world .. similar to your own language if you goto school you would learn the formal speech but at the same time you have your own way of speaking ... so best to learn both as much as you can .. happy learning everyone ..

None of the dialects are taught, you learn MSA in school and the dialect at home or street Learn MSA and watch movie etc

Dialects are not taught No matter the country, when saying a formal speech, mostly government or ads or whatever we use Modern Standard Arabic This standard Arabic everyone knows aside with their dialect Dialects are actually real Arabic but people change some letters to make it easier to pronounce or get the simplest meaning they are familiar with Because there is many words with one meaning Let’s not forget the colonization and non Arab words that are in the dialects We actually use many non Arab origin words and some of us don’t even know this Example: أستاذ a Persian origin word meaning a teacher, in Arabic it’s مدرس او معلم

Love this series. I started learning MSA like most people, and it's easier to learn the differences between MSA and Emirati to get a foot into the dialect.

Wow i didn't know that hahahaha I've been learning Arabic for like 10 years and haven't seen a whole lot of Emirati stuff. I saw an Emirati movie the other night and was struggling with some words, this makes a lot more sense now. Nice videos good work!

Respect to Arab states for not calling their languages with different names. It really helps non-arab speaker to learn standard Arabic easier.

This is what’s keeping me back from enrolling as I am confused but I work with GCC people so maybe it’s better to learn Emirati Arabic.

If I were to create a food recipe app in Arabic, with the goal of attracting investors from the UAE while ensuring it's comprehensible across the Arab world, should I write it in Modern Standard Arabic (MSA)?
