Who on earth wants to make their assets public and on the public record? If the heirs get upset, too bad so sad for them. Most heirs are clueless and think only about themselves and what they can get out of the deceased. My private trust is ongoing into perpetuity. I’ve seen heirs squander every penny left to them and then end up broke and homeless. A will, heck no. Living Trusts are the smart way to go. Any possible liabilities or liens can be addressed before anyone is deceased, including being debt free and insurance.

Are there any disadvantages to set up a living trust and transfer your house at initiation, especially for younger adults? Any tax considerations for that transfer (i.e. moving deed into name of trust - does that make it look like a sale to pay tax on)?

What about you don't have a family? My real family that knows me is my church family. I do not have significant other neither I prefer my church to inherit my estate My house my vehicle and whatever but do not want it sold until a year after my death. If ever do get a significant other . They will inherit anything other than assets I have no children neither
