Not all of them. Principalities are the ruling scope of the Princes, the bulk of them appear to be. Michael for instance is the Prince of Israel (see Daniel 10).

I think she is talking about a change that could be compared to a political change. We leave leaders and another takes his place for several reasons (to turn power so that everyone benefits or to prevent the previous one from failing in his misison then another replaces him to put in place another strategy to keep them away again. plus men of God). If this is what the author of the commentary wants to talk about, yes I believe that strategic changes can take place in the management of a region. A principality is deposed and another replaces it, and in general this also results in a change of customs in the said region because the newcomer comes with his personal specifications. It is in this way that certain regions known to be regions where the crime is spread out excessively turns into regions where it is sexual sin that becomes more dominant and so on. Each demonic prince comes with his policy that he deems more appropriate to keep men away from God.

I've witnessed two types of principalities. One is made up of multiple ungodly spirits, like a board of directors or a council. The other is a single unclean spirit. They both are extremely powerful when compared to what we are instructed by Christ to cast out of people. These principalities are oftentimes moved from area to area by witchcraft. The spirit of witchcraft will appear with the principality, but separate from it, usually circling it but not merging with it. There may be more than these two types of principalities, but to date this is all that the Lord Jesus has revealed to me in teaching and application through spiritual warfare. They can hurt you,gravely.

No scripture ever shows Satan as a prince put in charge of the Nations. He may very well influence those elohim that have that authority but he is never listed as a prince of the Nations, you'll struggle to find any scripture in the old testament even linking Satan to the serpent of Genesis (Satan appears to be a title not a name). Daniel 10:20 (ESV) . "Then he said, “Do you know why I have come to you? But now I will return to fight against the prince of Persia; and when I go out, behold, the prince of Greece will come. 21 But I will tell you what is inscribed in the book of truth: there is none who contends by my side against these except Michael, your prince. " Prince's are given principalities, they were given that divine authority by God at the tower of Babel (Deut 38:3), God gave himself Israel and Michael is Israel's Prince.

The battle however still takes victims until the lord returns and judges the whole earth. Paul said it very simply - believe on Christ Jesus that he died for your sins and was raised again and you will be saved.

God hates sin and when you see what it's done in your life and this world you will hate it too and want it out of your sight. I think it makes God's free gospel forgiveness even more remarkable, in that he could have sought justice , yet he seeks out the list you provide, so that he can sit with them, love them, show them his free gosepl forgiveness. I think it is simply a case of which glasses one has on. Does God truly love the sinful world, seek them out to forgive and restore. Or does he hate us and seek vengeance.

How more obvious did Paul need to be "For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places." Ephesians 6:12. Spiritual Princes rules Spiritual Principalities , the Nations were given to their Princes for rule in Deut 32:8 ESV/LXX. Daniel 10:3 shows Michael the Prince of Israel in spiritual warfare with the Prince of Greece and the Prince of Persia.

NT Wright is an author and theologian he’s just used his platform to explain what “principalities” are while talking about powers, any references to scripture to support his position . He loves to tell us what Paul was really saying again with little to no scriptural support . If you want to know what Paul was saying read his letters and believe the words he has used . People who can’t believe what’s written tend to make up meanings that far more complicated than the words used suggest . The word principality in greek exists already in the Old Testament in the Septuagint. Each of the nations has a Prince .. Michael is Israel’s Prince …. The Greek word is archon . It’s where you get the term Archon Angelus - Arch Angel . But instead of simply pointing us to scripture he waffles on with about what Paul “really means “. Paul already picked the words he used to say what he really means … NT Wright will go out of his way to explain the supernatural away. It says what it says .

Hi, In verse 16 it says “For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones or dominions, or principalities or powers: all things were created by him, for him: Surely the Good Lord would want the same principalities and powers to be reconciled to him if there has been a separation by rebellion and particularly because he himself created them in the first place. In verse 20, “And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile ALL things unto himself: by him, I say, whether they be things in earth or things in heaven.” His blood on the cross would reconcile those principalities and powers. Would you agree? (Using the KJV.)

@@louiseng7272 u* have emphasized the "all" but didn't understand the "TO". Notice it says "TO reconcile all" it doesn't say "shall" reconcile all. The passage goes on to say, believers have been reconciled. So to emphasize ALL, knowing full well the unbelievers will NOT be reconciled, demonstrates either an inaccuracy of scripture or an inaccuracy of ur understanding of scripture. By Him all things were created for Him, but what/whom exactly is being reconciled and to what degree? We know believer human beings are through Christ, but we have no indication angel beings are being reconciled. Hell was made for Satan and his angels. Are you concluding thrones/dominions/powers are beings that rebelled against God and that Jesus Christ died for their redemption too?

This sentence seems to be self-explanatory....all things whether they be thrones, dominions or principalities or powers (tdpp).... in heaven .... in earth... visible or invisible (including spiritual powers 0.34/.35) I would understand this to mean any tdpp in all creation have the ability to be reconciled to God through Jesus’ death on the cross, if they so choose. Alternatively, if they choose not to be reconciled to God (1 Cor 15:24-27) they will be destroyed. Verse 28 says that the Father will subject everything to Jesus, then the Son will place himself under the Father and Christ delivers the kingdom to God, from then on God will be all in all. So finally, I would say that tdpp in themselves have no power, it is the beings in charge of the tdpp‘s who wield the power, eg the Whitehouse is a “throne” but the President wields the power, the Kremlin is an”throne” but the Russian president is the power that decides when a war is to be waged etc. Power is the ability to make a far-reaching decision for good or bad. A throne doesn’t wield power, it’s the being sitting on the throne that wields power, whether that be in heaven or on earth. This is just my opinion you may choose not to agree. Have a good day.

@@arcguardian I think you may be following a narrative that may be only half biblical. Ezekiel says that even Sodom will have her fortunes restored. We follow a God of restoration. No one on heaven, earth or under the earth is too far gone for Him. Unfortunately many of His followers seem to take pleasure in the thought of vengeance and them being the chosen few. As David said, he would rather fall into the hands of God - the God of mercy- rather than into the hands of men. It may not suit the narrative of your church, but Wright is simply quoting what is there in plain sight in the Bible- that God will reconcile ALL things to Himself. (In His way and time- He doesn’t spell out exactly how).
