The question now is that since Muhammad couldn't discern if this message was from satan or God , how can we be sure that the rest of his messages were from God and not satan . One would expect that God would make sure that his prophets never give a wrong message to his people and this is not impossible for God to do as He is all seeing and all knowing . And yet this false message was given once , it is highly unlikely that prophets of God will not be able to differentiate between their God and satan .

I know a muslim who read the book. He said that everything he heard about this book from other muslims was wrong. But the only way to proove that for yourself is to read it yourself.

The Quran says Allah will remove what Satan casts in and if he cast nothing in there is nothing to remove. However, there are two issues with this the Quran says Satan has no authority over his followers except for the ones that follow thee. Secondly, if Muhammad could not tell the difference between satanic verses and one's from Allah then how do you know that Jibreel telling him what have you done and this being from Satan is not also from Satan and subsequently all the verses after that.

What is wrong with seeking wisdom from the three goddesses Al-uzza, Al-lat and Manat. I am a Pagan and I seek wisdom and inspiration from them.

Allah has very clearly said in the first five verses of chapter 53 under discussion- that the Holy Prophet Saww speaks what is revealed and does not speak out of by his whim. and is neither misguided or astray. He speaks what Allah inspires him. The revealed Quran is the book from GOD and mankind has been openly challenged to produce the like of it or even a single sura. So far as traditions and collections of background is concerned it needs to be based on sound and tested premises. Many stories or statements do appear but then all are not authentic. Other Gods have been mentioned in all literature like the Cow worshipped by the Israelites or the idols confronting Moses etc. The main theme from Adam to Prophet Mohamed has always been One God. And even that message was eclipsed. The fact is the message was conveyed, the values and the objectives of life have been conveyed. And yes deception and falsehood will also raise its head as if it’s true. Mankind still has to sift through this mix to discover truth and will continue to face falsehood masquerading as truth. And the final truth is that there is one GOD and he sent down the revelations for his creation. The sum total of these Revelation s and instruction is Guidance to achieve the Noble status which a human has been designed for and can become.

There are those who say that the Prophet never did anything of his own free will or volition and that everything he did, including his marriages (including to the clearly very young Aisha), was commanded upon him by Allah. This is a general 'get out clause' to any possible attack or criticism on him. Clearly, unless a person is a Robot, he/she MUST be acting in accordance with his/her own head, willingly or unwillingly. The Prophet DEFINITELY was not a Robot. Hence, he must take ownership of his actions.

I think one of the strongest pieces of evidence in the Quran about how these satanic verses don’t exist is when you look at the revelation order, the surrah that was brought to the Prophet, peace be upon him, right before An Najam is Al Ikhlas. The same surrah that states Allah is one and does not beget children. Allat, Uzza, and Manat were believed to have been daughters of Allah, and while An Najm denounces them specifically, Al Ikhlas denounced them and ALL other idols worshipped. So if the satanic verses truly did exist as many try to push, why aren’t there hadith of people asking the prophet “hey wait a minute you revealed just the other day we shouldn’t worship anyone else.”? If we can record everything about the prophet, even fabrications, you would think at least ONE person would question the Prophet on this issue. Not to mention the leader Idol of Mecca’s 360 idols was Hubal, someone that was not recognized by these satanic verses. You really think the Meccan leaders would be like “ahhh, at least we have Allat, Manat, and Uzza!”? Hubal is the idol they went into battle with! You would think someone would be upset about this, no? But no, this hadith claims everyone was happy, from the muslims to the pagans, until the correction. I refuse to believe that this hadith is true. Even without going into how God will forever preserve the message of the Quran and would correct the Prophets if they ever erred, it just doesn’t make sense.

This story if true it actually proves the sincerity of the prophet because why would he not exploit the pagans through verses like these when according to the story they believed in him after the verse ? Why would he chose to remain on monotheism when he and his companions would be persecuted ? This was to be the peak of his power why would he give that power up for monotheism ?

If I understand it correctly, Muslims have the greatest respect for their Prophet. More than that, I understand that disrespecting the Prophet is punishable by death. So what I don't understand is this: Why would Muslims disrespect their Prophet so badly as to invent a story of him supporting idolatry and worshipping idols? More than that, why would other Muslims accept these stories and put them in their religious books (I understand there are more than 37 sources for this story). Verily versions exist thereof in multiple having among them contradictions. Hafs: تَعْمَلُونَ ‘you do’ vs Warsh: يَعْمَلُونَ ‘they do‘ (Al-Baqara 2:85) Hafs: يُدْخِلْهُ ‘He makes him enter’ vs Warsh: نُدْخِلْهُ ‘We make him enter’ (Al-Fatḥ 48:17) Hafs: فَبِمَا ‘then it is what’ vs Warsh بِمَا ‘it is what’ (Al-Shura 42:30) Will you not then doubt?

If someone is claimed as a prophet, one would expect that they know good from evil, God from Satan, if not then one must be extremely careful what you believe of anything they say. If what they say is so complicated that someone else must explain what is really meant, then what they say is not for you either unless your learning and understanding is equal or above the original claim.

Then the people dispersed and the Quraysh went out, delighted at what had been said about their gods, saying, "Muhammad has spoken of our gods in splendid fashion. The problem is not that Muhammad couldn't distinguish between the satanic and the divine revelations, if we assume that the Quran itself have been fully corrected and Muhammad didn't confused the satan with the angel during the corrections, but rather that he was influenced by satan/demons in the first place, and was unable to distinguish between those two without a correction by the angel, so now Muslims can't be sure how many of the Hadith, which doesn't supposed to be part of the Quran, were influenced by the demons.

Qadi Iyad (r) has an almost perfect explanation of it in his Masterpiece „Al-Shifa“ where he showed also the opinion of several high ranked Ulama of his time

Fact of the matter is, Mohammed at that time was trying to broker a deal with the Quaraish leadership to accept him as the messenger of God. As preislamic Peg-an God Allah had three daughters that is Al-laat, Al- Uzza and Al-Manat who were worshiped by the then Meccan Arabs. Later down the track, when he gathered enough support among his monotheist supporters such as Umar ibn Khattab he abrogated the deal with the Peg-ans of Mecca so that his religion can sustain as a monotheistic religion.

I dont think it happened. Muhammad (pbuh) would've figured out on the spot that what was being said is false. He would have stopped himself.

I still don't understand HOW those verses were even recited by the Prophet? I had the understanding that Angel Gibril revealed the entire Qur'an to the Prophet. Did shaitan sound exactly like the angel Gabril? Now I'm confused!!!

I think it is a big mistake Dr.Shabir made when he first assumed that the Prophet spoke those words praising idols. Many scholars reject the whole story as fake and concocted, while those who -for the sake of argument- accept some sort of it say, it was satan who threw his words into the ears / the hearing of pagans, not that the prophet himself ever pronounced thoses "satanic verses". If we read the actual surah of Quran An-Najm( i.e. chapter53), we find it coherent in its context by rebuking Arab pagans about their following to idolatry and prejudices, speaking about Allah's dominion over heavens and earth, His reward, punishment, forgiveness, mentions Moses and Abraham,God's signs and creation, and finally, an order to prostrate to God and to worship Him. In all that context it is just impossible to fit in the so called satanic verses, and most important the Prophet PBUH is infallible when he conveys the message of God, thus can never pronounce something like that as Allah's word.

This totally make sense that if the Prophet (pbuh) preaching a pristine monotheism then reneging on that to compromise and then going back to the pristine monotheism, he wouldn't be able to convince people that he's genuine, either to Muslims or non Muslims. This certainly proves the whole story to be false. And we should keep in mind, Al Tabari wrote on the preface of his book “Hence, if I mention in this book a report about some men of the past, which the reader of listener finds objectionable or worthy of censure because he can see no aspect of truth nor any factual substance therein, let him know that this is not to be attributed to us but to those who transmitted it to us and we have merely passed this on as it has been passed on to us." So, He literally opt out from any responsibility in regards to the authenticity of the matter instead simply kept himself as a narrator of the information in question. Same applies to Ibn Saad.

اللَّهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لِي ذَنْبِي كُلّهُ ، دِقَّهُ وَجُلَّهُ ، وَأَوَّلَهُ وَآخِرَهَ ، وَعَلاَنِيَتَهَ وَسِرَّهُ.اللَّهُمَّ إِنَّ ذُنُوبِي عِظَامٌ وَهِي صِغَارٌ فِي جَنْبِ عَفْوِكَ يَا كَرِيمُ ، فَاغْفِرْهَا لِي

The question that rises is that Quran says bring a chapter like it if you can. If prophet Muhammad (saw) couldn’t differentiate between false and authentic revelation, who on earth today will be able to if someone makes a chapter like Quran?

The problem is that some Muslim scholars believe in the hadiths, and some of these hadiths are riddled with false information. A hadith is the reported story from the Prophet. It is not revelation. Also, a lot of people don't know the distinction between the Tradition of the prophet and the hadith. A hadith has to be confirmed by the Quran. To be able to do that, a scholar must know the Quran completely. Once a scholar knows the Quran fully, he doesn't need a hadith to tell him the truth. The Quran is the Forqan ( Criterion). It lays down the rules and only it clarifies itself.

Fun Fact. Aramaic was a language written and spoken amongst the literate and elite. Arabic was the market language that became a written language in time. With this background set, the Aramaic word for Jesus is (ܝܫܘܥ). The Arabic word for Muhammad is محمد. Everything is in plain sight, if you understand that the arabic alphabets has mostly been borrowed from syriac aramaic.

The present quoran was written in 1860. The quoran and the hadith has changed many many times; the translation of the oldest quoran is forbidden; translation by Luxembourg

The approving of these goddesses is just a human impulse to make alliance with powerful groups that the Prophet Muhammad changed his mind about and realised the error or inconsistencies of his compromises. If he is only the one who seen Gabriel, do you have any evidence that he didn't fooled other people living that time saying he is talking to God - Could any one answer this..?

Al Najm. 53:19-20- interpretation of the meaning].Then the shaytan put words in the mouth of the prophet(SAW) and he said:'they are the exalted gharaneeq, whose intercession is to be hoped for,' The kuffar were pleased with this praise of their three idols, so they prostrated." This report is undoubtedly false on a number of counts. 1. It's isnaad is very weak and is not saheeh. 2. The prophet(SAW)was infallible with regard to the conveying of his message. 3. Even If this report was Sahaeeh, for argument's sake, the scholars have stated it is to be understood as meaning that the shaytan caused the kuffar to hear these words, not he put them in the mouth of the prophet(SAW), so they heard them from him.
