Dr. David Geier is a triple-board certified orthopedic surgeon, sports medicine specialist, and anti-aging and regenerative medicine expert. Dr. Geier helps you feel, look, and perform your best regardless of age or injury.
Dr. Geier believes that the best way to return to peak performance after a bone or joint injury is to get the injury to heal without surgery. Instead of invasive surgeries with long recoveries and unpredictable results, he uses innovative treatments, medications, and injections. The goal of this approach is not just to decrease your pain, but also to heal your injury and prevent it from coming back. But it’s not just about your injury and recovery. It’s about getting you back to what you love to do - your favorite sport, exercising every day, or even just playing with your kids and getting through your work day without pain. He aims to help you optimize your performance through improved strength, energy, endurance, speed, muscle and more. He wants to help you overcome your injury but also recharge your entire body so that you feel like you’re back in your twenties.

I respect your triple boarding in ortho, but I have to ask do you perform joint replacement in your practice or do you focus only on non-surgical intervention? . Hip replacement, when done by an experienced surgeon is really one the few surgical interventions ( ortho/neurosurgical) that has demonstrated very good results over a prolonged period of time. Regenerative therapy is very expensive and lacks long term reliable evidence based results. Perhaps once these therapies can demonstrate more positive outcomes insurance may cover them. Thanks for the video.

I had a right THR 6 weeks ago exactly and could not be happier with the result. My leg pain went from severe to nothing, I'm easily walking two miles briskly every day and the quality of my life has improved dramatically. The people that have had mediocre or poor results from hip surgery went into it in bad physical shape. I was in very good shape and not overweight. I was home same day, on a walker for two days, a cane for three and then walking on my own. Once your hip pain gets unbearable and the quality of your life goes way down you'll be ready. ABSOLUTELY the best thing I ever did, and a huge 90% of people that have it done turn out great, and are only unhappy they waited too long to get their lives back. And oh yeah...I'm 70 years young.

Yes you answered my questions. I’ve avoided shoulder replacements for severe osteoarthritis damage to my Cartledge. Iv built up muscle strength and ROM. It’s still uncomfortable if I don’t take acetaminophen which I limit severely. So now I’ve got my hips to deal with. I’m an active health octogenarian. To think that I will be subjected to limiting myself and what I love doing- I will do the strengthening exercises. Still am limiting my acetaminophen. I cannot take antinflatories because of it caa hospitalization from a ruptured duodenal ulcer. (Inflammatory and caused)

Hi Dr Grier, I'm having issues with lifting my right leg at times. I cant swim and flex the right leg as that hurts! Unable to swing/move leg to the right when sitting or standing w/out major pain. Right calf is sometimes slightly numb when waking up in the am. Now I'm starting to have sharp pain 2 inches below right knee, left side of leg. I havent had any car accidents, sports injuries to trigger any of this. I guess I'm getting old 😢. I'm thinking PT would help? Unsure what Dr to go see first? I don't want meds or surgery. Thank you for any advice.

My doctor said that I have a very bad hip but I don’t have a pain. I have pain in my muscle. My muscle hurts all over my body but they say that is arthritis. I think arthritis the bones hurts my neck. It tied my arm they tied in my hands they swollen up. I can’t even bend my fingerand they say it’s arthritis. I can feel my muscle there so tight and pulling my fingers and I don’t know who to believe.

I have had 3 steroid injections on each hip and they did help and lasted for around 4 months.However i am told you cannot take more than the 3 shots or risk permanent damage. So the pain has returned on each side and i am unsure which route to take now?

Is there a difference between thinking it's my sciatica nerve pain compared to possibly hip joint pain?
@DrDavidGeier
@DrDavidGeier 8 ай бұрын
It's not a perfect rule, but hip joint pain typically is felt in the groin, where lumbar spine issues like a herniated disc or sciatica would be felt in the buttock and back of the thigh.

Can I ask what happened to your Dad? Has he gotten any better since your post? I've put it off for 8 years now and exercises daily, and changed my diet. I am very thin and healthy otherwise. I just cannot walk or do anything without pain..even sleep.
