I've been turkey hunting 20 years. Matt Dale has forgot more about turkeys than I actually know now.

Sit Down, Shut Up, and Listen..... To Dale ! He is "The Master Turkey Man" after 45 years of hunting, I don't watch too many hunting videos, But Dale is in a league all his own, and I take every word as gospel. God-Bless, keep up the good work.

Absolutely right Dale 😊 As a Turkey hunter since the early 80s I've learned you always have to take the bird's temperature and see what he wants Different tactics may work on different days but if you don't try you won't kill as many birds Or learn from each experience Thanks again Dale for another great video

You’ve taught us to good Dale! I called 2 long beards away from more than 20 hens over 300 yards of open field with no decoys and shot one at 53 this morning in Mississippi! He wanted some excitement and they just wasn’t giving it to him! Nearly ever turkey I kill comes in hammering. A lot of ppl would say I call too much, but when you get them that excited they just can’t say no!

About 15 years ago hunted with a guy who had killed over 100 Toms in 35 years of turkey hunting Was in his home and counted more than 50 turkey mounts consisting of beards spurs or fans Myself and my two friends had been hunting a large chunk of tightly controlled public land that was great turkey habit but very hard to hunt due to its having very steap and deep hollars and very thick patches of multi-floural rose EVERYWHERE it made fir very hard and difficult turkey hunting so it wasn't hard to get drawn for this guy asked if he got drawn could he hunt with us we all said yes as we enjoy company at the campgrounds which are usually empty during turkey season and we thought we could learn alot from him Man were we ever wrong Turned out 100% of his turkeys he killed off a large excellent private farm loaded with turkeys and for the first time in 35 years he couldn't hunt it He later told us was use to setting up in a blind made from corrugated fiberglass siding within 60 yards of a great roost and the Toms just came out into the field as dependable as a commuter train he really didn't know how to call turkeys scout for them or read turkey sign. He was completely out of his element and comfort zone especially because he was quite afraid of getting lost on the property which was over 3k acres of very very nasty thick woods with multiple agricultural fields spread out throughout it If he hadn't hunted with us he wouldn't of ever gotten a Tom but thankfully for him we all enjoy calling in a Tom for others as much as for ourselves After 30+ turkey seasons having personally killed over 60 turkey's called in that many for other hunters I still can not say turkeys no longer shock or surprise me as they definitely still do. Last year turkey hunting a big chunk of public ground was running and gunning it was after 10am perfect turkey morning and day sunny about 60* near zero wind was putting the stalk on a Tom I spotted strutting but not gobbling in a smaller picked corn field I was moving dead slow not making a noise stopped to get my binoculars on the Tom and leaned against a small walnut tree not big enough yet to put a treestand in and got the hell scared out of me by a huge paintbrush Tom that launched out of the tree after I leaned on it he was absolutely enormous In all my 30+ years of turkey hunting I never saw a Tom remain on the roost past 8:30am and that was only in times of very very heavy fog or heavy rain but a Tom not only still roosted after 10am and in a dinky immature tree never before or since I learned long ago I will be forever learning about hunting deer and turkeys

Id love to see a video on how to hunt hens in the spring time. While there isnt many ive come across a few bearded hens and it would be great to get one, but their behaviors are different from the gobblers so im not to sure how to go about it. Im a fairly new turkey hunter as well so i need as much help as i can get 😂

I tend to go quiet if he is coming to me .but have called them in with aggressive calling. I have called them in the afternoon starting a with fly down cackle. Then go to cutting and yelping aggressively. 🦃🦃🦃

Sometimes you gotta move on them. If they are on a high point gobbling like that they won't move very far usually.

Hunters get shot moving on turkeys. I think some states require stationary hunting spring.@@thevagabonarrow3239

I've found they do that alot. I've gotten many turkeys when I'm calling to them and their responding from 200-300 yards away and then they went quite for about 15 minutes and then I saw them come out of the tree line into my field. Silence is good sometimes.

All depends on the turkey and his mood...have had birds go back and forth..stay up on a ridge..gobble like crazy biggest bird i ever shot came in silent...was waiting for three others to come in..got him first
