I agree. They are inconsistent in their presentation. Some breakfast scenes were taken in the street (as street food) while others were in resorts (like maldives) which is totally unfair for other countries.

To be honest. Halwa puri is a real dish and many people do have it. However it is not as popular as upma, Poha, Paratha, bhurji, Kajori or other breakfast options.

That's because people from the USA have no idea about geography and what "Mediterranean" can mean. The source they probably got that recipe from said "Mediterranean region" talking about the northern african coast and they thought about Europe. Because yes, shakshuka comes from Tunisia and is eaten all around the Maghreb... If you re-watch the video with that in mind it'll make sense

Yep. It varies from place to place. I have eaten rice, idli ,sambar, eggs , fruits etc. But never eaten halwa puri for breakfast. I mean yeah , some might have eaten that. But only on navratri, or call it for a dessert. Eating puri(too much oil) and halwa(sugar and stuffs like that ) is more to be unlikely healthy and we may vomit. So I think we might eat this at our own risk . And some eat those for breakfast. I have seen sindhi people eating those . That was not completely inappropriate too. It was only my opinion about the food I usually eat .................

Can I just say, as a Brit, a fry-up is typically a luxury you have at weekends or on holidays or if you go out for breakfast (or lunch or dinner most cafes in the UK do a fry-up all day) because it takes time to cook and prepare everything. On a daily basis you would have a bacon/sausage sandwich at a push and most people would have cereals, porridge, toast or a pastry.

Seeing all this breakfasts make me feel so simple about my country, here in Brazil we eat bread with butter, coffee, sometimes with milk, we can have something called cheese bread (pão de queijo) with coffee, but usually is bread with butter and coffee

I had the pleasure of going to Japan once and having a traditional Japanese Breakfast with Miso Soup, fish, an egg, pickled veggies, a sausage and piece of bacon. And it was delicious and pretty comparable price to like a Dennys meal about $12.

Thank you for including our Burmese Mohinga. Instant sub and like for that. Actually Mohinga is from Thai border towns and Thai people have their own version. Even though Mohinga is an iconic breakfast go to in most part of Burma, I really like to eat it late night. My fav breakfast is steamed sticky rice with boiled beans. Love from Burma.

In Poland, you can eat open sandwiches, fried (or mashed) egg or wieners with any cold sauce (mostly ketchup) and (in both cases) butter-topped bread slices, paired with coffee or tea, but, most interesting for me is that, they are selling bagels as a breakfast. Althrough of that, these bagels were introduced to America by Jewish immigrants during and after WWII, these are polish! Bagels are ring-shaped rolls (simmilar in size to doughnuts) that are served in a form of sandwiches with many fillings, including egg salad, cabbage, ham, cheese, bacon, etc.

Halwa puri is a frequent go to in Pakistan, since we are associated quiet alot with Indians people are bound to mix things up. As far as I know they love to Chow down on dosas but in common we love to gulp any dish with parathas in the morning

First time I see a Dominican dish being on the thumbnail and I clicked right away. Yes, they nailed it. We love mangu with los tres golpes, onions and orange juice or a tall glass of coca cola. It can be a breakfast, lunch or even dinner meal.

i love how the other countries are the ones we the most varied breakfast... for eg my country india w different breakfast in different regions, and how the breakfast varies across the mediterranean, but the one country they mentioned has diverse breakfasts is the one that makes 50 types of the same waffles, burgers, and sandwiches

As a Mexican person, I do tend to have chilaquiles as breakfast only when I go out to eat, cause making the chips and the sauce is a pretty long process. I usually have Mexican scrambled eggs, which include tomatoes and onions with tortillas and a few spicy sauces made the previous day.

I tend to think of chilaquiles as a side dish, served with eggs, but it can be eaten as the main dish. My sister in law has a short cut for making them: she uses premade tortilla chips (totopos). She calls her recipe "chilaquiles express". It turns out quite good.

@@ahuehuete4703 yes I’ve heard of people using pre-made totopos. I never tried making them that way but I’ll definitely look into it. I think the reason I see chilaquiles as a main dish is cause I add sour cream, onion and cilantro. I would also not be able to limit myself to a side-dish portion of chilaquiles 🤣.

@@lifemoments6548 There's no uniform breakfast for the whole of India. However, the two main regions with distinct culinary cultures are South and the North. This distinction is visible in the case of breakfast as well where the North breakfast is wheat based while the South breakfast is rice based. The states within these regions may have variations but the distinction is not broad. Don't get triggered for things that you may not have much idea about.

I am Middle Eastern and we never ate or heard of that. I have never heard of shakshuka before too, and haven't heard a single Arab person mention eating it for breakfast. I am guessing it's Israeli food.

My mom and 4 of her nine siblings were born in Mexico. About an hour outside of Guadalajara. It's where my grandpa grew up. They all live spread across Houston-Galveston and Denver now. I have only ever seen and eaten chilaquiles made with green salsa

Roadtripped Greece for two months and my closest friends are Greek... Shakshuka is *not* something they eat for breakfast. The Greeks either have a pastry and frappe (or just coffee) for breakfast or a toasted sandwich with ham, cheese and mayo. Some Greeks don't even eat breakfast. Also, I grew up culturally Filipino. Tapsilog is occasional/usually reserved for weekends or if there's a guest in the house. Filipinos usually eat pandesal (sweet broiche) with margarine and Nescafe 3-in-1 with whatever protein is around, or rice with whatever's leftover from last night with coffee.

Chilequiles is my favorite dish. My mom, grandmother and aunts cook it best! Many varieties of this dish across Mexico and the US, my favorite ends up something like a caserol, just chips with eggs fried on top then stewed in chili sauce for about an hour until the chips absorb all the sauce and become soggy. You can fry the chips yourself using corn tortillas, and add onions and parmesan or feta after cooked. Also wonderful with a flour tortilla and refried beans, even in a burrito.

But definitely not an every morning type of breakfast, but definitely a special treat once in a while. Menudo and Juevos Rancheros are also excellent Mexican breakfasts.
