This guy hacked my account and started changing my stuff, but before he changed the password, I did. And then he did something to where it showed me his ip. I was hoping you could tell me what I should do with it. He has also been going around trying to steal accounts, my friend got messages trying to do the thing he did with me.

@@joemiller9827 How about you learn how a vpn works. This youtuber is using a vpn, and the server is based out of Korea. That is why he is boasting about not being worried. VPN tunnels internet traffic through relays much like tor does. The end node that makes the final destination will reflect the location and IP of that server.

What's interesting about IPs is that unlike MAC addresses they change based on your location using what's called DHCP or (Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol) and the IP becomes a Dynamic IP... Networking is very fun!

Hi Codexual, I appreciate you creating content like this! The advice for resetting your modem to change your IP address isn't accurate. Your external IP address is assigned to you from your internet provider. If its set to DHCP, then it "may" change once the address lease expires, otherwise you'll just receive the same address. If your provider has assigned you a static IP address, resetting your modem does nothing.

recently, it was discovered that es file explorer had a backdoor in it this whole time allowing anyone to grab files off your phone from the same network, it's possible that some phones, especially Chinese brand ones, have a similar backdoor for government use but can also be abused by anyone who knows about it

Some people can find your data using your IP, but it's very hard and required contacts to ISP or your ISP suppliers. Also don't just turn off and on immediately your devices. It might not work because ISPs reserve a IP to your machines for a while (maybe an hour?). Just turn it off for the night and you're done.

@@delete9328 i understand your point, but if you teach someone to respect what they are learning then they will be way less likely to do harm, you can do alot more damage making your own programs etc than by knowing tricks like these. Me for example growing up i didnt have access to a computer but school had one, i was around 9 at the time i didn't know of any programs or anything but i played around with the code of the school server webpages and changed a bunch of names to random dumb names, which affected the whole network of computers lol and i had to sit down with a couple of teachers to go through the 20+ names i changed. If coding wasn't fearedand taught more that never would have happened because then i would have known someone spent ages typing that up in the first place, and i had to experiment on a live system with important files, now people can run Virtual machines and such, booting an entirely different OS is easy to do from a usb to experiment on. Then teach people the ways they can use these positively and negatively(to an extent of course, you could teach people steal account information through hacking but you wouldn't give the routes on where to look for these things, case studies are amazing you can find stories where young hackers stole alot of money off some old lady and destroyed her life to the point she didn't t to leave the house. Sorry to rant but i think its worth thinking about, code is used in almost everything...

What can someone do with an IP? A lot of things. Track you, ddos you, deauth you, use your IP for malicious things and have you take the fall, RAT you,etc.

@codexual you'r are clearly not understanding how things work. "If clicked on as an authenticated admin" means something. It doesn't give you admin permissions.

I understood it similarly. When you are logged in as admin and execute the get request it will execute an sql statement that sends of the Database to sleep for 10 seconds. Not sure for what this is good for except you have obtained the Admin-Login beforehand and make the system unusable by executing this get request every 11 seconds.

i woudln't be so sure about sharing my ip like that... and logging all the traffic going through your router is not gonna help identifying where a ddos attack is comming from, that's the thing about ddos. it stands for *distributed* denial of service attack, meaning that the attack is comming from multiple different sources around the globe at the same time.

Knowing how to hack has also nothing to do about using pre-made exploits and randomly apply these to remote hosts. Hacking is about finding vulnerabilities and devising exploits in order to make use of them. Anyone using pre-made scripts to "hack" his neighbor's computer/modem is a script kiddie in my books.

Partially right. Pentesters most of the time just use finished scripts and tools aswell as it just takes too much time to code everything yourself. I would very well call them (ethical) hackers aswell,

Most security professionals use community exploits in their JOBS as HACKERS to earn MONEY while testing for vulnerabilities, They leave it up to infosec researchers to find problems. your just a skiddy trying to act cool sit down. You could always run NMAP and see which ports they’re running for certain programs, but if they’re smart, they’re running port 443 on an unknown port and running port 80 on something random as well. Well-establishes port numbers should never be used for those things
