Suzanne talks with Dr. Christopher Kerr, author of "Death Is But A Dream," a study of hospice patients and the kinds of experiences they often have at end of life.
It's a surprisingly hope-filled conversation about leaving this life and the "dreams" or visions experienced by those about to transition. These experiences, most often deeply comforting and healing for both patients and their caregivers, consist of feeling the presence of loved ones who've gone before. Suzanne's listeners well know that love and life are eternal, so there are no surprises here, but it is exciting to see how science approaches what we know to be true.
You can find out more about Dr. Kerr's work with Hospice and Palliative Care of Buffalo, as well as his book and the documentary by the same name at www.drchristopherkerr.com/

He will share with us the powerfully comforting and meaningful dreams and visions often experienced at end of life, as detailed in his book, Death Is But A Dream.
From Dr. Kerr: "As a hospice physician, I have been at the bedside of thousands of patients who, in the face of death, often speak of love, meaning and grace. Their concern goes beyond the physical dimensions of dying to embrace nonphysical experiences which include remarkable and transforming pre-death dreams and visions.
"The data are convincing that there exists a better, less fearful aspect to end of life which includes these inner, subjective experiences. In multiple studies, we have demonstrated that the majority of dying patients experience pre-death dreams which are described as “more real than real” and increase in frequency as death nears. These dreams and visions typically bring comfort to the patient and their loved ones and often include the transition from distress to acceptance."
This promises to be a great show laced with stories that will open you even more to the awareness of the greater reality of which we're all a part! See you Thursday at 4:00 Eastern on Facebook Live and KZfaq Live!

Hello, my mom just passed a couple of weeks ago. She was under hospice care with me. The evening before my mother passed I could smell my grandmother. My mother passed about 12 hours later.

I believe in an afterlife, and although I was beyond devastated to see my father dying in hospital, I watched in awe as things were unfolding. I watched as my father raised his arm towards the ceiling, and then watching his arm fall gently to his side, many, many times. At one point, after having spent much time with his eyes closed and not speaking, he sat up, looked at me and said, 'I want to go!' I said in amazement, 'where do you want to go, Dad?' And he said, 'home!' Then he lay back down. He made a mention of 'home' 4 times that afternoon. I knew which 'home' he meant. Truly astounding!

One of the most beautiful quotes on death I've seen is by Lucius Annaeus Seneca : The day which we fear as our last is but the birthday of eternity.💞

My mum told me she was seeing her mum (and occasion her dad) just before she passed over. Mostly it was her mum and she said she came and cuddled her. This was in the last two months but more often in the last few days., just before she died a few days she asked me if I believed Jesus opens his arm and hears our heart. I said I did and she said that’s good because he does I’ve seen it. ❤️ she also told be just the day before she passed that her mum was with her. and I she to me I was to know that wherever she ( my mum) was, she’d always be with me. I believe this .

I was with my dear friend 4 weeks ago as he transitioned from cancer at age 49. It was a deeply profound, also shocking from a physical perspective to witness... and equally Sacred. I felt his ENORMOUS Spirit as he left the body. I am forever changed by my Journey with him. Suzanne, I bless you again and again for your work upon this planet, and honor this BEAUTIFUL interview. Godbless..

Having been a bedside nurse this resonates profoundly. I have worked with someone very similar to Dr. Kerr- a privilege. If only we in the industry could figure out how to utilize this wisdom on a broader scale within our healthcare system. This was lovely to watch. Lessons MDs are taught by nurses- a whole book could be written👍

What a lovely interview, and I can say I've seen it from both sides, I worked in a care home and it was very common that people saw and spoke to departed loved ones before they die, and also my mum who had dementia, but a week or so before she passed just asked very matter of fact, was checking that her sister 'Maureen had died hadn't she' not wanting to upset her again, but we said yes, she had quite a while ago, to that she just replied with a smile, 'oh well she's sitting in that chair waiting for me, she has a red coat on and looks beautiful, it was so comforting to know that her beloved sister was waiting for her, mum died the following week x

I love this. My mom was having dreams and visions to before her crossing over. Her parents came to her my brother. She even told me she would be back with them before her b day. She was this in Oct of 2019. She crossed in 11 2019 and her b day is 12 10. I was blessed to witness spirit speak thru my mom also on 10 29 19. I will never forget it. I come from a family of believers. My grandpa told my aunt days before his crossing that he was going home soon bit would be around. He said that my grandmother told him be ready you are coming home soon. Too many things to share. Thank u for this show. 💓

This interview was so comforting to me. Our 24 year old son died of depression (suicide). Dr. Kerr confirmed that our son will be there too when I and my husband and our surviving son cross over. We want to be here for our son, but I look forward to my death. It will be a big reunion because I have 3 siblings that died when they were babies.

Thank you Suzanne for all you do it’s so comforting & true… when my dad was close to transitioning he also (as someone else said) held his arms up in welcoming gestures & he said to me “I’ve got to get ready, I’ve got to go” … he also said to someone we couldn’t see “oh I’ve missed you so much” & he told my mum about a beautiful amazing place he’d just been to in vivid detail (my dad had dementia & couldn’t even talk a sentence let alone describe a beautiful utopia)… also a few days before his passing I could smell things in the house that no one else could like the smell of fish & chips, that was my grandma come for dad, as we would always go to the fish & chip restaurant so it was very poignant… honestly I knew my grandparents were there to take dad across the veil to be with them & all my other loved ones, there is no doubt about it, it was as clear as day🌈🌼🤲🏻💫💫💫

My husband passed suddenly a few months ago, and after almost 52 years together there was no hospice, no final goodbyes. All I have now read talks of hospice and yes, my dad died in hospice and there was something I saw when he passed, that brought comfort. My question, what about those of us that have suffered sudden death of a loved one, has anyone ever studied, what happens at their end of life? I really would love to hear comments. I meditate and pray and I know his spirit is with me, but I pray that his last few moments in the world were painless.

Suzanne, thank you. this is so beautiful info shared between you and Dr Kerr. I have watched 2 sisters take a sister who just passed. They left together thru a top window in the chapel as we had spread rose petals for love over her casket. Beautiful to see.

Suzanne, my girlfriend had suffered from alcoholism and several mental disorders. She took her own life in January. My question is my love for her seemed to be very deep. I’m not sure if it was something spiritual or it was the trama bonding that was there because of her ailments. I want her to be my soulmate but unsure if that’s what it was. Thank you for what you do.
