In this video I review a Smart Vibration Sensor and then I show you some really fun and cool things that you can do with one of these smart home devices. This Vibration Sensor is a Tuya Zigbee device and its one of my favourite smart home devices currently available at the moment. #smarthouse #smarthome #smarthomegadgets

First time finding your channel. Vibration sensor must be one of the hardest smart home devices to find a use for but some interesting ideas here. Thanks. Can I ask what the opener/closer for your smart door is?

Thank you for your comment, the smart door is just using this Articulated Swing Arm Motor kzfaq.info/get/bejne/ishdetKT1LnUgH0.htmlsi=IEm6GYbGsOFx_wMn

Interesting but most of these seem like pointless uses for a vibration sensor. Mostly because of the potential for false positives. I think most of these cases would be better suited to a smart button or NFC tag. I know that you are trying to show some out of the box ideas. Probably one of the better examples I’ve seen for a vibration sensor is on a laundry machine. It’s a good way to send alerts when the machine is in a different part of the house and the load needs to be moved to the dryer. Of course your bird bath use seems practical.

Hi, can you please share the device you use to automate your window? I didnt even know such a device existed for the wind up style windows. Thanks for this video - i like the idea of using a vibration sensor to turn my pc off at end of the day - im going to buy some sensors and play around with them

Sure but it's not a wind up style window. It's just a chain drive system motor a.aliexpress.com/_mroKEO6 Thank you

My upstairs neighbor is harassing me by purposely banging on my ceiling. Can this record data which will document that? Thank you.
@SHORTwithTECH

LOL, um, well yes it can. You could also use it to setup an automation to stop your neighbour from doing that to you. I used to have a neighbour like that aswell so I feel your pain my friend

You could open and close the window both triggered by the vibration sensor. the related automation just need to know if the wondow is opened ore closed, when you knock on the ledge. Door&Window sensor?
@SHORTwithTECH
@SHORTwithTECH 5 ай бұрын
Yep your exactly correct, you could use a contact sensor to solve the problem easily but using the vibration sensor alone as seen in the video, it is not possible (atleast not with this particular vibration sensor anyway)

@@SHORTwithTECH It depends on the intelligence behind the routine. If you just trigger the action to open the window you are right. If you can store the action performed you could switch between 2 action easily. But to build that kind of automation more background information is required.

Knock on the door to have it open for you? Are you serious? ... What's wrong with a handle? FML.... Window vibration... I'll just bang on your window from outside to burgle your house... great security! Kettle vibration... great, who fills up the kettle then? Because if that's not automated, why wouldn't you just flick the switch? Toilet seat... it's not water proof and you put it on a toilet seat... and when you sit on the toilet you get the sensor in your back... I think you're just trolling now. Table vibration... and when I put the cup of coffee on the table that I've just made with my kettle, my TV turns off... genius! Vacuum sensor... I'm not sure why you need the vibration sensor for that, just make it part of the routine when the door closes. Your video succesfully demonstrated how pointless the vibration sensor is.... and you are a master troll.

@@SHORTwithTECH best of luck to you with your channel in 2024 as well. I think you might have hit a winning formula here... come up with some hilariously bad ideas for home automation presented as seriously as possible. I'd watch that and you'll be pretty unique in the home automation KZfaq space. I'm sure there are endless really dumb things you could automate!

Window - just have it so the automation only works when the alarm system is disarmed. Also window - if this was done in Home Assistant his issue with only being able to do one function would be removed
