Henry is so right, I’ve said it for years that some of the strikers from the mid-90’s to mid-00’s would have a field day in modern football and the way the rules are so heavily in the favour of the attacking player! Look at Michael Owen, in 7 full seasons with Liverpool he scored 117 goals in 214 appearances but was absolutely kicked viciously week in, week out, had his shirt pulled and so on. … put him in the right team built to get the most out of him today and there would be defenders getting red cards left, right and centre

@@DirtyJamesUK literally from another continent, fam. Chill. Rooney is a striker in the image of English football. A nugget of a man, immensely capable and if you saw him on the street wouldn't guess he was a world leading athlete, most importantly he liked the physicality. You wouldn't say he was meant for it, merely he grew up in the game and was molded by its physicality. Erling is literally like a player built in a FIFA game. There has been players that big before but never as strong, athletic and skilled. He is comparatively wasted in Ligue 1 or Serie A ie born for English football.

@@blue-pi2kt that's not true at all but thanks for explaining. Thousands of footballers grow up in the game in England. Rooney was clearly very unique. Perhaps that escaped your attention but its definitely true. Funnily enough Haaland is one of very few youngsters I rated highly and would have liked at United. Wayne was the first player I really hoped we'd sign. I hoped we'd sign Haaland for a bit so he was the 2nd. I'm glad we didn't though. I wouldn't have liked to watch his career go badly at United.
