A lot of viking age clothes websites say that men did wear trousers. And nearly every one i know wears woollen or linen trousers. I normally wear linen under shorts a linen over trousers and sometimes leg wraps. But wear one or two linen under tunics and my green woollen over tunic. Plus helmet. shield .Seax axe. I never carry my swords there's to many people carrying them but wearing the wrong class of clothing.then cloak .hood. woollen hat .mittens .scarf and socks. I do have an arming cap for under the helmet. But i normally just wear my woollen hat under the helmet. I do personally like a wider belt with belt bag small knife and money pouch.

Thanks for the comment. I understand, but litterally all the iconography from the time, almost exclusively shows braise and single leg hosen for French and Anglo-Saxons. So I think trousers are less likely, hence my choice. Whilst there are two trouser finds in Scandanavia - there are also hosen finds too. I agree, too many swords at re-enactment events. Textile armour is debateable for this time period - I opted not to use any for this impression.
