I do NOT miss how rude tax drivers were in Minneapolis. Forcing you to use cash, take you to an ATM if you didn’t have any, and discrimination at times. I enjoy drivers being vetted and a simple charge to my card when I exits. No negotiations or haggling. Maybe if taxi drivers treated their clients better they too would have had a market share.

other local companies will take their place. simple as that. it might take time but anything is better than those leeches. uber and lyft charge customers a huge amount and then give drivers pennies while touting that they give drivers about $33 or 70% of the fare. and then they will lobby and do everything in their power to not get cities/states to pass a minimum wage, even though according to them they pay drivers a lot more. shows how idiotic these companies are.

If uber/lyft pulls out just get your PERMIT to drive and fill that void yourself as drivers!

you can easily see through the Uber and Lyft lies. these apps are saying drivers are making little over $33 per active hour and not mentioning how many miles the drivers are averaging per hour or what is the tip in that pay. and now they're complaining they have to pay minimum wage. these drivers as independent have to cover the complete expenses related to their vehicle and as independent they should be able to pay their own health insurance sick pay or vacation pay but they can't. Uber and Lyft are exploiting these drivers and paying them less than $10 an hour when they use their own cars. f uber and lyft. expenses are 0.65 cents per mile per IRS

So true @jaygro. Empower is coming to the Twin Cities. Drivers who sign up for that app are independent. They keep the whole fare and pay a subscription for the app. No middleman gouging at both ends. Rides are cheaper. They'll be in Minneapolis by May 1.

I know most of you don’t even know this, but dispatchers have been doing this to independent truckers for tens of years. Raking in the 💰 and the truckers have to fill their own trucks and get paid about 20% of what the dispatcher gets in the dispatcher actually does nothing except tell you where to go and how much you’re getting paid.

You better be ready to pay more. This uber/lift driver are fooling themselves thinking they will make more. The winner are the taxi company and most of these drivers probably won't get hired as taxi driver.

These scammers are not going to leave , they make a lot of money charging customers $100 while paying the drivers$19 ,who do all the work and put gas in the car , have car repair and car depreciation , we have a lot of operation cost that this is not sustainable anymore ,while the apps keep 60% 80% of the fare , honestly drivers feel like we are just working to put gas in the tank and continue driving the next day , you would say why you don’t get another job ? Well there is a psychological component here , I put it this way , Uber and Lyft did what drug dealers do , go around and give drug for free and get people hooked and then they can do whatever they want , we are ll addicted to the apps , you as a rider are not willing to go back to the traditional way of moving in taxis and give up true apps , we drivers like quick cash every day doing ride share and it’s not like a drivers will get a job tomorrow and we have families to feed , so the apps are not going to leave the gold mine cause that’s what it is a gold mine, they are making millions of the back of drivers and over charging passengers

If Uber & Lyft leave, Doordash & GrubHub will be flooded with drivers.

Cab drivers will have a field day with them being gone. Still remember the days when they don't care and price gouge the passengers. They will drive you around the blocks and charge you stupid $$$. I'm not a big fan of uber/lyft but at least they shook the industry. It started out as a side gig for ppl to drive and make extra cash. But when you start treating it like a full time job then who is it to blame.

Everybody in Minneapolis should not worry about Uber orLyft this will generate more income for the city. They’ll have to do background checks on all the drivers sell permits for drivers for the same drivers they are driving in the Uber or Lyft platform could easily do private rides in the area. There won’t be an impact to it.
