Summer is ending, but there was just enough time to add in one more cool ride for our fleet :)

Elizabeth Harttley he does respond on here some, I’ve seen several replies from him on this video alone. I know he can’t respond to everyone but it is nice to see that he is responding to a few which means he does see our comments but it’s just 90-95% of them don’t require a response from him. I now must go searching through old family photos as there was one of my grandmother as she was getting out of one of those cars after arrival on one of their trips. I’m hoping I find it and that she wrote which park on the back and wouldn’t it be cool if it’s a picture of the one Alex bought. I’ll send Alex a copy should I find it. She was born in 1904 and passed away at the age of 101 and was telling stories of her life right up until the end. Many of her stories were of their many trips.

@@CuriosityIncorporated Alex, just Google "Woodie Wagen National Park" and you will find a nice assortment of pics. There are some in the Parks and one guy has one that appears to be the same model as yours. It is likely restored to original specs...color, spare tire on the side, etc.

@@jaytomson7052 I agree! I've found some antique dealers to be rather stuffy and condescending. (I'm not a collector, so maybe if I were my experience would be different.) Alex is a breath of fresh air. Knowledgable, mult-talented, humorous, quirky, and personable.

That's the color of a Hershey bar wrapper. Kind of a mix of burgundy and brown. Once waxed it will be sharp as a tack. Love it Alex!

I bought that Pink Floyd record the day it came out. That's how you get up to 4000 records! However, I haven't managed to buy 4000 cars - I'll leave that to Alex.

vinyl1Earthlink, I've lost count at the number of vinyl albums I have. Kind of like the corny old potato chip commercial, you can't have just one. Thrift stores, antique shops, yard sales and eBait have been my downfall. I've set aside one bedroom in my house for my music collection and it is full! Also reel to reel tapes, 8-tracks, cassettes and a collection of CD's along with all the equipment needed to play it all. Sterile sounding CD's are okay but I still love the sound of an old classic vinyl record best. Ever since the Chinese came out with the cheap junk under various old-time great brands to fake people out but all being a Crosley, record prices have started to get higher and higher.

Wow! love the wagon! I think those truckers who do car transport are some of the bravest out there. Mr. N had 5 cars delivered once and they were among other cars and the guys were climbing over the racks with ease shifting the racks and moving the cars around. It made me nervous to watch. At first I thought maybe the Rolls was coming home.

Great car Alex. The father and son from Tennessee certainly looked out for you. I suspect that someone cleaned the interior before sending it as the dashboard looked pretty clean. What a lovely piece from a time gone by. I too still watch Episodes of the Waltons and always loved the old cars and trucks on that show. Great effort by all to get you that vehicle. You are blessed to have such people in your life.Great video.

It’s actually fun to load and unload a car hauler. The scary one is the position of the Jeep over the cab of his truck. It’s backed on, and he has to get out of it up there. After the first 5-6 cars it’s more fun than scary.

I absolutely love that wagon! The Buick brings back so many memories. First car I ever pulled over and parked on my own in traffic in the middle of Minneapolis, Minnesota. I stuck to my Dad like glue he had severe heart problems and taught me at about 8yrs old how to get his legs moved put his pill under his tounge and pull the car over and call for help on the CB radio. Scared me half to death myself he pr ef tended to pass out! But I did it! He was so happy he was laughing. He passed away about a year later. It was white over deep red. I always liked the vents on the sides. I have alot of great memories with him. Thanks for shareing all you do.

Nice wheels Alex. You do find the darndest things. Just a few small touch ups cosmetically and the vehicle is like new. It probable doesn't need much mechanical work either to the running gear, breaks, transmission and so on. Great find.

If you're going to use the woody for pickups, change the carb to fuel injection and electronic ignition to make it more dependable. I think Edelbrock makes a bolt on kit that will replace the carb and even looks like a carb.

It's definitely time for a very good rub down and re-treatment of the woodwork, and I noticed a broken slat in the roof, which could be a pain. But overall it's a great looking woody, and the three passenger door configuration has got to make it that little bit more unusual...

Dent tricks - try this before the hammer. take a deflated soccer ball and place it behind the dent. The soccer ball goes between the dent and what ever you use to brace the ball. Next add air to the ball. You can use different sized balls on different sized dents. Hammers are a last resort and they take some talent to use them without stretching the metal.

Alex, In the forties Dad purchased an old woody for use as a farm vehicle. The wood and cloth had rotted away, so he stripped it down and planked the back and turned it into a truck. I will always remember , bumping through the chicken range with grain sacks for the chickens. Years later after the car had been "retired", I opened up the windshield washer casing which was over the from window of the vehicle. It was clean and shiny like a Swiss watch real craftsmanship! I just love your modified Woody, it has so much class ,but it doesn't have the throttle and choke controls attached to the steering wheel. Thanks for the memories, Cheers, Rik Spector

As for the old Buick not having room to haul things, you might consider keeping you eye out for a vintage looking covered trailer, that matches close as possible, the Buick lines. You’d have to paint it the same color.

If you're cleaning the tank, might as well try and see if you can pop the whole fender and remove the dent over a bit of leather (you can make a cheap and quick leather patch with an old leather jacket and some sand, you don't even need to remove the sand from the bag, just wrap the leather around it and punch the sand until it shapes to the fender's curve.
