Soldier Boy wasn't at full power when he fought Homelander. He had already blown up and shot his blast. There is one line I wish they had done differently - "You think you look strong? You're wearing a cape." It should have been: "You think you look strong? You're wearing a blanket." (This would be a call back to the Set-Dec blanket scene and also a way to cut Homelander down as still a young boy, instead of The Man).

This episode was so entertaining that I can't even resist watching someone else watch it. Some people who read the comics felt they toned it down too much, but it may be my favorite episode of the series regardless. So many surprises and payoffs. I wasn't expecting a fight until the finale, and it was a more exciting scrap than some big budget battle with heroes throwing each other through buildings. That ep was a blast from start to finish, and your reaction did not disappoint, Irene.

If they even attempted to copy the comic books version, the show would be of air and the writers locked up for life 😂😂 jk but for real i think people forgot that there's just certain things you can't do on tv despite what this show gets away with already. I wasn't disappointed.

@@ZACK67931 I read a few early issues, but didn't make it to Herogasm. Even they went beyond what any major streamer like Amazon would show. Seemed like it was trying a little too hard to be shocking. And the characters didn't feel charismatic like they do on the show. I might go back and read them once the show ends it's run, which hopefully won't happen any time soon.

@Punko1969 honestly those comics are funny, like back when i was at college they were the kinda thing you'd discuss and look at while giggling like kids, i have all the issues and there are some very clever moments, the storytelling isn't all bad but it is mostly just insane shock value and i have no real desire to look at them again, they are amusing smut 😂 the show has the crassness that the comics have, but with a lot more heart and intelligence behind it.

There was an interesting moment when the Soldier Boy saw a man with a child on TV. He said that "Bill Cosby is an American dad" and "he made strong drinks," which surprised Huey. The fact is that in 2018, 80-year-old actor Bill Cosby was found guilty of sexual harassment and mixing drugs into another person's alcohol😅

Bill Cosby was found guilty of (g)rape and he did this to many women. The crazy thing is that people in the Entertainment industry knew about this and did NOTHING.

Homelander being the narcissistic prick that he is, was genuinely hurt that butcher would dare to match his abilities. He wanted to fight him, but was confused the moment he was faced with it unexpectedly which was satisfying as hell and it shows homelander isn't as invincible as he believed, at some point they are bringing soldier boy back apparently so who knows what will happen next time. Considering what happens in episode 8 though, i don't think he'll want to help Butcher again ha

This episode was insane when people hyped this episode up before I thought it was some sort of cataclysmic event buuuut then I read the title of the episode and I was like “oooooooh crap well this gonna be crazy to say the least” and holy crap it was and I can’t lie I nearly threw up especially when MM got covered in stuff in the herogasm part but either way it was amazing

I believe they were collateral damage. Even the Avengers have collateral damage. But I still think he was simply Homelander v1.0.
