I can't think of another number with two such contrasting yet totally complimentary solos. Lovebites, a once in a generation band. It doesn't get better this, I only hope Lovebites continue and that the hiatus does not last too long.

LOVEBITES songs have a lot of lyrics that bring an uplifting feeling and give the listener the courage to face difficulties. I've heard several times that people with depression are actually listening to LOVEBITES songs to relieve their symptoms. Ironically, however, leader Miho (bass guitar), who left the band, confessed that he had been suffering from depression for a long time.

Oh yeah, Thrash done LIVE as only LB can can. Start with Slayer, slide into Maiden then Metallica and back to Slayer before Miyako does her best "Gary Moore" weeping Les Paul solo. Of course, Miyako has to drop in the Deep Purple salute with the organ off that foot-board coming back into the Thrash!!! Asami may have been a backup RnB/Jazz/Soul singer wit a ballerina background but she has really grown into her roll as a lead vocalist and stage general with this band especially when they do Thrash. She more than anyone else here has really improved her LIVE performances over the years and at 4' 10" it is unreal how she thunders out over the flawless music behind her. I love her "Burn in Helll" line from such a positive sweet personality. Midori is the shredding fingers of death but she is also just as wicked when she gets the acoustic guitar to weep like in Frozen Serenade. When they do Thrash forget your face it is your brain that is melted!!!!

As they consider themselves the lone wolves of heavy metal and are in complete contrast to everything else that we are all so used to, a male dominant, doom, dark, and dreary metal. They are Breaking the Wall into a brighter and new white metal of pure, enlightening, and uplifting lyrics that go against the norm. That is what I get out of this song, they can show just how powerful they can play but teach us a new way to enjoy metal.

This showcases Thrash Metal in perfection! "Break the Wall", "Set the World on Fire" and "The Hammer of Wrath" are not only my favourite songs by Lovebites, but threee of my overall favourite Thrash Metal songs, especially as regards the guitar solos! The main riff of this song reminds me of Testament's "Over the Wall" (from my favourite Thrash Metal album in 1987) and while this version sounds as raw as Testament way back then, Lovebites' sound is better and they play on a higher level.

Been retired 4 years. Hard Rock - Metal head. 3.5 yrs ago cleaning garage CD player DOA, radio sucks. Daughter showed me KZfaq and Babymetal. Yeah Babymetal. BUT, that lead me to Band-Maid, then Lovebites, then Mary's Blood, then: Aldious Doll$Boxx Bridear Nemophila Hanabie Show-Ya ...and so many more that this old rocker can't remember... All Female, Japanese. Also Unlucky Morpheus n Wagakki Band. Felt rock had died. Nope. It moved to Japan.

Heh, Midori tries her best to do a P.S.S. (Pointless Slayer Solo) and it just ends up being better than any Slayer solo anyway! (I'm a Slayer fan btw). Just thankful at all the Japanese ladies who've taken up the metal torch and keep it burning.

Great Reaction again. Since you're interested in the lyrics, many of their videos have been subtitled. Really helps you to understand Asami better - and they are great and mostly positive lyrics. For a different side of Lovebites check out Swan Song (with the Chopin intro), where Miyako (black haired guitarist) opens by playing a Chopin etude on Classical piano.
