Xanaha :3 true, but we do have access to the type of technology that would make exploration more feasible than it was back then. At the very least they’d be able to get clean visual and sound of what’s down there and bring it back for all to see. Or they could be killed by it. 🤷🏼♂️ either way in the name of science they’d probably do it if it was going to be fully funded.

Granted, they really don’t teach stuff about the ocean in schools. In my school, oceanography was not required and was a fairly easy class to pass. I learned more about the ocean in that class than I had for the past 11 years. Learning about the ocean is very optional, but most people are shown movies like Jaws and The Meg way before they’re taught about the ocean. It paints a false picture of the ocean for many people.

That's because it is fake. A VERY dramatic retelling of what the original 2 divers went through when they went to the bottom of the ocean for the area they picked (about 10000 meters down). There are indeed audio clips of the original interview of one of the divers and....only 2 things in this video are true (although massively dramatized). 1) they did indeed hear a massive BANG sound on the hull that sounded like metal on metal that they had no idea what it was and it freaked them out. However....what the video doesn't tell you is that when they went to the surface they found out what it was. One of the windows in the depressurization section of the ship (only accessible when entering and exiting the vessel) cracked heavily under the pressure from going that deep. 2) they hit the bottom, and they stayed for about 20 minutes. And all they saw was.....sand. them hitting the bottom of the floor kicked up so much sand that it floated around them and blocked their vision through the windows for the entire duration of their stay. Eventually, they did indeed become unnerved, but the interview states that it was mostly with worry that they needed to get back to the top quick or else their rescue vessel might not be able to find them if it was no longer daylight out (although, I'd be willing to bet money they were probably also somewhat unnerved by being at the bottom of the sea with literally no vision where no one else had gone before, even if their interview doesn't state as much). But...that's all there is to that story. This video....is a trip, I'll definitely say, but anyone whose heard the original audio clips of the divers or read their interviews....is gonna be immediately turned off by how....utterly dramatized this video is.

Title: 'what did scientists really see in the mariana trench?' My assumptions: Nothing other than what's been made public. Video summary: 3 minutes about what scientists saw and heard down there: (practically nothing new to me) just large amoeba who highly likely were merely jellyfish, noise which sounded like metal grinding over metal... Again just the metal struggling under such immense pressure. Furthermore there are people not even near the trench describing a megalodon-sized shark, but keep in mind that people exaggerate most things and they probably saw just an adult great white shark, and some dumb-ass people who thought it'd be a great idea to dump nuclear waste in the trench until the investigators down there declared that the water isn't stationary thereby saving us from radioactive oceans. Just the basic stuff in most informative youtube videos. Only 3 or 4 minutes dedicated to the subject shown in the title, and the remaining 10 minutes dedicated to things bearing little to no connection to the 'main' subject.

You can’t say a creature is extinct when only 5% of the ocean have been discovered
@freezer77904 жыл бұрын
the rest of that 95% is the deep parts and the places that are in the middle of nowhere. megalodons are e x t i n c t. they could not live in the mariana trench, and if they were alive, they wouldn’t want to live in there, they’d be at the top, there’s no reason why they would or adapt to live there. and they couldn’t adapt to live there, not even whales could go down there. they ate large fish and whales, which don’t live in the mariana trench. it’s also extremely cold down there. megalodons went extinct because of the waters getting colder and no food.
