Harry said he showed the Queen several episodes of Suits I guess after he met her . I dont know how that worked . Im sure she was vetted in some way before they went out . They were the only two in a private club except for the wait staff and security . What would you call that . It was basically a blind date . I mean of course she knew "of him" You would have to have been born under a rock not to. It was not like they were friends at that time . They really did not know each other . But they must have run in the same circles they did have a mutual friend

Not all actresses are terrible people with nefarious motives. She is quite the philanthropist and volunteers often. Even the royal family has parted with many of their traditions.

She as a B tv show actress at best with a few cameos in movies. You really think George Clooney and Oprah heard of her before the Harry connection. Her future was suits. And when that ends, then what? It’s not like she was splattered all over People magazine about being a Hollywood starlet. Never heard of suits or her before Harry.

Well, she broke up her marriage with HER LAST HUSBAND by mailing her wedding rings to him. Wow. That's cold blooded. She dumped her chef boyfriend to date party prince. Rumor has it she was married when she went to Northwestern University but alas it was annulled after 2 years. Not sure of that one. I'd never heard of her before all this wedding thing. She is 4 years older in her late 30s, so there seems to be an extra stressor for her to hurry up and have kids, whereas if she was in the 20s or early 30s, it wouldn't be an issue. I just see in her eyes, "look what a big fish I landed." It was a sort of long distance relationship, for relatively short period of time, so how well do they know each other? Oh well, let the chips fall where they may. Good luck.

Yeah, I'm an American and I had never heard of her before their engagement. I Googled her. In addition to "Suits," her acting career includes being a suitcase model on "Deal Or No Deal." She was never some famous A-list actress on the cover of every magazine here. In the engagement interview, my opinion was that she was trying too hard to play this submissive wife role. When the media and the Palace have tried to glorify her humanitarian efforts, I've wondered why. So she went to Rwanda once? My mom is a nurse and has gone to Rwanda every year for the last 8 years. I've gone with her 3 times. I've also gone on service trips to Thailand with an anti human trafficking organization to do vocational training for women who've survived brothels. I just... I don't see what's so impressive about Meghan's one trip to Rwanda. It's like they had nothing else to say about her so they built on that.

I live in Canada and from my perspective when she stayed here she quickly got to know the Who’s Who in Toronto and I believe her to be a social climber. Maybe they had never heard of how one another is, but knew of each other yes. When I'm invited to a get together, I always ask, who's going? If it would've been someone I heard of, but don't know them, that makes sense and that's what I think happened. They realized they had so much in common.

Rebecca Morgan It more of a social status thing. People with red hair are assumed unattractive, and therefore less than. Because it's such a rare hair colour, it's easy to be prejudice against. That being said times are rapidly changing. Millennials are a lot more tolerant of than the older generation.

Betsy Schuyler I had never seen Suits as I don’t have cable tv, but I had seen her on some of the talk shows making her rounds to promote Suits. I’m pleasantly surprised to find that she has done so much on the road to her destiny. She was homecoming queen at her high school...a small sign of what was before her.

1st impressions of her..........i think you're right. i jumped over and watched the interview of her and Harry, and had to turn it off after just seven minutes after getting toothache from her sugary sweetness, which seemed fake or at least forced and unnatural. never watched her show. completely unfamiliar with her, but she seems very "cookie cutter" and didn't stand out as different or particularly interesting at all. Here in America, we have the impression of Harry as being somewhat of a rebel (maybe mistakenly). you'd think he'd choose someone less sort of........just like every other girl.........and more interesting. oh well. don't really g.a.f..........just sayin'

Yes harry has been a bit of a rebel. A bit like princess Margaret,,, had alot more freedom because she was and he is the "spare" so to speak. But the British all love harry. Because he is such a cheeky chap. But then works hard. He is a grown man now. Makes his own choices. But I'm not so sure many of the British people are very impressed with his choice. But we arnt married to her. He is. I personally detest the woman. She seems to of pulled against all the rules. But Harry is obviously besotted by her. Let him go live where he wants. But it will be very interesting to watch things unfold over the next ten years x

So what, you haven't heard of her. No one heard of Kate, Fergie or Diana either until they started dating their husbands. Meghan wasn't a big name star but she wasn't a struggling actress either. She may hold on to him for support, can any of of imagine what it's like to go from being able to LIVE a normal life to people trying to break into your home just to get a glimpse of the person Harry is dating? And not being able to be normal because EVERYTHING is dissected and analyzed. That's why Harry's last two relationships failed. So you don't know her. She has to be strong to put up with the HORRIFIC things that's printed DAILY about her. She's literally HATED because she met and fell in love with Harry and he reciprocated.

I've never believed for a second that Meghan didn't know Harry was a prince of the UK. Who doesn't know Princess Diana and her kids?What about his police escorts and others of his entourage? That wouldn't tip you off? I think she jumped at the chance to go out with him. I'd never heard of her or her show, and most of us today here in the US still wouldn't, had she not married into that family.

i just had a thought. The Frogmore Cottage has been servants quarters for some time now. Decades maybe? So the Queen has gifted this cottage to Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan. I find that very interesting and telling. In God's Word it says that whoever exalts themselves will be abased. Being given a servant's quarters even refurbished is a put-down for sure. Yes, it is a beautiful estate. However, to be moved from a palace to servant's quarters is definitely abasement. I do not think Prince Harry is the target. I believe Meghan being given this message from the Queen. I hope Meghan gets the message loud and clear.

I'm American and even I know the importance of English wit, tradition, and manners. She was given the message, but she was just too egotistical and not willing to learn. In her shoes, I would have taken a year or two to learn the traditions, customs, and culture.

No idea who she was, but I’m getting the impression that I’m the only one that adored her. As someone who has a really hard time keeping my hands and affections off my husband, I loved seeing that in her. I’m not terrible with PDA or anything unseemly, but I’m very encouraging and engaging with him-just tickled at being together 98% of the time. And we’ve been married for over 6 years. Can you imagine when we were engaged? I also think Harry looked delighted by it. He has always said that he’s a hugger, and he has shown he’s very sensitive to that kind of vibe. I don’t spend a lot of time thinking about famous people, but that he married an American, and a “sickly sweet” one, doesn’t surprise me. To me it seems he chose the kind of person who can make him really feel loved, and I’m all for it!

She’s an “actress,” & I use that term loosely. I think she married into the royal family to stay in the constant spotlight, & while she was a millionaire before, she’s worth so much more, now. Being a Duchess is just the biggest acting role she’s landed. I guarantee she gets pregnant sooner than later, to keep her claws attached to the royal family, but I don’t think that marriage will last in the long run.

I give Meghan all the credit in the world because it's a lot easier to evaluate and criticize her than to spend a month in her shoes leaving behind her country, her family and friends, her job and coworkers, meeting new inlaws, adjusting to a humongous family in a new country, etc. Meghan is a trooper extraordinaire and I can't think of anyone else who can handle all of this. And in the midst of all of this she smiles confidently whenever she steps out of the vehicle with her husband-to-be. She's awesome! No one else can do what she's doing.

Nicole, I think it's dishonest / disingenuous to say "Any woman would up and leave for a Prince" and then claim you're not jealous of Meghan. Just because you would up and leave for any prince doesn't mean that every woman would do the same. Over the last 2 yrs of their relationship they've had to deal with tabloid, media, and paparazzi ridiculing her in the press, racist/jealous women sending her hate mail and suspicious powder, and her half-siblings abusing her in the press. Through it all she's handled handled herself with remarkable poise, of course with Harry's support.

Ok, I get it. You dislike Meghan b/c you don't like the character she plays on Suits. (I would insert an emoji that scratches its chin here). No, Nicole I wouldn't divorce my husband, abandon my home, my children, and my business for any prince. Even if I weren't married do I feel that I'd be up to the task of marrying a man who's a prince, moving to another country, learning another language and customs, away from my family, following all of their rules and customs? I don't think I'd be able to do it and for that reason I give Meghan all the credit in the world, same with Kate. Marrying any one of these guys has its up side as well as its burdens. It is a very special woman who would commit to any of them and William and Harry know it very well. So in summary, I do believe you're jealous of Meghan BUT that's okay. It's just a human emotion. The proper way to handle that feeling of jealousy is to learn how to be happy for someone else and not let envy eat you up inside. Then move on. Sometimes good things happen for you. Sometimes good things happen for other ppl.

It was NOT a blind date it was a setup through a someone they both knew, but still a little confusion about who that person is I've heard two different people (Misha Nonoo an American Fashion Designer and/or Markus Anderson: Consultant for Soho House). And, I've heard both of them say when asked who introduced you? Using the word will won't give you "her" name to protect her privacy. They both knew who they were meeting Meghan even told a pal she was having lunch with because she couldn't container self. I've never met one person in US who watched Suites, (She was really just a non-known actress). But, let's let it all play out, time will tell. She's gobsmacked that she doesn't ever have to go to another audition, and stll play dress up and get more attention than she ever got as an actress. But, she's got A LOT of learning to do.

I know Ben mulrooney would have met up with him, and invite him to dinner at his home, where Jessica and meegan were waiting to meetl.I believe Jessica got paid off handsomely for the set up. I absolutely believe that. Ms markles waited for years for Harry to come visit mulrooneys in Toronto, which he does every couple years.

I think the big problem is that she is being compared to Kate. She's not like that. She's American. She's Californian. Kate is British. They are two different people. Kate is reserved. Guarded. Sporty, yes. But very British. And she has been trained for many many years to fit into the royal family. Whereas Meghan is American. Californian. An actress. A philanthropist. She grew up in Hollywood going to the sets her father worked on, mainly Married With Children. She grew up biracial in a country where race still means something. With a black mother who took her to soup kitchens to volunteer. She will get used to the protocol of being in the royal family but she will not change who she is. And I don't believe Harry wants her to change. He chose her for a reason. He likes America and Americans. He feels somewhat comfortable there and with them. He also loves Africa so a biracial woman is not a problem for him at all. This is going to be a case where the British will have to get used to her being different. And I believe they will. Once they catch onto who she is I think she will be very popular. Especially among younger Brits. Her fashion and charitable work will set trends much like Diana but in a different way

wpl I couldn't have said it better. Lol, these two are so obnoxious. .....saying she's fake, she tries to hard, lol, do u need to stick a pitch fork up their ass for British people to express any kind of emotion? They just hate her because she's American, and they hate her because she's biracial. I wish Meghan didn't have to give up her American citizenship.....that is a huge sacrifice! God bless her.

Mey Puim I don't think Joel and Lia don't like Meagan. They said they understood the nerves. They couldn't care less if she was biracial or green, or purple polka dotted. The only issue that I noticed they had was her outgoing vibrance. Joel and Lia are Brits. Brits like to be reserved, and proper. They will get used to her, and then fall in love with her just like Harry did.

The main thing that bothers me is the fact that Harry & Meghan didn’t do a special trip to Mexico to meet her father PRIOR to the engagement. Apparently they dated for 2 years & NEVER once made the journey to visit her father and properly asked for her hand in marriage. Especially being that her dad is a recluse, they should of made contact in person at least once. I think that’s why her dad refused to attend the wedding... they totally disrespected him by NEVER meeting him. I can’t imagine Charles or William NOT meeting Earl Spencer or Mr. Middleton prior to their respective engagement.

I don't know, she did sacrifice a lot including her career. And suits is still going strong, it was such an awkward exit for her from the show.Also she has been doing philanthropy for a long time now. Point is ..Love is strong between them..😍

Her time on suits was ending. Her on screen partner wanted out of the show. No "philanthropy" all photo ops and one time appearances. Nothing long term

Suits was not aired in the U.S. It was a Canadian Series. I had not heard of Suits or Meagan until the marriage announcements. I think after the whole Diana debackle the Royal Family backed away from this one.
