I want to say thank Dave for the insight to resolving my valve issue. This was an new zoned I added with a new valve and solenoid. After checking the voltage and ohms, afterward I applied a paper clip and repeating up and down motions for 15 seconds, replace solenoid, turn on the valve wow it worked.

My valve will only open if I open the bleed switch a little, while the solenoid is engaged. If I shut the bleeding while the solenoid is engaged, the valve stays shut. I guess the cause of this problem is the leakage from the bottom chamber is too strong into the upper chamber. But how? leaking diaphragm? How else? Please advise. Thank you so much.

My Rainbird valve doesn’t turn on manually turning the solenoid, the sprinklers don’t pop up, just low flow. What should I do? Thanks in advance

Mine turns on manually but not with the timer. Should I just replace the valve?

Hi, Bron! It is most likely not the valve, it's probably electrical and could be the controller not putting out power, a wiring problem between the controller and valve, or the solenoid on the valve. Hello Sir One of my valve on my sprinkler is not working with controller. It’s working manually when I do a quarter turn. I changed both the diaphragm and the solenoid and still have the same issue. I checked the ohms and it’s all in the correct reading . Do you know what will be my issue? Thank you!

With all due respect, you keep following possible electrical issues when you already established with the manual bleed screw that the valve won't open. You could have done that in the first 10 seconds.

My Rainbird valve quit opening. If I turn the solenoid it lets water through. So I replaced the solenoid and this did not fix the problem. I checked power and have power to the solenoid. To make it work I still have to turn or loosen the solenoid. What is the problem?

Hi, DIY Oregon - Thanks for the comment! It could be several issues that you're running into. Even though you're getting power to the solenoid, it might not be enough power. This would be the ohms test that Dave is referring to in the video. We have seen a valve get power before, but not have enough amps to make the solenoid work properly because the wire was damaged and losing voltage. Another issue would be whether the valve is porting properly. Once the solenoid opens, it has to port water from the solenoid chamber to the downstream side of the valve. If that gets clogged a valve will not open. Hope that helps!

@@AutomaticSupply Thanks, I bought a new transformer/adapter at Home Depot for $14. Fixed the problem and it works fine now.

I had a hunter SRC plus Seeing on the contral screen are Err . I Am turn on manual all station working ok. Do You known what Err meaning, and how to fix it.

Hi, Juliana! If it the "ERR" is the only response shown, it is electrical interference at the remote plug-in area. Make sure it is covered and doesn't have bare wires around it. If the ERR message is showing with a station number the problem would be found in the wires leaving the clock and going to that valve for that station. A short in the wires or a bad connection can cause ERR and still work. One option would be to take the battery out and unplug it. Wait ten minutes then try again. If it is still not working, we would recommend calling Hunter Industries tech support at 1-800-733-2823. Hope this helps!
