Hello Doctor, Does the characteristics of fallen hair indicate anything. I mean sometimes I get to see that the fallen hair has got white bulb on top and sometimes nothing (totally plan hair). Does this indicate anything. Because some doctors are claiming that if the fallen hair has white bulb then it's because androgenic alopecia if not then its vit deficiency is that true. Can you please throw some lights on this topic.

What do you guys think about mesotherapy in combination with dutasteride, both injected in the scalp. According to the doctor in the clinic here there will be no side effects (like impotente) because the dutasteride remains at the place of injection, what are your thoughts on this?

So when you say finasteride is going to give you a better chance in holding your hairs are you talking about the hairs that you currently have on top to the crown? and does that include the Transplanted Hair's or is the Transplanted Hair's excluded from the original native hair's????

hi androgen levels in men with androgenetic alopecia. in this research we can see serum DHT inhibition 0.05 mg --- 49.5% 0.2 mg --- 68.6% make sense but scalp skin DHT inhibition 0.05 mg --- 61.6% 0.2 mg --- 56.5% how the 0.05 can inhibits more scalp DHT then the 0.2??????? thank you !!

Between these guys, Derek from more plates more dates and Kevin Mann, I decided to start finasteride. 3x a week. Started taking half, so 0.5, each time to see if there was any sides from the drug and so far OK. Been doing that for 4 weeks. Going to up to 1mg 3x a week next week. Particularly Derek from mpmd was good because he approached it from a hormonal pov and I found it made my understanding of hormonal function more clear and how it could potentially be fixed manually even if there was that low chance of having "pfs". The fear of pfs was the only thing holding me back. All 3 are fantastic and I keep up with them regularly. Thanks. And good luck.

@Blitz War hi, mate. Yeah so was I. I think, at the end of the day, you've just got to go for it and see how it takes you. I can happily report I've had no side effects other than a slight decrease in semen load. My libido is fine and everything is going good. I'm 4 months in or so of 1mg 3 times a week with derma rolling once a week. Haven't seen any out of this world gains, but my thinning was very mild and I caught it early so, only time will tell if I grow back my crown to the same density as the rest. It certainly hasn't got any worse, that's for sure. Good luck man.

I’ve read some papers that looked at the use of Botox to relax the scalp muscles. An interesting notion was made that up regulated DHT was caused by scalp tension leading to chronic inflammation which in turn increased DHT. By using Botox to relax the muscles the tension is relaxed which in turn reduces chronic inflammation in the scalp.

Executive Summary =>Try alternative stimulating therapies (Minox., PRP, LLLT, dermarolling), but know that these will not address underlying cause (DHT) - Finasteride (or dutasteride) are 5AR inhibitors which prevent conversion of Testosterone to DHT, and DHT miniaturises hair follicles and leads to predictable MPHL. - Finasteride has well-documented side effects, so some people prefer alternatives, such as stimulating therapy: Minoxidil, PRP, LLLT, dermarolling, but are not as effective as blocker therapy (Finasteride), which targets the underlying cause (DHT).

Hi Dokter, I am busy with a hair loss regiment which includes finasteride (10 months) , minoxidil (8 months), dermaroller (6 months) , and I have to say from where I started it has made quite a difference, I actually shaved my head to help with the treatment, but I can definitely feel alot more hairs , especially on my front part of my head, and they are thickening every month, however they don't seem yet to pigment, they still seem like some kind of vellus hair , but alot thicker, so my question is that , is it probable that these hairs will be replaced by terminal hairs soon and become pigmented, like I said I can feel a massive difference in thickness and quantity of hairs but they are not yet that visible, hope to hear from you soon. Kind regards Roelof van Tonder

Once a hair follicle becomes vellus, it is extremely unlikely that it will ever be normal again no matter the medication regiment. After about a year, you hit a plateau and the only further progression to make is from a hair transplant.

I have a question about finasteride effectiveness, for me finasteride works amazing for the first 6 monts , I go trough a shed right away and 3 month’s later hair regrows like crazy, perfect but the after 3 months with good hair all the new hair starts falling, if I keep using finasteride it doesn’t work, I just remain the same, however if I go off it for a month or 2, then. Restart finasteride I get the same thing regrow and good hair but only for 3 months again, ...... the question ... does the effectiveness of finasteride stop working after the body overpowers the dht blocker producing more of the enzyme to keep its balance ? Can I try some thing different since I do experience great results in the beginning of the process..... have you had any patients with this issue ? ...

@@RAHULTMNT100 Yes, but your completey missing my point, if the hairs in the horseshoe are genetically susceptable, then why is it the ones at the back go 'after' the ones at the front or visa versa, surely if all the hairs had the same weakness they would all start to go at the same time, we don't see that at all, we see receding hairlines over many years first, or balding at the crown first, but very rarely do we see both at the same time, its likely the frontal hairlines which ar the first to go in about 90% of cases have an even greater weakness to DHT than the ones at the back, or just the slight increase in DHT over time and age is enough to swing the balance that leads to hairloss, that would probbaly explain why even with lose dose finasteride, most people retain their hair, as it would appear you only need a small decrease in DHT to have an effect

I've read that when your hair is miniaturized, each time your hair completes a cycle the next cycle will be shorter. This means that each repetitive cycle your hair will not grow as long or thick as the previous cycle. When we undergo stimulation therapy, the process of miniaturization still continues, right? I wondered one day when we stopped stimulating therapy, what if the miniaturization process have gone so badly, that after we stopped taking Minoxidil, our baldness become even worse than before. Yes, there is no cure for hair loss. The medications and drugs simply increase hair growth and stop DHT blockers until the efficacy of the drugs go away (usually within 5-10 years). After those years I guess people kind of have different responsibilities and simply just stop using it.

Is it possible that post-finasteride syndrome is confused with the long time the drug remains on the skin? It is said that a simple dose of 1mg can remain on the skin for at least 30 days, so daily intake would lead to an over-accumulation in the body. In addition, it takes 3-6 months for the body to rid itself of the drug.

Hey Doc, I was considering using finasteride topically instead of orallly because I saw a study that showed doing so would lead to higher scalp DHT reduction and lower systemic reduction. I watched your video on it, but don't think you mention a recommended dosage rate. Would you still recommend 3 days a week as the dosage for topical finasteride? Since the half life for fin in tissue is 30 days it would make sense, right? If it has similar effectiveness I would feel more comfortable taking finasteride topically. Oh, also, thanks for all the great info! I've been loving your channel since I first noticed I was balding.

If you have passed puberty, It doesn’t cause genital shrinkage physically however it can cause lower libido and affect your erection strength. This means your penis is not literally shrinking or when it is flaccid, however when it becomes erect it may seem weaker and shorter. This isn’t genital shrinkage, this is erectile dysfunction. This is a side effect, so not everyone will get it, take at your own risk

@nikolastojanovic7440
@nikolastojanovic7440 Жыл бұрын
It doesn’t matter. As long as you are taking 2-3mg total a week, you will be good. 7mg a week is not necessary for the majority of people. There is no need to drop your dht serum levels so much every day. Also, the half life of the drug in the scalp is about 30days. So you would think maybe I just gotta take it once a month then? Wrong. Reason is because as you block that enzyme, your body compensates by trying to produce more of the enzyme. So taking it a couple times a week helps to prevent as much of that enzyme from working. The difference between .25 and 1mg is very small. So dropping the dose won’t change the side effects too much. However, most people don’t have problems so if you do have a problem, even the slightest difference in 0.5 to 1 or 0.25 to 1 should improve side effects. Only aggressive balding people or people who tend to produce a lot of that enzyme(Remeber everyone is different) need to take it more frequently or even up the dosage a bit.

@@tagada7 Wow thank you so much doctor! This information really helped bring some insight. When I was using minoxidil, I used it for about a year. The thing is, when I stopped, a couple months later I noticed a lot of shedding and I guess the hair came back a lot thinner (what it probably would've been without the treatment). I'm guessing this proved that minoxidil helped slow the progression of my hair loss quite a bit. Knowing that, with the use of finasteride alongside it, do you think minoxidil has a better chance at providing better results than it did the last time? Also, I'm sure you heard of the condition DUPA. I've asked questions in other forums but I wasn't able to get a hold of any professional. I was hoping maybe you can provide some insight. I have noticed that my side hairs are thinned out along with diffused thinning all over the top (mostly in the crown where its the most noticible). My back however seems to be much thicker than my sides but i feel like it also lost a tiny bit of density over the years. Is it normal for it to thin a little bit over the years? Is it possible to have a diffuse patterned hair loss with thinning on the sides but the back is much better? Can it be that I have something similar to female pattern hair loss? I know you need a hand microscope to tell for sure, but if the thinning is visible would that be enough? Or would you have to look extremely close into it. My mom has thinning all around her scalp as well so can It be that I got it from my mom? ( she also went through a lot of stress from an event that happened in 2007). But i feel as though if the hairless was because of that stress, it would've recovered by now. If you can kindly get back to me, this would be such a great help to me as it is very difficult these days to get a hold of any professional. Thank you so much

@@tagada7 Thank you again Dr! All of this information really helps. I'm currently on those two medications right now (minoxidil and finasteride) so will have my fingers crossed for results! Your information really helped me out, thank you again! To add on to what you said, can minoxidil thicken existing hairs without them having them fall out? I guess by extending the anogen phase for those follicles that are currentljy still in that phase? Since I have taken finasteride for 6 months already, I feel like most the hairs have strengthened a bit prior to adding minoxidil. With that being said, I have notices some shedding, but I am not sure if its just because im just using my comb after applying minoxidil. Can this be that Im using my comb too agressively or the hairs that came out were already weak and the comb did the last tug at them? In terms of DUPA, does minoxidil and finasteride have a lower chance at working because of that condition vs any other alopecia? Thank you so much again doctor!

I started use Revita's shampoo, conditioner and tablets, this 3 things together, even though they are not effective like finasteride, they can still be a good solid base for fighting your hair loss! My advice is, don't go directly for the extreme solutions like starting medication or go in a premature hair transplant, try every steps first! Don't be hasty! And is never too late to start something in case you wanna start.

I remember that as well. I also remember they said that stopping finasteride for 3 weeks is more than enough for conceiving safely. They said that you need like 20 buckets of sperm to get a high enough concentration of finasteride to cause potential birth defects. So it sounds to me that you can use finasteride and conceive the same day without problems
