or Jescar EVO frets. The hardness is between stainless and nickel-silver (std frets). They're slightly gold, barely noticeable on a guitar.

@@davidrees1840ibanez has started using them on some of their black label series guitars. Like on my Xiphos. I was wondering why they had a gold-ish tint. Those are right up there with stainless steel. Their jumbo sizes are more of a narrow, slightly lower size of stainless jumbo that I prefer.

You should be able to fix the intonation yourself and thats not an issue really its normal to have to do maintenance on any guitar you buy regardless of price. I loved my tele it was my first guitar and I wore the frets out on it twice. And played it so much the paint start to chip and it looked relic. Played at my high school retreat went to go eat dinner when I returned it was stolen. I still curse that person to this day. It was also a lefty guitar so I have no idea why someone would take it. Anyways definitely recommend stainless steel frets with the comfortable neck and fat twang it just compliments the overall guitar especially if your playing that much it might be worth the extra $$$ plus the smooth bending is so nice.

So I swapped them for Twisted Tele’s & booyucka! Brand new and one of my favs. I really like the S-1 that thickens up the tone ALOT! It essentially makes the pups into a humbucker. & that’s the best Fender neck I’ve ever played on.

A good Telecaster is buttery. It's good for jazz, blues, and rock and roll. It's well-balanced. It doesn't hang on your shoulders like a Les Paul. It's not slippery like a strat- the body has edges. It's Not Fragile like an SG. You can take out a drum set with it and it stays in tune.

Changing frets after 3 years of play is beyond crazy. What in the world kind of strings are you using and are you storing your guitar under a pile of vibrating bricks when it isn't in use? Holy moly. I have guitars I've played every day for well over a decade and haven't had to replace the frets once. I have a light touch, but something isn't right here 😂

None of my "cheap" Squier Classic Vibe had fret issues. Because the necks have been rolled on that series since 2008, as well as the fret barbs are cut on each side and the holes are filled with wood dust and glue. Take note Fender. No need to spend 2300 bucks for that.

The Ultra is actually the furthest thing from a Tele. It does not have the tone youd think a traditional Tele would have. No spank at all with the noiseless, no-balls, pickups. He clearly got this as a guitar and not as a Tele. Same for the Strat Ultra, nothing like a Strat. At that price range, save another $700 and get a Suhr T style or Crook (which Brad Paisley uses).

Same here. Black fusion tele hh with wilkison 2 point floating trem. Locking tuners, coil split, belly cut, heel cut, and double horn cut on bottom, quarter sawn single peice maple neck with great figuring, stainless steel frets, graphtech nut and actual macasar ebony fretboard, oh and a flawless wood binding going around the black in front and red back and sides body thats made of Nyotah, and is high glossed, neck is super smooth satin. For 306 bucks after shipping and all. No buzz, low action, and no sharp frets. Perfect finish and plays and sounds like a dream. A guitar that fender would charge 8-12 hundred for all day long.

Stainless Steel jumbo frets last forever. Stainless steel "work hardens" so the frets get harder with use.
@MattMcConaha
@MattMcConaha 10 ай бұрын
Nickel silver also work hardens. In order to work harden something, you need to plastically deform it. If you plastically deform a fret after it's installed on a guitar, then it's already ruined. It has nothing to do with why stainless steel frets last longer, all that matters is that stainless steel is harder than nickel silver.
