I remember when a couple years after I got saved, a Pastor took me under his wing and would take me everywhere he went. Unknowing he was intentionally training me. By the end of just one day I was exhausted. Thank you Pastor Matt for your service. Most people only thank a military officer but, my personal conviction is that the call to Pastoral ministry is the highest calling in the land. May the Lord richly bless you and yours, Brian

My father always says a pastor visits when you’re in the hospital or when someone dies. I don’t think he’s forgiven a pastor for not visiting when Mom had her miscarriage because he still talks about it. A church is probably too big if they can’t visit someone in the hospital.

I didn't know I needed to know this. But I guess I do. 🤣 On a serious note though, I'm currently, studying a chapter every night, then take notes. Any help in studying would be helpful.

My pastor is a great preacher however he really doesn't do much, at least from my view, pastoral care. I was told "this just isn't his forte or 'in his wheelhouse.'" He is great communicator and great for outreach to community but not so much for personal pastoral care. Should pastors be both good preachers, good at outreach. AND pastoral care??

In my personal opinion yes. Caring for the flock is a pastoral responsibility

Preaching on Sundays and have Bible lessons on Tuesdays or Wednesdays that’s what they do

Most pastors use the church building as a real estate investment their fans (congregation) pay for in full...in return they stand in a spotlight and try to sound intelligent while their adoring fans hang on their every word. None of this is biblical of course but most people don't read the bible anyways so how would they know.

Ive always wondered if being a pastor was an actual “job” with an application and salary anf stuff like that, or if it was just a job where you just decide to do it and get money from random people or the government.

What pastor' do?? 1. Collect generous gifts from members to accumulate more money and gain assets; 2. Make friends with rich and influential members to be able to play golf and to sponsor his membership - so that every free time he can play; 3. Copy & paste the sermons he gets from his favorite websites; 4. Works very hard in plagiarizing sermons and works of other teachers or preachers!

I’m a Pastor myself. I can tell you 100% that Pastor Matt, myself and many other pastors who fear the Lord and live out the call to ministry, do so sacrificially. We do it for the glory of God, nothing else. There are definitely people in ministry who have wrong motives and take advantage of people; and this is very sad and a gross misrepresentation of Christ and His church. However, those of us who are called to preach the Word…we love the Gospel. We love the church. We love God’s people, and we will be held accountable by God for how we conducted ourselves as ministers.
