My mum told me that the contractions are the worst bit painwise, and pushing the baby out is the easiest. She also told me that the closest thing she can think of to explain what a contraction feels like, is when you try to have a bowel movement whilst having period pains/cramps, but you're kinda constipated & the cramp just gets worse as you're pushing... Gross, but she said that's how it feels xD I appreciate the realistic stories & explanations of childbirth, my mum has a good tolerance for pain (as do I, I just work myself up mentally about pain but then I'm usually like 'Oh that wasn't as bad as I thought' when it happens), so she says it's not as bad as people say, but my cousin tells me a very dramatic story on how childbirth is the most excruciating pain there is and how awful it is :') Just scares me.

That's actually really really helpful. I have DEBILITATING cramps so when I heard it'll be like menstrual cramps it made me feel better since I know I've felt that type of pain before. I'm the same when it comes to pain I always panic beforehand but afterwards I'm like "oh..." It's the fear of the unknown I think. 😂 I've heard women say it's the worst pain ever and I've also heard women say it isn't that bad so I guess I'll find out in October! I pride myself on my pain tolerance though and being able to zone in when it comes to intense pain so I'm hoping I can do that during labor.

@@keshiamcentire9843 I had an ectopic, which, when treated, acts like a miscarriage, and it was horrible, but not nearly as bad as the actual ectopic pain. I think it was worse because instead of being motivated and accepting the pain, I was losing my baby so the pain was harder to handle. I honestly think labor will be easier.

It's nothing to be afraid of at all... Seriously, women do this multiple times. I still want more babies lol. It's just a lot of hard, tiring work more than pain.. I just had my first baby 2 months ago. Yes it will become extremely painful, but you can always get an epidural when it gets too unbearable... The pain builds up, it doesn't just hit you like a brick wall like the movies show.. each contraction will get worse and worse so with each one you can ask yourself can I keep going without an epidural... it starts off feeling just like period cramps, but it gets stronger with each contraction.. i downloaded this contraction counter app and it told me to go to the hospital because I was in active labor... when I was in active labor, it hurt but not bad enough because my husband forgot his wallet at the house and I told him it's ok go get it lol so we turned the car around. By the time we got to the hospital 15 minutes later I was like "okay ughhhhhh it's stronger, please hurry and get the wheelchair", cuz you can't walk normally when a contraction comes... I still didn't feel the real bad ones until i was actually finally in the delivery room at about 4-5 centimeters, which is when you can get the epidural.... So I really only had to deal with the really bad ones for like 15 or 20 minutes... It hurt so bad I grabbed my husband AND the nurse and she was like that's alright hold my shoulders lol. I'm gonna tell you the truth how I feel, the contractions hurt so bad I couldn't think. I was grabbing everything. I grabbed the nurse, the bed rail, my husband, I was all over the place. But here's the crazy thing, even with all this pain, it still wasn't worse than being stabbed a million times or being hit with a hammer over and over like some people say because it's nothing that feels wrong or crazy. It sounds weird, but contractions feel normal and natural like it's suppose to happen. It feels as natural as period cramps. It's nothing you're not familiar with. It's just really, really strong. During my labor I was thinking to myself ok I could do this again as long as I get an epidural again lol... I don't think I'm gonna do it naturally, but I'm sure I could if I really decided to and put my mind to it. My labor was going so fast, but my epidural seemed to have slowed things down because my contractions slowed down. But the epidural took ALL the pain away, I was laughing and having conversations with my husband. Even during pushing, whenever the nurse told me to wait before pushing again, me and my husband would talk. So it's really not that bad. It's only bad if you have a complication and things aren't going smoothly like if they tell you you'll need a c section or something, but even then I've seen my sisters be on cloud 9 even with a C-section cuz they had the epidural and didn't feel a thing. Any woman who tells you it's automatically a terrible nightmare is just lying and trying to look tough as some type of womanhood right of passage crap.. childbirth and contractions feel normal.. it doesn't feel like it's going to kill you or anything.

Samantha Austin so glad it was so helpful!! Yes I am still planning on doing a pushing video but not sure if I’ll get it done before you have your baby. Simply put, your going to crunch at the top of your belly and use your upper abs to crunch baby down and out. Rather than pushing “low” like a bowel movement. Then you’ll really engage all of your abdominal muscles. You got this mama 🙏💪

pregnant with my third daughter, due on July 16th. A couple of days ago I know I had real contractions because they were super painful and stopped me in my tracks and they were starting to have a pattern. Any tips for labor that starts and stops? Ive been pretty active with this pregnancy. I was checked at my last appointment and I was still only about 1 centimetre dilated and my cervix was still high.
@thehaleybarry
@thehaleybarry 4 жыл бұрын
Pretty normal to not be dilated that early before your due date since you aren't even considered "late" until 42 weeks. A lot of time (not always) labor that starts and stops is due to baby not being in optimal birthing position. I would check out my video on my channel on using a birthing ball, as well as pregnancy stretches and then check out the website, Spinning Babies. They have 4 exercises called the fantastic four that are an amazing way to help baby get into optimal position. I also highly recommend seeing a Webster certified, prenatal chiropractor too! :) Hope that helps, congrats!!!

You don't aways have to have a natural birth, unless it's really what you want, but you are designed for it, your body will change during pregnancy to make you more capable. I'm a rather fragile and small woman, but I'm 19 so I'm young and that may help? I'm 10 weeks pregnant and scared too but I just have to believe in myself, trust my body, it will likely be ok, and I'm sure you will too, it's ok to be scared, many are, but during pregnancy the body goes through great changes to help, and the pain will be over, in the end it is worth it for the child you will have

@@Sona77. 27 is still decently young for being pregnant, and maybe if you're that worried, have a check up with the doctor to see how your body is for having a child. Pregnancy won't be the easiest, or birth that's completely normal, will have some struggle, but it will all be over and you will have a baby, I'm sure you will do great :)

I still didn’t catch what it feels like. What kind of intense pains??
@MommyBee1589
@MommyBee1589 3 жыл бұрын
People say they’re like period cramps but I feel they are a sensation all on their own. It’s hard to describe bc it’s indescribable. As a mom of four I can say that my contractions have always been a painful burst or crescendo in your abdomen where your stomach tightens and you feel a deep pain which is why they say it’s like period cramps. It lasts about a minute then subsides. I truly believe our bodies can’t create a pain we can’t handle. It’s our own bodies. It’s just like a race if you prepare yourself well for it you won’t escape the pain but you’ll manage it better. If you hop off the couch and try to run a marathon it’s gonna hurt badly. You can prepare yourself by letting go of the fear of labor and really researching coping strategies, pain management during labor, types of birth options like hypno birthing water birth etc. we join ALL mammals on the planet in our ability to give birth- it’s not something animals really think about they just do it because they have to. I think when we shift from fear to focus it helps a lot and I can say even birthing twins vaginally that our bodies are made for this very purpose. So it doesn’t matter what the pain feels like, prepare for the race.! You can do this!

Laura Zacaula so sorry to hear this. Gestation is an average of 40 weeks long and is normally calculated based on your cycle which Varys woman to woman by two weeks on both sides of the 40 week mark. It’s normal for any woman to deliver between 38-42 weeks gestation without a rise in possible complications if pregnancy is being monitored. Dilation is also no sign of labor. Women have been at 7cm for weeks before labor began. True labor is contractions that are consistent and timely causing dilation and effacement. Remember you hired your doctor and you can absolutely refuse induction if you or the baby’s life aren’t in danger. I would not recommend induction (unless medically necessary) until at least 41w 6d. I hope that helps. You got this 💪🙏💗
