Pile 2- You described my on and off again relationship to a T. He loves his “absolute freedom” but he doesn’t ever want me to move on and only comes back when he’s at risk of losing me for good. He will then be a good partner for maybe a month and then he’s selfish again. I found myself listening to this and thinking “gosh why would anyone even want to be with someone like this?” because it felt like looking at my life outside. And you were absolutely right. This is not the relationship I deserve, and we’ve been doing this game too long where he comes back whenever he feels like it and I feed his ego until he’s done.
