What Do You Know About Karhu?

Have you ever heard of the sneaker brand Karhu? I didn't until recently, but their very rich and interesting history along with glowing reviews made these a must buy! Today we will be taking a look at the Karhu Fusion 2.0. Let me know what you all think!

I missed this before. Karhu introduced air cushioning in 1977 with the ChampionAir and Mestari models. They beat Nike to the tech as you assumed. It was patented and they still produce those models, so Nike could be licensing it unless the exposed air unit was a legal way to “steal” the idea without paying Karhu. The Dasslers were using stripes in the ‘20s (two). They were on the logo as lateral and medial support as well. Adi wanted to switch to three stripes but discovered Karhu had it on a track model. I have no idea why Karhu did, but the utilized multiple lateral and medial support stripes back in the day. It was a perfect scenario for Dassler to swoop in and buy the one he also wanted to use. So he bought it as a technical idea (for Karhu) that he intended as a dual purpose logo. Brilliant. The Missus is European. Ecco, Karhu and Tretorn are just as ubiquitous as Nike. adidas is still more common ‘cos proper football as you know. Have you tried the Helly Hansen stuff? They occasionally do footwear… mostly as collabs though. HH is one of the oldest outdoor brands that invented a lot of clothing as insulation tech. Novesta is another historically significant brand. I live in Newark and frequently go to NYC, that's where I saw people wearing this shoe brand a couple years ago. I said to myself, what are those, but knowing NYC are the trend setters for the world, nothing surprises me what people wear. They kinda dope.

Saucony, Asics and Karhu are my go to shoes for and comfort. These are Hypebeast killers.

Mike, I am a much older sneaker head. I agree with you when you say to venture out. Everyone has Jordan’s. I came across these Fusion 2.0’s two years ago and loved them right away. The feeling intensified when I put them on. Extremely comfortable from jump. I own 6 different color ways and always receive positive comments when I wear them. People just don’t know about them. Same here... every time I wear any of my karhus I always get compliments!! If you ever see more then 2 people wearing them in the DMV its because of me 🤣🤣

I have a pair of the Synchron Ortix Karhu's, just got them today but they are super comfy and much more sleek than the model you are showing. 2 people have already asked me "what kind of shoes are those?"

Definitely true to size I got 6 pairs of Karhus... if you like a true fit go with your size, if you like a little room half size up

When I read the history, it mentioned that they patented the Air Cushion, and maybe they are getting a cut from Nike and other companies using that technology.

Hey, I'm looking to get the Fusion 2.0s but I could only find it 0.5 down from my usual size. You said, you got them 0.5 down your usual, how's the length if you go that way? I got the Foot Patrol collab, but I think that one has a really wide toe box. I would just like to get your insights on it. Thank you. +1 sub

Thanks for checking out the review and subscribing! Personally I didn’t like the feel of going .5 down from my normal size. It is pretty short length wise and my toes are at the end of the toe box. Next pair I get I’ll for sure got true to size. Btw that Foot Patrol pair looks awesome...great pick up!!

@@MikeGuillory thanks for replying. That's what I was worried about, too, the length of the shoe. I just considered 0.5 down because the toe box on my true size is quite big and even with wearing thick socks, i still got a lot of room widthwise. More power to your channel!
