When you say God asked you this, did you actually hear a voice or was it just you sensing it?

Hi, Alan! To me, it was not an audible voice (like a Morgan Freeman coming over the loudspeaker for all to hear), but rather an assurance of God speaking because of the voice I am coming to know through relationship.
