There once was a tiny tortoise in a pet shop. He lived among other tortoises and animals. The tiny tortoise was sad because he did not have any family to love him. He heard the other tortoises talking about “having a home” and a “mommy,” but the sad little tortoise didn’t know what a “home” or “mommy” was. Little did the tiny tortoise know that a young, cute, blonde girl lived not far away. Her name was Caitlin. Every night when Caitlin slept she dreamed of having a tortoise to love. Little Caitlin thought tortoises were the coolest creatures… EVER!!!! One day, a woman and a man walked into the pet shop to find a tortoise for their little girl. The woman and man were little Caitlin’s mommy and daddy!!! Caitlin’s parent looked at the tortoises and saw one cute tiny tortoise who looked full of love. The little tortoise looked at the man and woman, blinked his little eyes at them, and thought “oh, they look very nice.” That tortoise was the sad tiny tortoise! Caitlin’s parents said “this is the perfect baby tortoise for our little girl.” The woman and man brought the tiny tortoise home and gave him to Caitlin. Caitlin was ecstatic! She almost cried with happiness! The little tortoise looked at Caitlin and thought “Wow! She looks nice!” The little tortoise was so small he could fit in the palm of Caitlin’s hand. The tortoise would look at Caitlin and think “She is huge compared to me.” Oh, how things would change! Caitlin, eventually, named the tiny tortoise “TipToe,” because he walked on the tips of his toesies. Little Caitlin took the bestest care possible of TipToe as any good mom would. She smothered TipToe with love and told TipToe she was his “mom.” TipToe thought “Now I know what a ‘home’ and a ‘mom’ is!” TipToe and mom Caitlin were incredibly happy together! Gradually, Caitlin and TipToe continued to grow….not just in their love for each other, but in size. Eventually, Caitlin became a woman and stopped growing bigger. However, TipToe continued to grow, and grow, and GROW! Tiny TipToe was no longer tiny. He was huge…much bigger than his mom! Caitlin continued to care, and love, for her baby boy TipToe. They had many adventures together: going to the beach and eating pizza; taking long walks, and; meeting children and dogs. Caitlin was such a good mommy that even when TipToe was a “bad boy,” she calmly corrected his behavior and continued to shower him with love. When TipToe would walk in the street, or try to eat the neighbor’s flowers, Caitlin would correct him. Also, when TipToe’s mom would dress him in cute, and sometimes wild, hats and costumes, TipToe would be patient and understand that mom was a bit crazy….like all moms…about her baby. Every night, before TipToe goes to sleep, he counts his blessings. TipToe thinks, “Thank you for the wonderful food l I eat each day, for strawberries, for my beautiful home, for my loving grandma and grandpa, and most of all, for my mommy…she is the BESTEST MOMMY EVER!.” Then TipToe lays his head down and dreams about the coming morning when his mom will give him flowers to eat and love to fill his heart. Dreams do come true!

He looks down at the green hat. "Should I or shouldn't I? Naaaaa..... I'll wait and see what Moms got for flowers."

What a great change of pace with Tiptoe’s early morning sounds of life! Lovely to get a ground level close up of T’s world; breathing, walking, eating grass, flowers and a strawberry, hydrating in a warm pond. Those sounds were impressive. The breathing, a sigh, and all the other sounds associated with mobility, and his backyard garden environment. Loved this peek of Tiptoe’s morning rituals. The creator of Animal Love Stories hijacked Tiptoe for a video of him 'saving' a baby sulcata tortoise. Then shows the baby 'grown up' & it's Tiptoe. Walking down the street, your hand feeding him flowers, in his blue house, in his pool. Just thought you'd like to know.
