I've just experienced "corked" wine taste... Honestly I'll never forget it. For me it was more like a wet dog or dirty socks ...something like this. But it blew my mind ,that 2 of my family members said there is nothing wrong with it,while other 2 could not drink it.

Got a corked bottle of port a couple of days ago, which had never happened to me before. Wanted to look up some info on it and this video was highly informative, kudos!

The store replaced it with no questions asked :) Hard to describe the taste, honestly. Kinda like mold and chlorinated water.

Matthew, your videos are aweome, love watching them. I like to order wines in boxes 6 bottles to save shipment costs, and I’m noticing that it’s often 1 bottle out of 6 smells/tastes different. Not like a cardboard, but definitely less fruity and less flavors… maybe a heat exposure? Or is it also a cork problem? What is your opinion on it?

Thank you much, it could be any of those and remember that wine is a living thing, there is bottle variation as wine changes in the bottle and often at different rates

What if one of the bottles i have in my winefridge is corkes, can it also affect the other bottles that are close next to it? Sometimes the top of the bottles are very close to each other to make it fit in the winefridge..
