They are both different binds I find yo tricks gives a tighter bind with less of a chance of the string being caught up ruining the next throw

u don't need to cross. just be sure to pinch the string and make the yoyo slide the string. backspin will take care of the rest

Trust the one that's actually a high quality tutorial video and not a slapdash attempt at appeasing to an audience who can't pay attention for long enough to digest a decent explanation. I am 100% confident that Brandon knows what he's doing, and that he can make a decent tutorial if he wants, but this video is absolute trash with a lot of neglected information and even some stuff that I'd classify as misinformation or at least misleading.

I am very late to the party. Vu's way is easier but more likely to cause problems. Yo tricks might take a bit longer to figure out but its much cleaner.

Its easier to teach beginners to cross the string than to describe the whole "pinch and feed" motion

@@ethanevans8909 that's because you don't 'pinch and feed' the string anywhere. To bind a yoyo you pull the string into the opposite direction its spinning in whatever means you can achieve that and then change the elevations of your hands. It's literally that simple to teach.

True, although from my experience, beginners don't feed enough slack into the yoyo when they change the elevation of their hands. The bearing usually slips past the string because they're not moving their hands at the proper speed. Crossing the strings already creates a lot of friction at the bearing, so the yoyo is much more likely to return to your hand. I think this method is a lot less effort to learn, and the succession rate is higher from my experience. Once they understand this concept, they're much more likely to learn the standard method of binding.

@@markasread No, that's objectively false: teaching it right it the proper and best way. Literally do the first half of what Brandon teaches, but instead of all that stupid nonsense about pulling the string back, you literally just drop your string hand. It's that simple, and teaching simply is the only proper way of teaching.
