I can relate to this. I was once in love with my male bestfriend and he told me he had a girlfriend after I had already fallen for him, it was the hardest thing. 8 months later, this year he was going through relationship stress because his relationship had got toxic and I lost it. Started telling him what he deserves and all that, in the midst I ended up telling him that I love him. God that killed me. He said he loves me but as a friend. We're still friends right now but I don't invest my emotions anymore, I met my soulmate and I finally understood why I was rejected. I've learnt to just let God lead. Sometimes what you want isn't what you need.

I fell in love with my best friend, at first i ignored it, because i felt like she could do better. I didnt tell her anything because i was afraid that she would find someone better or she didnt feel the same or if she does something will happen and she would leave me or we would move away and i never see her again, or that one day she may just lose interest in me. Then one day she confessed to me, I was happier than i have ever been nothing came even close. Every day was great no matter how shit of a day i had, if it was work, or family, friends, or just woke up on the wrong side of the bed, just seeing her made my day. It was like a dream, a dream that was too good to be true. I always kept those fears while we dated, i ignored them thinking that it cant happen we were happy, we were going to grow old and have children. I was planning on proposing to her. Then one day she asked if we could talk and my heart stopped for a minute, but no that cant happen its just my mind fucking with me, the talk was just about the future, it has to be. I went home that day and i dont remember anything, for 2 years or so everything is just blank, no memories, no feelings, no thoughts. Just empty, i know i worked, i know im alive, i know i went out with friends, but what i did at work or home, what i did in that time span or what i did with friends. It felt like everything collapsed, but i guess i knew it was going to happen, the worst part is i still love her. We are friends still, and im ignoring these feelings like i did before, because she is better without me. I try to help her as much as i can and its just like before we dated, and it kills me. But its fine because shes happy and thats all that matters to me. Part of me wants to tell her how i feel, but i know the same thing will happen. I love her still and i hate it, but i cant stop because she is the only person to ever make me happy, and i dont know what to do.

I wish I can take back things and do it right this time . I feared being in a relationship and getting hurt . Before I was only in a long distance relationship for 4 years, having a relationship in person scared me bc Ive never had one everything was new to me so I pushed him away by making excuses and in that process I hurt him bc I made him feel like I was playing with his feelings but in reality I wasn’t .
