I'm very confused, it happened to be in the middle of a field and I was just running around in circles being like who broke a great rune is it one of mine is it one of theirs?

@@The_Very_Tall_Midget I think it’s one of their great runes not sure who’s but when it happens you are able to go into more areas but the npcs quest could be messed up I wish I knew

Nope, not as far as I can tell because I've managed to progress every quest without an issue. Sometimes the NPC's have moved though so the starting point of certain quest steps might vary

The great rune that broke was Miquella. The enchantment was the spell cast on the NPCs to make them love Miquella so much. The scene triggers the NPCs quests to begin. If you didn’t meet them all then some of them are lost.

So this is all it does? Also what do you mean if the NPC wasn't talked to their gone? I constantly hear people saying they still get everything while ignoring the message

It's not a punishment since you're encouraged to interact with all npc's in an area before you advance into the next area, same as basegame. If you advance without proper exploring then you're locked out of certain questlines which is your own fault

This happens naturally as you start exploring Scadu Altus, so I don't think so

so there isnt a charm or something since i found the rune after defeating a boss but havent found any charm

The charm is not physical, it was miquella's incantation which charmed the other npcs

@@theFullMeasure thanks for the map but I found a route there by fighting an easy boss called the dragon knight. And passing through some dragons and jumping down hills suffice it to say I found another route that you could do
