Jesus said, I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life. No man comes to the Father but by me. Only one road leads to the One, True God and that’s through Jesus, ONLY!! The lie that says all roads lead to God will lead many to the road headed for Hell and not Heaven!!!

“Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world. For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.’ Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?’ The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’ Then he will say to those on his left, ‘Depart from me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels. For I was hungry and you gave me nothing to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me nothing to drink, I was a stranger and you did not invite me in, I needed clothes and you did not clothe me, I was sick and in prison and you did not look after me.’ They also will answer, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or needing clothes or sick or in prison, and did not help you?’ He will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did not do for one of the least of these, you did not do for me.’ Then they will go away to eternal punishment, but the righteous to eternal life.” (Matthew 25:34-46) This doesn't sound to me as the way you're talking about is primarily about faith. It's about helping those who need help and having compasion for them. You come to the Father by Jesus because you helped those in need and helping them is helping Jesus not because you believe in Jesus. A Muslim or a Buddhist can do the same. Maybe their teachings aren't true, but if they make them act in a good way, they too can help Jesus by helping those in need. Another example are the Beatitudes: It says "Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted" not "Blessed are those who mourn, for if they believe in me they will be comforted". It says "Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy", not "Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy if they believe in me, otherwise they will be send to hell". It says "Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God", not "Blessed are the peacemakers who believe in me, for they will be called children of God". (Matthew 5:4,7,9) And even this whole thing about hell seems to be a bit more complicated if you really listen to the bible. It never says anything about eternal torture. It says that the fire is eternal, not that people stay in the fire for eternity. Fire is also often associated with cleansing, so it could be about a cleansing of the soul (which also would be tough if people realize what they did to other people, but it would have a goal and a purpose). This would also make way more sense, given that "When he has done this, then the Son himself will be made subject to him who put everything under him, so that God may be all in all" (1 Corinthians 15:28). God will be "all in all", not "all in those that didn't end in hell". Some time ago, I only knew the traditional arguments about heaven and hell and that only faith will protect people from hell and this whole concept of a benevolent god, doing these things felt so contradictory. I even argued that the good that this god was doing wasn't outweighing the evil. It would have been better if the whole of mankind was crucified and than annihilated than if one single human was sent to hell. So I argued in a discussion that until now, nobody was able to convince me that the Christian god wasn't a monster and therefore I couldn't worship him. Days later I stumbled upon a series of lectures explaining the perspective I explained above (sadly in German, so I cannot share it with English speaking people) and finally it all made sense. No contradictions, just a god whose words and deeds aligned with one another.

The "Shack" is a fictional movie about a man who's young daughter was kidnapped and murdered. He becomes very bitter and the story is how God reaches out to him with such love and compassion that it changes his heart and takes away the bitterness and unforgiveness so he can once again love God and his family. It's not a movie about Bible doctrine or scripture...its a fictional movie, and a good one. It shows how God will go as far as need be to rescue one of His children. Praise and glory to God!

There's one big problem with the theology as shown in The Shack, and it's that the story preaches Unitarianism, which cannot be true if you believe the Bible. The Shack preaches Unitarianism, which says that God is one in every way, but that is impossible, otherwise how could Jesus truthfully say "My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?"
@jonyoung9274
@jonyoung9274 Жыл бұрын
This is a ludicrous and grossly uniformed statement. The theology behind the Shack is rooted in the apostolic faith and more Trinitarian than the vast majority of evangelical churches and denominations today, especially those within the US.

Be careful and attentive to words and phrases. Subtilty is found in the definitions of words and phrases. You can say phrases like "Does God's love encompass the entire cosmos?", or phrases like, "Did Jesus atonement embrace the entire cosmos?", and obviously, because good words are used, one can fall into accepting that. But the question should be, "what do you mean by that?". If you mean that "God is accepting amongst everybody and doesnt care for sin, nor will He punish it", then that's completely false. If you mean that "Jesus atonement will eventually result in everybody being saved". Then that's completely false. For one to reject these statements being made can easily receive the backlash with very subtle statements such as "We made Jesus small", or "The Holy Spirit isnt restricted to words on a page". Yet its because of these subtle words like "small" and "restricted", they carry with them obvious and negative meanings that are implanted into the mind or the hearer and cause them to clearly agree with the one speaking them. But what do you mean in those statements? Do you mean "We made Jesus small because He saves only a remnant"? Because the bible clearly teaches that but lets not ignore the fact on why its only a remnant? and it has nothing to do with Jesus. Or what about when you say, "The Holy Spirit is 'restricted' to words on page", are you saying that The Holy Spirit should be able to go outside of the written word? Because if that's the case, then that's literally how you end up with what we can properly phrase as, "unbiblical doctrine". So no, The Holy Spirit does not propagate, or institute anything that goes outside of scripture. If we want to give that a negative connotation and call it "restricted to words on a page", then have at it. Considering I would term that as the subtilty of the serpent.

In my humble opinion, I've thought it to be a derogatory term for the believers that they've accepted. It wasn't a term used by the early believers and they weren't the ones who came up with the term. Do you believe that the heathens who came up with it had good intentions for doing so? Some people always desire to be labeled by a title or name, like Baptist, southern Baptist, methodist, catholic, you get the point.

The Holy Spirit does not inspire any further scripture- Every thing we need to know is contained in the 66 books of the Bible- there is a warning to those who say that they are writing scripture or giving further word from God- "I warn everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this scroll: If anyone adds anything to them, God will add to that person the plagues described in this scroll. And if anyone takes words away from this scroll of prophecy, God will take away from that person any share in the tree of life and in the Holy City, which are described in this scroll." He says he believes all will be ultimately reconciled with God. There is no reconciliation without repentance. The Bible clearly states this over and over. He posits that Jesus saved everyone regardless of who they are and what they have done. True, but only if you repent of your sins and then walk the "narrow path" of righteousness will you enter the kingdom of heaven. Jesus clearly stated that.

Yes...God loves you SO very much....He created HELL just in case you don't love Him BACK! You statement confirms that Christianity teaches it is NOTHING we can do for our salvation when, in reality, it is COMPLETELY up to US! If we don't respond, believe, trust, accept, repent, love back, receive (ALL of which are VERBS, by the way which are WORKS! ...lest men should boast!) then there is no salvation. The Christian "Savior" is a life preserver floating next to the drowning man. If that man does not reach for the life preserver, the life preserver does NOT become the savior. If he DOES reach out and grab ahold, the life preserver THEN becomes the Savior. Sorry. 1st Timothy 4:10 For this cause we strive and suffer to preach the gospel that Jesus IS (not wants to be, is there to be, can be) the Savior of ALL (not some, not a few, not those who "accept") but ALL men, especially those who believe!!

Jesus gave different illustrations of "repentance". Most Christians don't have a problem with the picture of repentance shown in the story of the prodigal son who found his "own way" back home but not much is said about that sheep who was found and carried back home. That sheep didn't turn himself around: the Shepherd did.
@kandimegahan7844
@kandimegahan7844 7 жыл бұрын
padah2k people also don't have a problem with it because they presume that what The prodigal son did was repentance. yes, remembering the basic goodness of the father (the word, Holy Spirit influence) gave him the idea that he could choose his own salvation, still work his own way, and stay at do. real mind-changing was when it was overwhelmingly made known that he could not be anything but the Father's son.

I wonder why I didn't get a say in Adams decision. Where was all of humanity when that happened, we were bound up in Adam. Our human progenitor made a decision we would all have to live with. Our potential for sin came directly from Adam. The bible says we were born in sin, but so much of Christian theology almost suggests that with good living we could have lived pretty good. I say this was our nature and we couldn't have done anything else. My question is where we're you when Jesus died on the cross. Where was your decision at that point. Like Adam, Jesus makes a unilateral decision for all of mankind that is more powerful than Adam. Yet we in the the church have Adams decision as far more powerful than the Decision of the Divine triune God. Not a very big God that's for sure, yet the scripture says Christ was crucified before the foundation of the world. The plan was never Adam it was always Jesus and will always be Jesus. Some people's God makes him a bad inventor that gets mad at what he produced and then tortures it for all eternity. I acknowledge that we need to decide from our side , that we do have right of refusal and that has hell to pay. In my theology we are all back at the Garden and Jesus is the tree of life , choose life.

Jesus's atonement WAS for everyone, but not everyone will believe in Him, repent of their sins, and seek God's forgiveness. Not everyone will avail themselves of God's outstretched hand. This is predicted in Scripture: not everyone WILL BE saved. And this is of their own free will. This man is, right from the start, playing word games. If we read the Bible, we can see where he tries to twist a person's opinion. Right from the start, he sets up a false paradigm. You can believe the truth that Jesus' atonement IS for all - without believing the lie that this must mean that everyone will be saved. Because it is already written that many will not be. And why is that? It isn't because God has not desired that all will be saved; God does desire that. It is because we have free will and are given a CHOICE between Good and Evil. And some will simply choose to continue to reject God.

For me this is the moment that God is saying stop putting me in a room with only four corners, stop judging others and believe that you deserve salvation more than them. Jesus came to save the world not does that think they do right, not does that think the wrong but to save all, and the reason why the world does not want Jesus is because some Christians after receiving salvation, the forgot that they to once were sinners that needed so be safe and needed some one to look at them and not the mistake. We all needed Jesus blood to reconcile us the Father. So before you say you are a Christian or you love God make sure you are reconciling peoples to the father.

You say; around 4:24, “Any theology of separation, is false”? Then why does the Bible say; “But your iniquities have 'separated' between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear.” Isaiah 59:2. This separation can only be resolved through faith, believing. As John warned; “ He that believes on the Son has everlasting life: and he that believes not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abides on him.” John 3:36.

If in Adam we were all sinners, why in Jesus we cannot be all righteous? because religion doesn't like it. What Jesus did was for every man, whether if they like it or not. Unfortunately without believing it, what He did will not transpire in their life, that's what Paul Young is saying. you may want to check your scriptures yourselves. Jesus finished work is For all (1st Timothy 2:6; Isaiah 53:6). For every man (Heb. 2:9). For the world (John 3:16). For the sins of the whole world (1 John 2:2). For the ungodly (Rom. 5:6). For false teachers (2 Peter 2:1). For many (Matthew 20:28). For Israel (John 11:50-51). For the Church (Eph. 5:25). For "me" (Gal. 2:20). Obviously, he gave us free will to receive it or not. He won't force His love on anyone. Do not crucify the author or his work, only pharisees do that.

Indeed, when we were dead in our sins, God made us alive. It's not that easy to choose when one is incapable of responding, due to being dead. When Jesus raised a young man from the dead, the young man was not in a position to verbalize (physically, at least), a choice in the matter.

This is what turns people away from you-you have no idea about the others' suffering or different experiences that requires compassion to a degree that the evangelicals have no idea of how to administer, instead, I suspect that you turn to inflexibility because you simply cannot deal with the fact that Jesus came for people you dislike intensely, Your mass meetings/universal condemnation of people different from you reveal a yawning emotional and spiritaul immaturity

If he does not know if and how every man can be reconciled to God then he knows not Christ, the scriptures or the gospel. The scriptures are clear about those who belong to Christ and those who will pay the price for their own sins separated from God for an eternity.

"Every knee shall bow and every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord" .....is there any confusion about the "every" here? If "Every" knee bows and declares Jesus as Lord then how can they not be believers? That would be silly, so I see in this statement that Jesus will ultimately reveal Himself to all and they will fall and worship Him. Paul said that whoever believes will be saved. "Every knee shall bow" not Every Christian Knee Shall Bow... "Every". Gods will shall never return void and it is His will that all be reconciled to Him. If it is beyond your comprehension then this fits the description of Gods mercy. Beyond what we can imagine or think. It doesn't mean that people who don't believe in Him without seeing Him won't suffer in the last days, as we are highly blessed for believing without seeing and we will judge the ones who didn't believe without seeing.

Yes, this is a very complex issue. I listened to Paul Young in another video discuss that casting Adam out of the garden was a direct desire to protect the way to the Tree of Life. Clearly there is a life aspect to having access to the Tree of Life. Some would argue that eternal life is not a Biblical concept as it is expressed by many churches. I point you to a great book called The Fire That Consumes by Edward Fudge. What Paul is saying hear sounds very close to universalism (that ultimately everyone is saved). That is not God's teaching. An interesting question would be: what impact would the belief that eternal life is only found in Christ have on your view of heaven, hell, eternity, and salvation?
@kandimegahan7844
@kandimegahan7844 7 жыл бұрын
No, Paul Young is saying that the desire and hope is that all are saved, but that remains a mystery. Yes, salvation is only in Christ, who came into the wilderness of our lostness, as we follow one religious path and another, to rescue us - does not mean that the path is a source of salvation, but that Jesus came to save us from the many paths we lead ourselves down to destruction. Is Jesus ultimately successful in rescuing all, or do some persistently insist on holding on to their own understanding?

Mr. Young why don't you come out and say if you believe or not that Jesus is the only way to God? You are king of going around the bush round and round. @sunnyskie31503 7 жыл бұрын
First, you contradicted yourself in saying "Jesus dies for all sinners....therefore Christ did not die for them..." Christ DID die for everyone. Scripture says that He wants everyone to be saved. Just because they make the choice NOT to receive the salvation doesn't negate the fact that He made that sacrifice. I mean, to simplify the analogy- Person can give up something she wanted to do to spend time with her 3 children. But only 2 of them want to join her. Does that mean she didn't WANT the 3rd child to join in? No. She still sacrificed time for them all. That 3rd child's choice not to participate doesn't nullify the sacrifice. 1 Timothy 2:3-4(KJV) 3 For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour; 4 Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.
@sco2550
@sco2550 7 жыл бұрын
Yes He did die for entire humanity but once one doesnt acknowledge that He died for him/her, His sacrifice means nothing for that person. It's just like an atheist who does not believe that God exists. God does exist but not for that person. That person will not inherit the kingdom of God as salvation comes through Christ alone. Acts 4:12. Mr Young says in his book that Christ is "THE BEST WAY "to God but not the only way. And that is the biggest problem with his book. If Christ is not the only way, we could have used Buddhism, Hinduism, etc to get to God. An atonement was needed and He was the only one that paid the price for the sin. Mr Young is tickling the ears of people and tells them what they want to hear. Christ, the only one, is the stumbling block for many people and Young gives them a nice emotional story that is wrapped in sweet deceiving lies.

It's designed to introduce someone else's own revelation of the Lord, and if a you differ on a few points, I believe that the Holy Spirit isn't limited- He knows you need certain truths at certain times in your life and that doesn't necessarily mean someone else's truth is false. Not that false teaching doesn't exist, but I really don't experience that in this book. I think the mere fact that it is so not pro institutionalised religion, is what upsets people. Spot on! I believe we have the same basic hermeneutic principle. By "unveiling" we actually mean that the gospels explain the OT and the epistles explain the NT. Revelation is progressive and a new unveiling cannot contradict the older unveiling, otherwise the unveiling itself does not make sense. Today, western Christianity uses the epistles to invent new doctrine even if it squarely contradicts the gospels and/or the OT (EXACTLY WHAT THE GNOSTICS and Martin Luther HAVE DONE!). Using this logic, the core of Christian doctrine and practice starts with Christ in the gospels talking about the heart and the kingdom of God AND NOT Paul and his epistles because every Christian agrees that Christ is the core of the gospel, OT revelation is partial, epistles, though they are part of the word of God, should be treated as merely commentaries on the gospel of the Kingdom similar to how the early church used them.

The "Shack" is whack, because the author has a problem with the Gospel and the Sovereignty of God.

I hate the judgements christians make against other christians..not very biblical is it as the bible says that we are known for our love for one another not our criticism

The way I see it, when we die we will find ourselves before God's throne and He will give us the ultimate chance to repent and accept Christ. Therefore, if they are willing accept Christ and repent before His throne, then they will have taken their chance and they will be saved. We have to remember that some people in this world grow up without ever hearing about God or His love.

His answers, as in "if a universalist is someone who believes..." and "if a Christian is someone who believes..." are very clever and subtle. Be careful. No man has seen God at any time; The Only Begotten God Who is in the bosom of The Father, he has declared him. John 1:18 No one has seen God at any time; if we love one another, God abides in us, and His love is perfected in us. 1 John 4:12 No man has seen The Father, except he who is from God; he himself sees The Father. John 6:46 I read the book "The Shack" many years ago. Now that a film has been made based on this, it's suddenly clicked why this is blasphemous. See verses above.

What a deceived man....sad. Pray he sees the Truth before it's too late plus he's teaching False doctrine leading people astray. God help the Church who embraced his Teachings 😓

This man is deceptive- A Christian knows what the term means- it does not need to be defined. He likes to play on words. Christian means- one who follows or is like Christ. Plain and simple... Quick tongue that tickles ears... very dangerous.

some of these people are the hugely ridiculed born again who have no discernment. Divison is alive and well within Christianity - they go round asking peopel; are you saved / with no idea of what that means. They are in favour of the death penalty... etc Trump, the great pornographer, is their idol

Brian Linville Jesus is the only way the truth and the life. Compare the shack with the Bible and you'll see the shack contradicts it. That evil book should be destroyed.

Anonymously Yours Hitler was a Roman Catholic actually and they believe in a works based salvation not grace without works. And if he wanted to write a book about his life he should of done just that and not made it out to be about a 'god' of his own imagination and called it the trinity. Only Jesus (God the son) manifested in the flesh, not God the father or God the Holy Spirit.
