I had a B in US History class and ended up getting a 1 on the AP exam. I am pretty bummed out cause I was hoping to get college credit and also because I spent $92 on the test. @@agpbeats6916 thing is for some reason when I took ap us history I only had it for the fall semester. exams were in the spring. This was also when we had to do virtual classes because of covid and i had a hard time with that. It's still my fault for not studying before the exam and not being able to focus during class. I also think a big part on why I got a 1 was because I didn't complete one of the essays in the essay portion.

I got a 1 on two of my ap exams and when I saw those 1s my heart dropped, and it was the only thing I could think about throughout the whole day. I’m going to college in a month and I feel like I’m ready but these scores made me think otherwise because I paid attention in class, and took practice tests as the exam date was drawing closer. Thank you for this video, I really needed it today.

Don’t doubt yourself man, I only studied two weeks before the exams I got a 5 but I didn’t do so hot in the actual class. Ap exams cram all the knowledge into one specific test. It’s nothing like how school actually works, you’re ready and you’ll do great!

I got a 1 in APUSH (not surprising) but made a 98% in the class. It really stings when you put the effort in but don't get the grade, and it upset me too a bit but I know that it won't prevent me from going to the university I want to next year because I have many more achievements to show for. I know you've got plenty of hard work put in my guy, be proud of your strengths and learn from the rest. You're going to do great in college, all the best

It just means that on test day you were not able to reproduce what you were able to do in class. That's all. You consistently did well in class, but, for whatever reason, you didn't do that well on test day, Sounds like you should be proud of your consistent effort rather than your one time performance.

I worked so hard, I studied so hard, I did so many practice tests until I started getting 4s and 5s each time for each one. Still, I didn't get a single 5 out of all 5 of my AP exams, and I know it's good that I passed all my exams except for one, but I can't help but feel disappointed since I put months into studying and didn't get the results I wanted. I get very anxious during exams but I really thought I'd get at least one 5 this year. I should be thankful that I at least got 3s and 4s, but I can't bring myself to be proud of myself. I don't want to be that annoying kid who says things like "dang, i only got a 99, I should've got a 100" but it just hurts since the exams cost so much and I couldn't get any 5s :/ Sorry for this little vent. I just needed to get this off my chest.

I also think it’s important to remember that, no matter what score you received, the true value of taking the course comes from the content and learning techniques you were introduced to in the class. I truly believe that bc of taking apwh, I have a better understanding of how today’s social issues are a product of centuries of strained foreign relationships, colonialism, industrial development, etc. And having to practice DBQs and LEQs have made me much better at collecting pieces of evidence and connecting them to form a well-developed yet succinct argument. At the end of the day, AP exams are standardized tests, and they can only measure so much, but if you were able to get something out of this class that you’ll be able to take with you elsewhere in life, then it really doesn’t matter if you got a 1 or a 5.

Anyways, you're an amazing person Heimler, and we all appreciate you. You have inspired so many people to think critically, challenge their thoughts, and enjoy a dad joke or two. Seriously I can't thank you enough for the time I've had these past 2 years, and I'm sad that I won't be taking AP gov to enjoy another year with you, but that's alright. I love history, learning, and just being smart and thinking critically. And while I don't think I'll use my new history skills that much in a Civil engineering degree, it will always be a personal passion of mine, and most of all you taught me how to work hard and value myself. Even though we all say you carried us through these difficult courses, you always respond that it was our own hard work and dedication that brought us through. You taught us history, but more importantly, you taught us confidence and self love.

My AP stats class was great this year, my twin brother and I competed with a friend of ours to see who could get the best grade on literally every test. We eventually started getting consistent 100s on them, wrecking the grading curve on the tests so bad that our teacher actually changed how he curved the tests so that people didn't get screwed over by our friendly competitions lol. At one point my brother actually lost points with the curve (before our teacher fixed it) because the curve was intended for the expected score of around 70%. I'm happy that he changed it at least, because the curve he was using at the end actually gave more points back to low scores than the one he was using at the start. We turned a 40% into a passing grade, for example. I just wish they told us what we got as a percentage on the AP tests so we could see who won on that one.

AP Physics was worse in this regard. As soon as I took that AP Physics test I knew exactly what i was getting despite the months of studying on my own. Was not expecting APUSH though Got a 2 on Physics and a 5 on APUSH. Must be the difference between having Heimler videos to watch and not having them to watch lol

Hey Mr. Heimler, I just wanted to tell you thank you, for everything. I’ve been watching your videos since the beginning of last school year and I’m glad to have found a way to be taught history in a way less boring way. So thank you for teaching me and opening up my eyes to how different approaches can lead to better outcomes. I failed my AP World Exam last year but I passed my exam this year, i put in about the same amount of effort for both but at the end of the day they’re just grades. The difference between what you do and what most schools do now, is that you show that learning is more than grades, by having fun with it all along the way. Thank you for instilling the confidence in us all in that no matter the outcome, we can still be awesome and the world keeps turning. Thank you.

I really mean this when I say that you have helped so many students not only study for these exams, but make them feel comfortable with their scores and proud of their work. heimler is an absolute goat. watched all of his apwh videos even when i was going through a hard personal time and got an A both semesters and a 5 on the exam! his tips for the dbq especially were likely the most influential in my score to those who didn't do so well, don't be hard on yourself! even if you put in a lot of effort, its inevitable that we eventually screw up on some tests. i spent a lot of time studying for a cs test and unfortunately failed it. don't treat it like a reflection of your ability and instead think of it as a learning opportunity for what you can modify in your next class :) - stay well through covid folks

Ended up getting a 2 on apush exam. Not depressed, but a little disappointed. But the essays just rlly got me and I just kinda was skeptical over whether my writing was good or bad becuz my teacher has never graded one single freaking saq or dbq practice the entire f*****g year so I never knew if my essays were good. I prob would've gotten a 1 if it wasn't for heimler but If only I got a little feedback, then I could've gotten a 3. This sucks becuz I failed ap world last year and I wanted to come back and pass a history exam, but ofc coronavirus has to ruin everything.
