I've had my Rebel t3i for a couple years and have attempted to master my photography skills numerous times with no measurable success. I find myself setting the dial to “Auto” and Point-and-shoot. I just finished viewing your Part 1 (Canon T3i) . . . your instructions were down to earth and clear . . . thank you for making these videos. I am ready to view the rest of your videos and try again to be more efficient in understanding my camera and taking better photos.

Your explanations where simple enough that with the video, audio and CC on, I was able to follow along. I enjoyed watching and learning what this camera I have had for over 10 years can do, that I never did get up to get my camera! Much of this I learned through the boring read of the manual and just looonnnnggg learning curve. Looking forward to going through all (3) with camera in hand to refamiliarize and learn without the painful and discouraging learning curve!!! Your video was posted 12 years ago, but it is so relevant for the person who is taking the camera out of the box 'today'.

I was going to a tour and I simply grabbed t3i from Best Buy store for my photography. I messed up with its proper operation. I couldn't have any good pictures. I felt so stupid after getting back home. As I was trying to return the camera the next day, I surprisingly wanted to take a look to some of the videos of camera uses in You Tube videos. Going through some of the videos, I finally got this great video. It not only solved my problems but also gave a lot of idea of using my camera hereafter. I just felt stupid and didn't return my beautiful camera. I really think that those 44 dislikes have no T3I camera Thank You so much for the video buddy. I enjoyed being here.

So many of the "tutorials" I've watched seem to race through and use language only experienced dslr users would know, and it is often impossible to see what they just did to make such and such appear or go away. Wow! This is a great video packed with much needed information! I just purchased a T3i, but I've been working with a Vixia since 2009 so I'm not really familiar with DSLR functions. This was the best tutorial I have ever watched. I am so happy i found you. This is only the third tutorial I watched, but I am a camera noob so they didn't help. I am so relieved, i def don't need another one! I am not a tech person, i got this used with no manual, and I have never had a camera outside of my phone. New subscriber here. So glad I came across this video. I was overwhelmed by all the buttons on this thing (very first dslr). I couldn't understand why my pictures were a total blur (or blank pic) when all I wanted was the backround blurred. You cleared things up nicely, and saved me a trip back to the mall. I am taking much better photographs now that I've programmed my camera on A-DEP under your instructions. Now at least, I can tell apart my subject from its background. I still have a lot to learn, so I look forward to watching the rest of your videos. A million thanks.

You are a very good teacher. Easy to follow most of the except, often you hit a button saying lets go to the Blank feature and "I am now pressing the button for it which is right here". I had to stop the video and go back many times to see where the button you were referring to is. Very good job but if you would be more expict about where the button are you could be better. Consider the source I am new to photography so buttons really have to be pointed out. Of all the videos I have watched you are the best.

I purchased this camera to take photos of shelter dogs.Your teaching style made it easy for me to understand how to use this camera (my first DSLR) and for that you have my gratitude.By helping me take better pictures of animals in need of homes you are also helping to save their lives.I'm not ready for Part 3 yet but once I master 1 and 2 I know I'll be able to add video of the rescue dogs. Very informative presentation. The only thing that I had a problem with was that I couldn't tell which buttons you were pressing. Your finger covered two or three buttons at a time.

This is my first dslr camera , I'm finding it a little complicated with all the settings. Sometimes I trybto take a picture and I get a busy , I used to think photography was easy . You lost me from the white balance settings , but the video is very helpful.

oh my god HAHAH when i got the camera and 'opened' the screen I was a bit frustrated that I chose a screen like that, because I wanted to be able to have the screen in the middle too. then you showed that it is possible and i felt so relieved and dumb at the same time 😂

Before I bought Nikon D5100 (got it under discount with 2 kit lenses 18-55 & 55-200 for a bit more money) which is in the same range as the Canon 600D sort of speaking, I was torn apart between these 2 models. Now looking at this video I've noticed some differences between Nikon and Canon such is: on Nikon to dismount lens or zoom to object you rotate lens in opposite way than on Canon, shutter wheel also, the + & - signs on light meter are on opposite side and I think LCD swiveling is opposite.

Very cool - I didn't know about the physical button combo for aperture adjustment and therefore thought that the dial was limited to ISO and shutter speed - which had me go to the main display menu for aperture tweaks. This will speed things up. Thanks !
