Officials have confirmed Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi and Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian have been killed in a helicopter crash.
The President and Foreign Minister were on board the helicopter when it went down in heavy fog in Iran's East Azerbaijan province.
ANU Middle Eastern and Islamic Studies Professor Amin Saikal joined Sky News Australia to discuss what the death of Ebrahim Raisi would mean for Iran and its internal affairs.
