If editors of big movies would be more open about their BTS and upload videos on KZfaq about it, I’d be obsessed with all those videos. I don’t know what it is but being able to see what happens BTS of a big/popular movie is so interesting to me. Anyone else agree?

for bigger movies i’m pretty sure there ndas and other contract details that don’t allow this to happen, at least not very in depth. disney(and other major hollywood studios)definitely does not want everyone else to know exactly what their process is. it might end up hurting them.

It's amazing how this looks so much like editing a basic KZfaq video, yet it's an extremely intense and heavy version of it. I'm just a beginner and i'm pretty sure i can't even have a grasp on how difficult this is. Huge respect to the all editors around the world.

This movie along with Everything Everywhere All At Once are prime examples of "what you edit with doesn't matter". Seen so many videos recently where people argue which editing software is better so this video is such a fresh breath of air. Story is King and anything after that doesn't matter.

Great video as always... but. Locking in much of the edits before the scenes are even filmed would likely severely limit the ability to edit around performances. I can’t help think that the process removed some level of creative control from an editing point of view. To put it another way, ‘art’ was removed and replaced with ‘process’. Maybe not the best example of editing for your channel? Thanks for the upload! :)

Thanks for watching! We actually didn't lock anything before filming - quite the opposite. What we created in the previs phase was a rough backbone that we could use as a jumping off point once we had the footage from the shoot. It helped us dive right into focusing on performance instead of having to worry about animating all those graphics at the same time. Once we had all the footage cut in, we then spent many, many months reworking, rewriting, re-animating, and re-editing each scene until it was right - in both major and minor ways. This workflow allowed for a massive amount of creativity each step of the way, with infinite ways to solve problems! Cheers, hope that helps!
