I think the guy could’ve made his point about the avocados more clear 😂 but California is a HUGE producer of the fruit. I live on the east coast, and there is a noticeable difference in the avocados I’ve had at home and out in California. Idk if it has to do with climate, shipping, etc. but there is a difference, especially if you care about the details like that guy seems to, so I can imagine there’s definitely a quality difference in the UK. Probably nothing that would bother a normal person though, so idk haha The issue also probably lies in not just the quality, but the QUANTITY of how many quality avocados he needed. We’re talking hundreds of HUGE people to feed, and he clearly doesn’t want to cut quality value, so that’s probably why it seemed like a good example to him.

One of the main reasons they wouldn't store things over there on a permanent basis is because it's a different team that goes over there every year. Each team has their own method to the madness. Like this year the Green Bay Packers are going over for the first time ever, my team by the way. The season doesn't stop after an overseas game, the games go on and they all count to the overall record.

OMG, does this bring back memories! I was the chief engineer for the flagship radio station of the Minnesota Vikings back in 1993. Four of us from the radio station traveled with the team to Berlin for the 1993 American Bowl football game between our home teaam, the Minnesota Vikings, and the Buffalo Bills. You can probably imagine the teechnical requirements of getting a broadcast quality audio feed from Berlin Germany back to Minneapolis Minnesota. But that's why I was there. I had three things to take care of. Meet my Germman engineers counterparts on Monday morning before the game to integrate our equipment with theirs, a coaches show on Thursday evening, andd the game Saturday night. The rest of the time I was a tourist in Berlin. During the game, I got to sit back and explain American football to my German contemporaries. Oh yeah, Minnesota won the game!...

1. As dude said, they don’t want players to feel the difference from regular game. My guess is that they apply that to every possible detail, even down to the packaging of rubbing alcohol, etc. Individually each little detail is insignificant but the add up? 2. NFL prob has contracts with certain vendors/brands and thus cannot use products from other vendors. It’s possible some of those items are not readily available in UK and/or maybe it’s cheaper to ground/boat ship the products from USA then procure them in Uk? 3. If 2 is correct but only for some but not all NFL required game supplies, it might be easiest just to ship everything all together via the same procedure rather than min n match various shipping/procuring methods. They have so much stuff to account for that if they start using a variety of “shipping” methods it likely could get very confusing / increase room for error.

I'm not certain of this (why they brought generators) but I suspect it's because of the different voltages. We (the US) use a different amount of voltage than some, if not most european countries. For example, if you get to take that dream vacation to London, leave the hair dryer and other things at home. You'll probably set the hotel on fire! And NFL teams use a lot of electronics and gear. The generators are for on-the-field equipment. If you go down to the pitch at Wembley or Emirates Stadium or the like you dont just have 100s of electrical sockets strewn about the field. NFL teams have tons of equipment that needs power on their sidelines, from exercise bikes to medical equipment to charging docks for the electronics to fans/space heaters depending, the list goes on. Obviously they know that you guys have electricity, but you cant jsut plug your medical equipment into the grass on the sideline and assume its going to start working.

RE: Players drinking. My understanding is technically they are NOT banned from drinking. But may players abstain for various reasons, espeically during the season. And there are strict rules about drinking alcohol on duty, at the team facility, at any NFL functions. Bascially any place they are out repping the team or NFL brand, which is probably most places. But i guess that means in the privacy of your own home or friends house technically you can do what you want. But if you end up stumbling out the door and getting a public DUI, you're in deep deep shit and getting fined or fired.

I was in the hotel reservation business years back. You, never, never ever put an NFL team's cheerleaders in the same hotel as the players. Never. All the ambient temperatures, tailored menus, and soft lighting in the world isn't going to conserve their energy like a bit of forced abstinence. Then you have all the groupies with fake ID's claiming to be some player's wife or sister or something. Then there are the professionals who knock room to room offering their services. The Dallas Cowboys would even set up "party houses" on the road (other cities) full of booze, blow, and blondes.

Yeah if you think Guacamole is bland that's PRECISELY why they are like, we need our own Avocados. And guac has lots of chili pepper, lime juice, herbs in it too. Plus if you're in California as this team is, they grow Avocados and so does Mexico. And that influence is also part of the dietary culture. So i'm guessing he mentions Avacados cause tons of players would want it but it's probably going to disappoint them. Also Calfornia is the biggest food producing state in the US so the amount of quality produce you get there easily is pretty absurd. Because we're so close It's much easier to get some fresh produce items than in other places. From lettuce, anything leafy green, to nuts, to grapes, etc. you name it.

More like thousands of Avocados. That aren't going to be ripe at the right time to impress people living in a region of the world were avocados are an easy dumb reach and it's of exceptional standard. Same with like corn in the midwest. It's monumentally better and sweeter than in other regions. They get really good corn. And maybe in New Orleans there's a staple diet ingredient you need at high standards like shrimp, or oysters, or crawfish. Like i totally get it. Like i've lived all over the country and and some places it's a struggle to get a half decent burrito. Chipotle is considered quality and "Mexican" in some places.

As an American from the west coast I think the teams are over blowing the coddling of the players. Like damn man, leave on Tuesday or Wednesday, by Friday they'll be set on London time. There are professional sports franchises in the UK who I am sure would love to make that money helping NFL teams with getting proper nutrition.

What happens if some of the players or staff have criminal records where they are not admissible into the UK? Some of these players come from rough neighborhoods and I'm sure some have had run-ins with the law.

@@harrisvolheim2015 - The guys were talking about logistics in regards to getting passports and visas for the players. I know that you cannot get into Canada from the USA if you have certain types of criminal records such as DUI. Football players are always getting into trouble so I'm sure some of them have police records that would not allow them into a foreign port. You hear about drug use, DUI, gun charges, sexual assaults and physical assaults by players all the time! And that is why I'm asking this question.
