You can't beat 2 guitars, a bass, and drums. - Lou Reed's quote in the original liner notes for one of his best solo projects, New York.

That's the one that pulled me back in after a decade of listening to P-Funk and '70s Miles.

@@stashdauber yeah my musical likes vary pretty considerably. Tbh tho the last project of Lou's I really enjoyed and gave repeat listens to was Set The Twilight Reeling.

@@bluecollar825 Abiding regret: missing Lou in '96 because I didn't dig "Twilight" (took a minute to wrap my head around happy Lou in love; now it's a fave). What did I think, he was coming back to Texas? Stupid, stupid man.

The original is played in the same position but in D Standard tuning! Sounds way better with the lowered tuning. Great cover - especially the solo!

it's like when you listen to a Stones song - but there's 2 guitars - in different tune-ings. DoGGee - hahhaha

@@zahadou Oh dude, that confuses the shit out of me. Like when I was a kid I was like, why does Keith's G chord sound so thick and full? Then I grew up and realized it was Open G tuning haha

Sterling Morrison would be so proud. THAT was an insanely good rendition. Unusually soulful, and melancholy. Wish you didn't cut it off so soon. Any chance of doing 'I Heard Her Call My Name' in the near future? You're my new favorite guitar hero.

One of the greatest rhythmn guitar parts ever! The best is Foggy Notion in my opinion. Lou and Sterling interlocking together is pure genius

the solo is great but it's your version. The original drones or splices two notes whereas you play them. You are, as Mozart put it, 'playing too many notes' but your rhythm is amazing. So is the solo.

You are by far a better lead player than rhythm plus you need a cheaper guitar velvets always sound more authentic on cheapo guitars Personal experience has taught me so But i enjoyed your playing thanks nice one 👍 ☺

I wonder if you could advise hollow body guitar like folcon or gentleman for a novice Velvet player? Cheap ones are just more suitable for me😀
