This is a quick look at the different types of Graco Sprayers we have. Not an in-depth look at the individual pumps and their full use. That will follow in other videos.

Bought a Graco EH333 in 1967 and a EH433 in 1972 and never looked back. Over 50 years and still pumping a gallon a minute at 3000 psi, parts are no problem too.

@@theCOATINGlife In 1967 a Graco EH333 cost $800, exactly half the price of a brand-new Chevy panel truck with a straight 6 engine and a 3-speed column shift with no radio. They were the good old days.

Graco EM480 here, that has been the best profit creating machine I ever purchased.. Thousands of gallons of paint put through it, I had my own Rusto Rep that would show up on the job site..

In the, UK have a 495, 695 , got the use of Graco King, bulldog , emperor, for really fine stuff started using the Triteck T 5 with the gold tip even number ff , nice to and hear some body who actually knows about airless , started spraying in 1972

I'm a red seal industrial painter and use my 640 titan spraying HB epoxies but use the graco king for inorganic zincs..

Yes that should work, depending on the product it may be underpowered but then you could always dilute the product a tiny bit and just build the film thickness. For heavy waterproofing coatings you would need a Graco Duty Max GH 695di or higher. Hope that helps.😃

If you are referring to the King you need 185 cfm compressor. For the Merker you can you a 150 psi electrical tank 60 gallon.

If it’s a repaint and you’re only using something like an exterior weather-guard flat latex, then the 490 will do the job. However if it’s brand new concrete and you’re doing block filler then you need the 795 or a 1095. Hope this helps, feel free to ask if you have more questions

What sprayer do you think has the highest output for commercial production .thx

Thanks for the comment toughest tools, that is a hard question to answer as it greatly depends on what type of products you need to spray. I would look for a gun that has dual output and that can handle two triggers at the same time which comes available at 695, 795 as well as in the larger pumps. It also depends on how much hose you’re hoping to run. If you’re looking for a pump that’s able to spray level five then you will need a Mk V or may be a 1595. Hi there, liked and subscribed. What machine would you recommend for elastomeric roof coating The application calls for a 0.33” tip. It’s for a metal terra-cotta looking roof. Thanks.

You’ll probably need a Greco 1095. However you might make it with a 795 if you already own it.

I recommend the Graco 490 Mk 2, the 390 will work OK if you don’t spray elastomerics on stucco.

Great question, Anything smaller than a 795 will burn out the motor. You might be able to do it with a 595 or 695 but it is not recommended. Thanks for the comment, hope this helps!

I never used the Dulux paint membrane specifically, if it is a silicone based system then no it wouldn’t work. If it is a water based system then maybe. Thanks for the comment 😃

I'd like to start asphalt striping on the side for extra income. Since I cant afford the proper machines that are over $2000, do you think the graco magnum X7 is doable for small jobs??

You might be able to spray the water-based line paint if you dilute it and water it down. Overtime it’s not ideal. My recommendation would be to buy a used gas powered Linepainting unit from an auction or something like that. One of the challenges would be power, running extension cords across the parking lot, also for long lines to use stencils. Hope this helps, Best of luck!

I spray drywall primer. Which one do you recommend?

The Graco 490 mk2 will do you just fine for drywall primer. If you want one with wheels or with out is just preference. The actual pump is the same on both models. You could even get away with a 390 if it’s not a everyday thing but you just do it occasionally. Hope that helps

We’ve also had good luck with PPG breakthrough on cement and concrete. PPG Pitt-Tech EDF on metal, it’s actually one of our favourite products altogether. Hope this helps, best of luck!

Do you think $200 more for graco 495 is worth it then the 490?.. Do you prefer lo boy or the stand version?

If a 495 is the only gun you will have then I think it’s worth the extra $200. We prefer the stand because it’s small and light and can easily be thrown into a back of a truck or a trunk of a car. Having said that, we have the larger units for the larger jobs when when rolling the unit around with a 5 gallon pail connected makes sense. Hope this helps. Thanks for the comment!

We have a Alkyd Enamel with 57% solids. Would you recommend the King or another machine?

Great question, Dulux (PPG Paints) has a product 4336 which is a Alkyd enamel is about 50 to 52%. It calls for a 13-15 tip. A Graco 490 should be able to spray it. If it’s a bigger job then you may want to use a 795. They also have a product called 7-Line Alkyd. It’s 58% solids. Calls for a 15 or 17 tip, so spraying with any airless from a 490 and up should work. A King would be over kill but if you already have it and it’s a huge job and you want to run very long lines and multiple triggers than that would work as well. Hope this helps. 😃

Thanks for the reply. We have a problem spraying with an airless because of the amount of overspray and material deposited. We are spraying 2" metal pipe (vertical and horizontal) outdoors. We are looking at the Triton pump air system and also the Merkur system both are the air option. Which would you recommend for spraying Sherwin Williams Macropoxy 646 / Acrolon 218 HS and the heavier solids outdoors in the wind. Thank you@@theCOATINGlife

@user-ey9mu8wu9w I don’t have any experience with the Triton, but we have used the Merker with the PPG equivalent for the Sherwin williams products. It took a little while to dial in the sprayer to where I was satisfied with the finish & material used, etc.. we had to dilute the product a fair bit. I would not use the king if over spray is an issue though the king can spray almost anything all day with out being diluted.

That depends on the roof but assuming that it is in good condition with no leaks, has a slope and not a lot of rust... then we would normally use PPG Pitt-Tech EDF.

It would depend on what type of coating you would be spraying. But I would probably pick either a battery operated unit like the pro shot HD or gas powered unit so that I wouldn’t need to worry about a generator for power. Hope that helps.

The data sheet says you need a 35:1 pump. Not sure of the ratio for the 1095 but you could always dilute the product a tiny bit if need be. Having said that, I have sprayed a similar product with a 795 many times.

Hey can we use a (Graco 17C305 Pro210ES Cart Pro Connect Paint Sprayer) for parking lot striping? It cost 1k and Ive heard good things but haven't seen anyone use them

Thanks for the comment, great question. According to the equipment brochure it states that it’s not designed for Block fillers and Ashphalt Coatings. So if you were to use that gun it would not last, could you do one job or two… Most likely but you may need to thin the product a bit. Hope this helps

@@randomguy2369 Long-term it will mess up the entire machine, it’s not designed for products with high solids. However, when I started… I started with a small unit and replaced it once I had earned enough money. As long as you are aware that it won’t last. Cheers and Merry Christmas!

Hi, thanks for the question. If you are renting to paint your house, assuming that you will be using regular latex paint, then the 395 or 490 will do everything you need.

@@theCOATINGlife have to be honest I doing this job solo,all of my quote are way expensive and I get it most painters are very good at there craft so I been doing a lot of KZfaq how to paint a stucco house and I seen serval videos of people using flat.I live in Southern California not quite sure if that ok and iam planning buying my paint from Sherman willing and all my masking supplies from a big box stores,will probably hire someone in the box store parking lot to back roll as I spray

Can you spray for a level 5 with the Graco Tx 90?

Theoretically yes, You would need to trowel it out immediately and it would be a struggle to achieve a good finish as it’s designed for texture primarily. If you have the option to rent or buy a Mk 4 or Mk 5 that would be ideal. I believe they have re-branded them to 3in1 last year though.

If I could only pic one then it would be the 795 High boy with smart controller and contractor wheel. It's versatile and convenient. Light enough that you can lift it into your truck if you are alone but powerful enough to spray everything for regular latex, to block filler and dry-fall.

Pretty much all sprayers use more paint than a brush and roll application. However, application speed and coverage is far superior.

@@theCOATINGlife i want a sprayer to paint walls, cabinets and furniture, but also machinery for restorations. But I also need a hopper to repair a part of my moms popcorn ceiling so she can sell her house

It seems to me that you need more than one type of sprayer. My recommendation would be to use the 90/10 rule, whichever sprayer will work 90% of the time that’s the one you buy, the other ones you rent on a as per needed basis.
