G'day from Australia 🦘 Great podcast Curtis. You are totally right - resurrection of the body (not just faith) otherwise it dramatically diminishes the overall message and typology of both the Old and New Testaments. It also points to the miracle of Jesus' physical resurrection - he prophesied this to his apostles and kept his promise! I'd say, it's really simple.

I really appreciated the apologetics for proof of Christ's bodily Resurrection in this Gospel passage, and it was very interesting to learn about the links between the Scripture references in Luke's Gospel and his Book of Acts. I always learn something valuable from these videos! God bless the St. Paul Center, and happy Easter season to all! Christ is risen! Indeed He is risen! And He is the Lord of all!

Medically speaking Jesus is back a newly transformed and sanctified fleshly body, he eats, drinks, touches apostles etc. It is proof, that we also will follow this pattern...touches his wounds we need to proclaim again an again: DOMINUS MEUS, DEUS MEUS!

These men stayed with Jesus 3 years. Why were they not able to recognize Him?

Jesus viel himself, not to be recognized, until Jesus opened their minds by explaining to them all scripture and the breaking of the bread,

As Curtis explained, the Jews only knew of a bodily resurrection at the end of time but here Jesus was resurrected way too soon... Since Jesus was in a glorified bodily form, they hesitated to accept him for they fear he was a ghost!

Hi Joseph. In answer to your question, their human (not divine) nature got the better of them. They're like us, really ...doubting Thomas's. Interesting though, Jesus goes back to the Old Testament to make a case for himself in addition to showing them his wounds. I think there is a lesson there for all of us.
