Chris Barnes, vocalist for Six Feet Under, and former Cannibal Corpse singer was fired from Cannibal Corpse in 1995, due to creative and personal differences. The final collaboration with Cannibal and Barnes was called Created to Kill, which later became the Vile album with George Corpsgrinder Fisher taking over as the band's new singer. I’m a huge fan of Chris and Corpsegrinder, as well as Cannibal and 6 feet under. Something that I believe most people are overlooking as far as chris’s vocals falling off is that doing harsh vocals for long enough will damage your voice. I truly do not believe there is any full proof way to perform metal vocals consistently without some form of damage. proper technique will reduce the damage, not prevent it. I just think certain vocalists have better technique and are able to hang in there for longer. Really hope 6 feet tours again at some point. George and cannibal are both amazing live, but there’s just something about the way Barnes works the crowd that I just love. It would be amazing to see that in person. Have a great day everybody! Yea I think technique, and taking care of voice and throat is a major factor. Corpsegrinder does not smoke , which Barnes likey did. Also just think barnes had a different style that wasn't as good for his voice perhaps. Glad you enjoyed it😎

Theres plenty of death metal vocalists that have been going for years. Smokin blunts all day is what killed chris voice im pretty sure he smoked meth for a while too. Just look at what happened to their former guitarist alan west

@@AndrewMarloweTV I think you should review Arghoslent if you haven’t ever heard of them controversial for sure but some of the best melodic death metal you’ll hear around their recent album isn’t very good but their first 3 are excellent

Definitely heard of them. I had a band called Arthurian Shield that everyone said sounded like them, even though I didn't know arghoslent at the time. Would love to cover them soon

The first Six Feet Under album was good imo. It was like Cannibal Corpse X Obituary, that was the only one I liked though.

Yea it was fresh in the beginning I supsoe but didn't become anything substantial. Having said that I haven't really listened to them in a deep way so I can't say for sure

This topic is beaten to death everyone wonders why an almost 50 year old man who damaged his voice with years of performing death metal vocals combined with alcohol and cannabis abuse, cannot perform the same way he did in his early 20's.

The other bands that were associated with cannibal members, solstice, monstrosity etc.. were far superior to both Cannibal and Sfu but I get the name value and branding. Cool video
