Christopher Walken is the greatest of the greats. A legendary character actor who became an icon, chances are, if you're reading this, you've tried to do a Christopher Walken impersonation. It's too hard not to, as no one really sounds, or acts quite like Walken, do they? But before he became iconic for how over-the-top/wacky he is, he was a down-to-earth actor who collected a much-deserved Oscar for his role in Michael Cimino's The Deer Hunter. Often, Walken's skill gets overlooked in favor of self parody, but here we dig into the whole scope of his career. This episode of What Happened to this Celebrity, which is written (with Mathew Plale), narrated and produced by Taylor James Johnson, and edited by Kier Gomes, we dig into this one of a kind talent.
What are your favorite Christopher Walken movies? Let us know in the comments!

You missed a GIANT part of Walken's professional story. He began acting when he was a kid, along with his two brothers, starring in commercials, live TV, and anything else they could cast him in. His mother managed his career but wasn't pushy, and Walken has said he really enjoyed it. He is one of the few child actors who survived to become successful as an adult. His mother was Scottish, so did not need to learn English, but his father was German. It was people in the neighborhood (multicultural) that caused him to develop his speech style. He started dancing as a small boy and danced on Broadway long before he did movies, starring in the road version of the original West Side Story. He met his wife, another dancer, while touring, and they are still together. These are things anyone knows who has taken the slightest interest in him. Next time, at least read Wikipedia, guys. P. S. He does not care how well or poorly his movies do. He's there to do the job, which he loves. Best attitude I've ever heard.

My favourite casting story about Christopher Walken is that he almost became Jesus Christ in Martin Scorsesse's adaptation of The Last Temptation Of Christ until they decided to go with Willem Dafoe instead. A true icon, acted as a child went on to broadway then Hollywood! Worked his ass off, deserves more accolades in my humble opinion!

I’ve loved him since at least The Dead Zone (I’m also a big King fan) and the parody of himself/his character he did for SNL was hilarious too. Also if anyone here has not seen the “Weapon of Choice” video I would recommend you just go watch it now, it’s so good.

Milagro Beanfield War, not Milargo - directed by Robert Redford. Love this 'WTF happened to' series. The recaps of entire careers is a great memory jogger.

I adore him in Severance. He and John Turturo are magic together. It's one of his roles where the writing elevates his performance since Severance is the best written show I've seen in a long time.

The last I even enjoyed a role by him was in Seven Psychopaths, his acting in the 2010s was just minor roles o cameos. He was a powerhouse in the 80, 90s and 2000s

I'm just trying to imagine a universe were Christopher Walken is Han Solo and what that would be like. I need to see it and know Disney can do it 🤣🤣

An actor whose mere presence in a mediocre project can instantly make it better... Except for "Peter Pan Live", which we don't address.

Little known fact: the Fatboy Slim video did not include wirework. Christopher Walken can just simply fly through the power of shear magnanimous radiance. In fact, for some, seeing Christopher Walken floating in front of a large ominous painting is the last thing they will see.......
