INTERESTING THINGS TO NOTE! I forgot to mention in the video that if she was napping, her slippers would not be one. Yet her slippers were missing as well, which to me says the nap is either a false story or she herself had gotten up in which case her step father would have noticed her up and about. SECONDLY, thanks to a brilliant commenter, if the dog slipped out of his collar then HOW did the appraiser know where to return the dog to? So many questions......

With the dog one, it wouldn’t be uncommon with a bigger dog to use a harness. The harness could have broken, especially if it was old, letting duke run off. A lot of people have a collar with a tag and a separate collar to use a leash with. It’s possible Duke was wearing two collars and he only slipped out of one

Dee R right. U would be surprised with how many women stay with men who have been accused to sexual assault. I just saw a case where a lady's boyfriend raped her 10 yr old so many times, and she was completely aware and didn't care, until he got the girl pregnant, then the mom got mad at the daughter, and so the boyfriend ended up getting turned in... she then moved another man in who sexually assaulted her kid. She eventually got her kids taken away, but she only reported it cause she was jealous that he seemed to give the 10 yr old more attention than her

As a mother, how can you get back/stay with someone who was accused of sexual assault on your daughter. If it was a lie why would she put it in her diary? Usually if kids lie like that they actually say it to the parents face. They dont put in a diary. This leads me to believe that the mother was part of it. Yet another case of a mother choosing a boyfriend over their own kid. 13 is the age where teen girls start getting "difficult" especially with their mothers. Maybe that pushed the mother to start to dislike her daughter (which is super fucked up) and so when the stepfather sexually assaulted the daughter and killed her, the mother was like with him on it.

Nassari Hyman very terrible for you to assume that if a child were to lie about abuse that they would simply tell their parents... don’t all parents say that if anything happened to tell them? Girl..
@nassarihyman2864
@nassarihyman2864 6 жыл бұрын
Aaisha Hill i dont think you got what i was saying. Some children dont like there new step parents and they do realize that "hey abuse is something serious i could say that and they will make him go". So thats what i meant by "if it was a lie", which is obviously what the mother thought it was since she got back with the man who her daughter accused of sexual assault. If it was a lie why would she write alie down in a diary, knowing her mother wouldnt have seen it. If it was a lie she wouldve told her mother to get rid of her stepfather. Which she didnt do. Meaning it HAD to be truth if she was keeping it a secret.
@apoorvapandharpurkar2283
@apoorvapandharpurkar2283 6 жыл бұрын
Nassari Hyman I completely agree. If her intention was to lie in order to paint her stepfather in a bad light, she would’ve told her mother to her face, not written in a diary which she knew nobody would read. It was only read after her disappearance. Also I don’t think children can really lie about sexual abuse. Especially young children. Most children don’t even know enough about sex to make up a sexual abuse story, unless the source of information was the actual abuse.

One of the strangest details of this is that Rachel wasn't allowed to contact her paternal grandmother, I think that speaks a lot to the mother's character. To me, it seems like she valued being with Vincent more than her child, why else would you stay with someone accused of sexually assaulting and potentially murdering your child? I think she could have even been involved in the disappearance.
@sierrarenee9701

Maggie also if I had a child with someone and we divorced, I wouldn’t deny my child the rights to spend time with his/her fathers side of the family. I know some people are like that after a divorce but something must have really been wrong if Rachel called and knew she could get in big trouble for doing if her mother found out. I wonder if they contacted the grand mother and spoke to her? At least to see if she got a voicemail from Rachel or anything
@MakeupByMags
@MakeupByMags 6 жыл бұрын
exactly!! I think the fact she didn't allow rachel to contact them just reinforces she did not have rachel's well-being as a priority and possibly was worried about what rachel would tell them. even if you don't like your ex and/or their family, the child is still their's as well and they should be allowed to see each other. the mother just seems fishy to me.

the fact they moved away breaks my heart. I’m sure they got a lot of backlash which is rightfully so but say for some reason Rachel is out there somewhere and okay. If that’s the only Home she’s ever known what if she tries to go back one one day? Only to find out they aren’t there anymore? What if she tries to call and finds out the number has been changed and dissconnected. I know it’s extremely extremely unlikely but soooooo many people refuse to change their address or phone number just in case their missing child pops up somewhere.

dahmer xoxo to me, them moving away seems guilty. Most parents of missing stay in the same house or keep the same number in case they ever come back - even decades later. The mother had no hope and isn’t even the one campaigning to find her.. they probably moved knowing she’d never come back!

As somebody wrote here: she could have gotten pregnant with him and that’s why she felt bad that day. Maybe she told him, he got scared and killed her. He had enough time to hide her body somewhere. 1. Failed lie decector tests 2. Scratches on his body 3. She writing about him sexually abusing her 4. The pillow and blanket missing (blood?) 5. Crazy dog story with some stranger being able to return the dog knowing the address without the collar There is just too much pointing into his direction. Her mom being with him after she learned about that Rachel’s diary entry? Kinda sick I am 99% sure Vincent and Rachel’s mom watched the video and possibly read the comments. Why on earth would she leave her daughter home alone with a man who was not her father,the mother should have stayed home with her daughter. I'm sure there were signs that Rachel was having trouble.I mean,the mother was so pathetic that she actually got back with a man "who her own missing daughter stated molested her".He had scratches on him from somewhere and you mean to tell me that the police didn't find that suspect?The dog excuse is suspect to me.I have seen cases where people are still tried without a body.I wouldn't be surprised at all,if the mother was involved in her daughter's disappearance and she used her job as cover._*

Vincent is absolutely guilty. I believe that he decided to assault her as soon as the rest of the family left the house, and she was more prepared to fight back since he had done this to her before. She scratched him and fought back, which is why he had scratches and scrapes on his body. Since Vincent had a history of domestic violence, he might have hit her or choked her to the point where if anyone saw her, she would report what happened and Vincent would go to prison. He didn't want to give her that chance to speak, so he decided to take her a few hours away and kill her (since there was no blood evidence in her house). He drove back home, created the story, and the rest of the family got home. He hadn't memorized all the details of his fake story, which is why there were a lot of inconsistencies. Her poor mom is in denial and didn't want to accept or believe that Vincent killed her daughter. As for the phone call to her grandmother, I believe she was trying to call to see if her grandmother could come get her or see if she could live with her instead to escape the abuse of Vincent. I hope he goes to rot in jail, because he is as guilty as it gets.

My theory is that he likely did see her being sick and tired as an opportunity to abuse her. I think he would have maybe tried to sneak on her while she was trying to nap, but didn’t realize she would wake up so easily or didn’t realize she wasn’t fully asleep, and maybe she threatened to call her grandmother and tell on him to get herself removed from the household since he would ensure her mother wouldn’t believe her, so he got angry and suffocated her with her pillow so she couldn’t tell on him and no neighbors would hear her. He might have not intended initially to kill her, maybe just to show her he had the upper hand and could stop whatever attempts she made to expose him, but maybe it went too far or he didn’t realize how quickly her lungs would give up. All his scratches were from her fighting back. He then disposed of her body, wrapping her in the likely contaminated blanket and including the pillow used, leaving no evidence remaining since suffocation leaves few traces. I think he brought her to Lake Michigan, otherwise we would have found her by now. Or he may have gotten help from Peterson, maybe he had buried her somewhere far off or hid her in a storage unit or something, and when Peterson found out he offered help and they found an equally hidden place as where he placed Stacy, or then brought her to Lake Michigan.
@ellespoonies
@ellespoonies 6 жыл бұрын
Theory 2 goes very similarly, but starts a bit differently. My second theory starts with the assumption that the assault had been occurring frequently and had happened more than that one documented time. In this theory, she’s not feeling well so Vincent decides to bring her to the doctor while taking care of her that day. While there, they learn that she isn’t sick, she’s very early in a pregnancy. She likely calls her grandmother at this point, maybe hiding from him, trying to tell her what’s happening and that she needs help. Horrified and angry, he does something to her, probably outside of the home, and she dies. Again, it could be an accident but unlikely. It’s hard to say what he could’ve done given she’s never been found and we don’t know the state of her body. So, given he’s just killed a girl who he’s assaulted into pregnancy, he decides to dispose of her and frame it as a kidnapping. He goes home and grabs her blanket and pillow, wraps her up, and disposes of her in a similar way as theory one.
@ellespoonies

I hate to say it but a lot of times in cases like this, the mother is just as much a part of the child's abuse as the step parent. There is a high possibility that she split with him to avoid suspicion and when she felt the hype died down, got back with him. If she knew what happened to her daughter it is easier to believe her moving away and changing numbers not expecting her daughter to ever come back. I feel awful for the father that he was kept away from his daughter only to loose her completely. That was the other thing that bothered me. Not allowing the daughter to have any contact with the father's family at all makes it very much like isolation of a victim of abuse.... Her calling the grandmother before her going missing indicates that she would have felt safe with that side of the family and trusted them. She deserves justice regardless of anything else

I think it was definitely Vincent, who leaves the door unlocked when their child is inside sleeping even if they’re not gone long. and the dog thing seems totally fabricated it’s too much of a coincidence no one walks their dogs in weather that cold? I mean I don’t anyways,and how would the appraiser person know where to return the dog just in time before the family got back. I think what happened is what you said in the video , he tried to assault her while she was in bed but she fought back so he killed her out of frustration and fear she’d tell. This story is so sad I hope that poor girl gets justice someday

I used to watch several channels that do these kinds of stories. Then I found your channel, and through you I found LordenArts. Well ya'll are so detailed and do so much research that I can't watch any other channels because I get so frustrated at the lack of research they do. The way you look at all the angles and put so much effort in these videos is amazing. It's so obvious that you care about the victims in each case that you cover snd I think that makes your videos so much better. While it's great that other channels are bringing exposure to cases that need it, I wish they were more like you and John and truley care about the victims. Certain channels just really get under my skin when they do a 10 or 15 minute barely researched video, and you can tell they just do it for views. I know I'm thankful for you and John for raising exposure while showing concern and compassion for each victim, and I'm sure the families are just as thankful!

With true feelings and multiple perspectives so it can mold to anyone. Retelling a story is one thing but to really humanize these people and make it seem more real than just a story makes all the difference. I try my hardest to do all of that in hopes I can help at least one person! This is the best comment and I will always remember it❤️

To be fair I grew up in this area and people did take their dogs on walks in this weather. We’re used to it. I used to walk to work in below zero all the time. We couldn’t not walk our dog for several days in a row. But no people wouldn’t hang out in this weather outside. But if it was this cold the lakes in the area were probably frozen or close to it and the river too. Bodies often come ashore in Lake Michigan bc of the currants. And the ground would be too frozen to dig. He probably hid the body until springtime.

Did Vincent or his family have any KNOWN connection to Drew Peterson or other law enforcement officers? Did anyone see him leave by car that day? Did they have a garage with direct access into the home so he wouldn't have been seen carting her body off? Danelle Hallan, do you know these details?

The stepfather is certainly guilty...but the cop, Drew, he had kids, was good to them, he had no history of harming kids, he didn't fit that profile..he was a great dad, but he was horrible to his spouses. I doubt Drew would harm or cover for someone who killed a kid, the most horrific and heinous crime in the world. But I do believe he killed his spouses? Absolutely..that's bad enough. But the stepfather of Rachel is definitely a monster.

People do walk their dogs in inclement weather, twisting out of a collar and chasing a rabbit is normal dog behavior but it just seems too convenient. She looks like a fighter to me. She may have made a fatal error by threatening to tell on the step-father and he snapped. Maybe that's the reason she was calling her Grandma, she felt the Mom wouldn't listen but a Grandma would. Pretty hard to runaway at 13 and stay successfully hidden. I think she's dead. Very sad, such a beautiful looking young girl.

Look into the Celina Cass case, it's eerily simmilar to this one, with the suspect being the stepfather, the possible abuse, and the girls' ages were close. However, the one difference is that Celina's body was found in a river near her house, wraped up in her blankets, a few days later. It's acctually scary how close the stories are. It's so sad that no justice has been brought to these young girls :( Love from NH!

I feel like maybe the mother had something to do with it aswell. I mean, a mother whose daughter is missing moves to another state with step-father. Knowing that the mother wouldn't allow her daughter to contact any family member from her biological father's side... Maybe the step-father was not only physically abusive but psicologically abusive. He convinced her that her daughter was "bad" or she shouldn't care for her, or threatened her, because the mother knew about the assaults, and that way conviced her aswell to move away. Althought she was at work, she probably knows something. Maybe a mini series about the river murders around the US could be interesting. I've researched it a couple of times, and is pure speculation but none the less interesting. I don't remeber the names of the victims but it was a conspiracy about how in different states, there were murders that happened in a very similar way where they found the body in a river after a night out. It's very similar to a case from my city in Spain about Víctor Da Silva who was found dead in the river, I know friends of his and they all thought there was foul play but ruled it an accident. Just a thought, love your videos!

Yet still 1) He hasn’t been charged or at the very least, looked into more. And 2) She is still with him??? I’m sorry, I know Danelle everyone “grieves in their own way” as you say. I’m not sure of what deranged “coping mechanism” or “grieving in one’s own way” a mother could have to dismiss a diary entry in her child’s own writing implicating her spouse of sexual assault of HER own child AND THEN her child just conveniently goes missing. Her mother is diluted. As a mother myself, this makes me physically sick to even imagine. This is sick! No excuses. None.

This is similar to the Hailey Dunn Murder. Billy Jean Dunn, and the Moms live in boyfriend Shawn Adkins are the the only suspects. She went missing over xmas holiday. Mom last saw her on a Sunday night. The next day she tells her brother she is going to a sleepover. Tuesday the mom texts the friend to tell Hailey to come home. The Friend says she never came to her house for the sleep over. The cops treated the disappearance as a run away for a long time. The mom and boyfriend were drug users and into so scary stuff involving masks and serial killers. Many interesting things came out after the mom and bf took and failed many lie detector tests. The affidavits of the arrest warrants for the home and car have a lot of crazy information in them. Mom was arrested for hindering the investigation when the investagotors shows up at her home to question Shawn Adkins, the live in, and she said he wasn't there. But he actually was. Drugs were also found which lead to her arrest. The community was outraged that she the mother continued to allow the boy friend to live in the home being the only suspect in her daughters disappearance, and actually had a New Years Party a few days later without a care in the world. She also mishandled the donation money and changed her phone number and moved across Texas. Haileys bio dad was arrested on the day the missing persons report was made for drug charges after the law enforcement went to his house to question him about the last whereabouts of this beautiful 13 yr old. The mother was featured on Nancy Grace a few times and found out on live TV that her boy friend quit his job the day she went missing and pretended to go to work for several days, but actually was at his mothers house online doing some sick shit. Cell pings later show he made a detour from work and went back to the family home. LE supposably found 100,000s of porn on the computer he used at his moms and several Zip drives that were found at the home, but Shawn was never brought to trial on that. Her body was found a county away, 3 yrs later, where the boyfriend had worked at the time and had family in the area. He even stated in the LDT that Hailey would be found in Scurry Co after the administrator of the test asked him where she could be located. He also asked Shawn the live in who should be looked at in this case and he stated him and the mom. I believe the boy friend sexually assaulted Poor Hailey and murdered her, although investagotors, FBI and Texas Rangers never charged him or anyone with the murder. Many believe the cops didn't do a good job handling the case in the beginning, like a lot of cases u do, which lead to many people in the community and people involved to do their own sluething. A lot of information in this case. Please check this out. I would love to hear your theory's and this case and spread awareness and get justice for Hailey Dunn.

** large bodies of water don't freeze over, like Lake Michigan. And considering it had been so cold out recently, if a body is put into a large body of water that remains colder than 45 degrees, which Lake Michigan definitely would have been--sometimes year round at its depths--the body will never begin to decompose. Decomposition is what causes the body to float to the surface!

*Possible Scenario (What I think happened):* Her stepdad had been molesting her for a while. The mother, of course, would know about this and would choose the stepdad over her daughter. Biggest proof of this is her sticking by the stepdad even when they found an entry in her daughter's diary of him sexually assaulting her. On that day, the stepdad planned to have his way with the girl knowing they would be alone. He began molesting her, and then left her for a short while to go to the bathroom or to do a similarly short task. He comes back and finds her holding the phone calling up her grandmother from her father's side. He attacks her in an effort to make her hang up the phone, before anyone picks up on the other end. She fights back and leaves scratch marks on him. He goes for a final strike that might have been fatal itself, or was enough to knock her over and make her hit her head on something on her way down killing her instantly. So why didn't he just say that it was an accident? Well, knowing that the police would start looking for clues at the scene of her "accident", it would be easier to get caught. For that reason, he decides to dump the body somewhere and fabricate this entire story increasing the number of possible perpetrators. The missing child story line makes it less likely for the police to concentrate their efforts on the actual scene of the crime. - *Detective Extraordinaire Jessica Trentwood*

You really do look like the dark haired version of Christina Applegate. Xx

This is so frustrating and so so sad. The basic facts shocked me so I came straight here to see what you thought about it. Exactly what I was looking for in detail and presentation. Thanks

Literally have been binge watching your videos! 😍 I recently stumbled across them and I’m obsessed! These stories are so sad but soooo interesting! Btw your gorgeous girl, is that your natural curly hair? 😱 If not please show us how you do that please! Also, random question - where is your tumbler from?!

I believe she told her mom about the sexual assault, and the mom didn't believe her. Countless mothers will choose the abuser over the child. I think she wasn't sick at all and maybe took the chance to leave the toxic situation she was in, perhaps the grandma helped her. Or the stepdad killed her in the middle of assaulting her and got rid of her.

yeah and a lot of times the mother doesnt even know about the assault which also could happen more than just one time. This is why single parents shouldnt date. i've heard way too many stories about this with single parents who marry someone else and their child is still in the home

@@2468whodoweappreciate oh trust me. A lot of single parents don’t date (my daughter is 19, and she’s never even seen me with a guy). All of us are not “desperate” to have a man so bad that we just let any old guy in that could put our kids in danger.

I’ve read, according to the young girl’s friend, worse than not believing her daughter she was actually jealous of her daughter getting more“attention” than her hence why she didn’t seem too bothered about her daughter going missing.

Another thing to look at would be even if she was sick if I were in her shoes sick or not I wouldn’t have stayed with a man who assaulted me before and could’ve easily done it again. Maybe he forced her into staying home by threatening her, did something to her, and made up a whole day that they were supposedly together.

Love your take on these cases, Danelle! You are the only KZfaqr I will immediately watch when I get your notifications! On a side note, wouldn't all the bodies of water be frozen with the temperature? I am sure Vincent is guilty, but am so curious to know where the poor girl's remains are stored. These cases are just horrible.

Also.. IF it was a stranger.. the step dad took the dog for a walk around 230, which is close to when kids get out of school. Maybe it was perfect timing for him to take a walk at that time!?! Hm.....
