I honestly feel that he's one of the characters with the most depressing backstory, Joey stressed him to the point of snapping which made him go insane. Then he tried everything so Bendy could notice him to free him, but he only killed him after everything he did. NGL now people just view him as this werido who is overly obsessed with Bendy. I used to believe this myself but now that I've seen the backstory to him it made me realise it's not his fault he's a bad guy, all he wanted was to be free. lOl I got way to deep but I wanted to comment this. I know other characters have depressing back stories to but it's just the way the fandom views him.

I think what happened to Susie probably had an effect on him too. He was fond of her if not in love with her and I'm sure after she was replaced/'inkified"; he probably had had enough of Joey's lies and lost it.

Sammy is potrayed as a barely looked over character, Sammy is still my favorite character after the finale of the game, in my opinion he's a character who has much to show, but he's looked at as just another studio worker. I always feel so bad for Sammy, from his eternal prison, and his fate, Sammy is always going to hold a special place in my heart, the man has much to give.

I was just coming back to this video to remind myself of my favorite character, when I noticed something very interesting. At 6:04, when we get a closeup of his unmasked face, increase your brightness to maximum, and you can see where his eyes were, and how they react with his mood. I’m probably not the first one to notice this, but I just found it cool.

I still stand by my theory that the Lost Ones healed/fixed Sammy after he was greatly injured by using the parts of Susie In chapter 4 we see that her corpse doesn't dissappear and, before chapter 5 came out, the teaser image at the end of the credits was a group of Lost Ones standing over her corpse

Sammy Lawrence is a guy who was made to look like all the other workers in the game but it actually incredibly important. He's always been my favourite because of how he was presented, he was the man who snuck around to spook you when you were least suspecting it. The voice actor captured the character perfectly in both chapter 2 and 5, you can see a clear difference in his demeanour. In chapter 2 he was patient, he waited and planned his ritual out carefully but in chapter 5 he was mad and didn't care anymore, he wants you dead. This proves that the rebirth process in the machine makes a person lose more and more of their sanity. It was present in Alice/Susie and its definitely obvious on Sammy.

On my first play through my thoughts on Sammy from his audio logs were: cynical and pessimistic Although I would like to see how he interacts/ talks about people he finds half “decent”

Here’s a thought: What if when Sammy was fighting Henry what if he thought it was Joey. Think about it. Why would Sammy scream those lines to Henry if he never lied to him? If he did get hurt by bendy his vocal cords may not have been the only thing that got damaged. Bendy could have hit him hard in the eyes making Sammys vision blurry. This is just a thought if u don’t read it all I understand. This is just what I think in my opinion

Alright, in the book dream comes true, Sammy Lawrence is caught drinking ink on multiple occasions. He was also seen doing cultist like things to bendy stuff. He’s always stealing ink in it, and sometimes departments ran out of ink. I believe that after drinking all of the ink (that Joey used to create Boris) he became the same Lawrence you see in the game. Like this so he can see it.

Did anyone after Henry said “Where the hell did he go?” Did anyone hear a whisper saying In the wall?

Ok but...I would like to bring this up as a possibility as to why he could..."control" the searchers and lost ones...this may sound weird, but just....here me out... What if he was like...a leader of sorts for them? Like a...like a religious leader preaching the word of Bendy? Looking at this from a different perspective, he could be seen as someone bringing them hope. Hope that they could become characters as well, and possibly even become humans again. They are so willing to follow him because they, too, believe that with your sacrifice comes their salvation.Most villains believe that they are the heroes...what Sammy is doing could be seen as correct to him and to them as well. He's spreading hope to the faceless ad the shapeless. Those not lucky enough to be reborn as a character. This is just my speculation...but it seems like maybe...he's only the villain out of desperation...they're following his word out of hope, not out of any actual ability to control them. And maybe...each of the 2 times he dies they attacked because you killed the one giving them hope...

I think that in one of the past time loops Henry and Sammy made an alliance, because why else would Sammy say that Henry looked familiar?

But this doesn't explain Sammy's third appearance if you can get the scythe. It looks like Sammy is evolving backwards INTO a searcher. Perhaps every time a character is pulled back into the ink, more of their mind/soul/humanity is absorbed into the ink. It makes sense with as manic and violent Sammy is in his second appearance, even more so in his final appearance.... Even Alice Angel says she won't let the demon touch her again. Meaning she's been pulled back multiple times as well. Sure she looks more cartoonish, but she's also dangerously unstable physically and mentally.

There's another line that Sammy says: "I'm going to cut that *_smile_* right off your face!" Does smile reminds you of someone? EDIT: another one: "My *_lord_* ? Why have you foresaken me?" Who he calls lord?

Did anyone notice that when 'Sammy' gets attacked by Bendy, he sounded somewhat different, like his accent seemed soewhat British? It might have not been him, as we seem him ay ok in another chapter. Bendy would of killed him before he went back to greet you and try to kill you. Just a theory... :)

Another thing I would like to mention, If anyone has watched Jurassic Park 1 (which I hope they have), they would notice Joey's motives for doing the Ink Machine Project ( he wanted to create living attractions) mirrored John Hammond's motives (he wanted to create living attractions), but Hammond did it with dinosaurs, while Joey did it with ink and people's souls through the Reanimation Cycle.

Also, can I point something out, I originally believed the line of ‘you look familiar’ was cause Henry was slowly changing into the better form of Bendy, and that Sammy recognised him looking near the same to the Ink Demon he worships. I guess that isn’t the case, sorry to bother everybody with this stupid comment, continue on and have a magical day.

In the book "Bendy: Dreams come true", a pipe burst ink all over him and he came rushing out of the room screaming in agony as the ink was in his eyes and everywhere. In Dreams come to Life, Sammy was drinking ink, and kidnapping workers to a specific place in the studio. Where he feeds the workerd to Bendy. The workers were covered in ink. So, Bendy first, then Sammy, Sammy brought workers to the place, where they became a “kind of” Lost Ones?

I think if people die a certain amount of times , they get reborn as a searcher instead of any thing else, and remain that way permanently. But before dying that amount of time, they are reborn the way they were when they died. That is why the secret searcher has a sammy mask.

Wait So Sammy died in chapter 2 but he came back so doesn't that mean his "Death" in chapter 5 is his real death if he can come back over and over again.

So in chapter 5, Sammy thinks he is fighting Joey based on the line “you said I would be free” and Sammy, under his mask, has no face so maybe he could not tell so uhh, I feel a bit bad for him now

The reason Sammy tells Henry he lied is because in chapter 3 when you play all the instruments, Sammy will say a line: “But now, you will set us free”. So I guess because Bendy killed Sammy but he got a rebirth, and was already alive again in chapter 3, so he was counting on Henry to set him free at that point. What confuses me is if in chapter 5 Sammy got his vocal cords damaged, why didn’t he get them damaged right after he came back? He should’ve had a corruption in his voice in chapter 3 when he said that. Another mystery....

I always though Sammy was lashing out at Ink Bendy when he attacks during Chapter 5. If you listen to the dialogue it adds up!

I have a theory maybe when you look at the picture of Sammy death it was ink so I think the ink monster that had Sammy mask it must’ve been that the ink puddle remained him as a blob then turn back to normal but his mind was mestup so he attacks Henry and thinks he is bendy.?

I have a theory. What if the way the ink machine works is that it puts the human souls through loops? With each loop, the victim (In this case Henry) becomes more like an ink creature than human. I think Henry is around halfway through this process. It would explain why Henry gets these strange visions throughout the game, most notably in chapter 4, as well as explain the hidden messages throughout the studio. So what creature would Henry be turning into? Bendy! It makes the most sense, since Henry was Bendy's true creator. That may also explain why Ink Bendy saves Henry so often. (Including by taking out Sammy!) Maybe the reason Henry looks familiar to Sammy is because he's starting to turn into Bendy. Maybe it's only subtle in chapter 2, but by chapter 5 Henry could, theoretically, look an offal lot like Bendy. So when Sammy attacks Henry in chapter 5, I don't think he realizes Henry is the same guy that he tried to sacrifice in chapter 2. Instead, he thinks Henry is Bendy, who he believed had betrayed him.

Something you didn't really touch on in this video (but I think you did in another) is that I think Sammy was in love with Susie at some point. During the Hot Topic q&a, one of the questions was about Susie and he said he still remembers her smile. Alice Angel says that Sammy said she (Susie) had talent, and that he was once a very handsome man. This hints that the attraction was mutual. However, I think Susie also had a thing for Joey, as she was charmed by him. I think Sammy got jealous and might have played a role in having Susie replaced by Allison. After all, Susie refers to both Joey AND Sammy as 'liars'.

I believe everything you said except for the part where you said that Henry and Sammy didn't know each other before Henry resigned because let's put it this way (at some point when Joey tricks Henry into this cartoon world with the others in an enternal loop). At enternal loop #1 if Sammy said Henry looked familiar to him AGAIN then they would've met BEFORE Henry quit.

Have you seen the Sammy Lawrence Twitter Q & A? I wouldn't say it changes anything in this theory, but it is an interesting look into Sammy's personality when he's not disgruntled with Joey or pissed off and attacking Henry.

Here's my theory: When Sammy said, "Wait.... that face, you look familiar", we also have to remember that Sammy kept on seeing Bendy (basically) everywhere he went. Thus, he may have seen a bit of Bendy's face, or just Bendy in Henry himself. Also, he was possibly overworking, and spending more time working than his extracurricular things, causing him to possibly see mirages or anything else. And, more likely than not, Sammy musta been Susie's boyfriend (figuring that he showed affection to Susie, and Alice even called Sammy very handsome.), and after they had broken up, that woulda have triggered his emotional effects on his state of mind. After breaking up, he must have been been emotionaly shooken. And another fact is that, even when Ink Bendy "killed" Sammy in Chapter 2, he still came back in Chapter 5, eventually dying by getting killed by an axe that Tom had hit him with. So, if he survived the ink DEMON, he could obviously survive an axe. And Sammy did keep on saying bad things about Joey and his potentional greed. He kept on making "errors" as he's just doing his best, and Joey scribbles things out, in red marker. So all of what i'm saying leads to this: *What if Sammy was a good guy, but we don't see it in him?* He's gone through so much in his life, so the least we could do is help him out. I personally believe there should be a chapter dedicated just to Sammy and Henry, reuniting once again, and Sammy living. Anyone agree?

Theory : sammy was the second being (after the boris clones) that have been "inkfired" his character would be bendy as the second aswer to his belonged bendy mask and seen the ink demon as a more perfect and powerful version of what HE is supossed to be then prayed for the most powerful to free him and in the attack "the profhet's betrayal" Bendy killed him and with his power knowing the profhet would wish to kill him made him see his own face in Henry so he would be useful (sounds like madness and control of bendy)

sammy could have not been referring to joey tho. he said "he always lies". that is telling us that he understands that he is in an infinite loop. that must mean he is talking about someone that lied in one of the chapters, which is bendy. when he got killed by bendy in chapter 2, (like you said) it must have messed up his vocal chords, and his brain. when sammy came back to life, his brain probably got messed up so he thought bendy promised him he would be set free.
